How did you first see the Star Wars films?
Time

I was introduced to the Star Wars movies beginning with TPM, which I watched at my grandparents house (I think it was a VHS from the local library). The same goes for AOTC. ROTS I saw a while later, when my mom got my dad the full Star Wars set (2004 DVD). I saw the 2004 special editions of the OT soon after that. A few years later, I watched the GOUT, immediately preferring the ST in my ignorance. Eventually I found this place and my views changed.

What we like about the Prequels

All right, I've watched AOTC, and I didn't care for it at all. Some of you may be about to call me crazy, but I think it's an even weaker movie than TPM. This surprised me, since I don't recall thinking that way when I was younger.

I think there's a general consensus that that's the worst of the three. A lot of people like TPM the best, while many others like ROTS the best. I have yet to come across anyone who likes AOTC better than the other two.

What do you HATE about the EU?
Time

I love that aspect of the PT, actually. Not the similarities of planets, but that there were many new ones. It doesn't make sense that they'd keep ending up on the same planets in a galaxy that size. I hope the ST continues that trend.

One thing I hate about the EU is that it made Ki-Adi-Mundi a Jedi Knight on the council. That makes Anakin's already embarrassing rant meaningless.

My vacation was fantastic, but after thirty-four nights of camping (at least it wasn't tenting), I'm happy to be back in a house. We drove from Alberta all the way through the Maritimes (Newfoundland excluded) and then back to Quebec. It was certainly the experience of a lifetime and I'm looking forward to my eventual bilingualism. :)

The Fish Enthusiast Thread (My fishies are now thousands of miles away, but I finally uploaded pics of a couple of my tanks :-) )
Time

There are plants in the tank in the second picture, but they didn't hadn't had much time to grow at the time of the picture, and we hadn't replaced any of the ones that had died. At one point our 180 gallon tank was pretty thick with plants, but those all died when we tried to treat the tank for green slime algae (a nasty type of bacteria). Our 300 gallon tank was also heavily planted when we had foxtail (not the stuff that grows in fields, but a really fast-growing water plant) in it, but the foxtail completely took over, killing many other plants in the process. When we removed the foxtail, there was little else left to plant, leaving us with what you see.

When we get back home, we'll be sure to plant that tank properly. The Cichlids don't do well with plants (they tear them up and eat them), so the only plant we'll keep in there is floating foxtail.

I'm assuming that's what you meant by planted tank and that you weren't encouraging me to start up a terrarium or anything. :)

I won't be able to move as much either, now that I'll be in regular school again (and I'll try to avoid going online while doing homework, which will take extra long, being in French), so don't worry about not being able to move as often. Our games will just have to be slow most of the time.

I'd like to start with regular Shogi, just to get back into it, then move on to Dobutsu Shogi.

EDIT:  Also, it was nice to see Bingowings mention me a few times, even if it was to worry about where I was.  Good to know I wasn't forgotten in my absence.  But I should clarify I didn't disappear because of any perceived criticism about my clothing choices or gender identity, so fear not.  :-)

It's always nice to see an older member return after a long absence. Ziggy's been dropping in again as well. Even if those members are all before my time, I read a lot of old threads and the beginnings of current ones, so I almost feel like I've conversed with them myself. :)
