Would someone who has a copy of the current best version (the RiffTrax one, it looks like!) email me to set up a trade? I'd really love that. And I do own the RiffTrax! I actually sent them a copy of the WMAR recording they riffed on DVD (different encoding than the one on Google Video, had different glitches, didn't sync to Riff), for which they gifted me the riff.

Then what you have is a crappy dub of the theatrical version of Fight Club. The workprint runs ten minutes longer than the theatrical cut (actually, there's more than ten minutes of extra footage, because there are no end credits). It includes all the deleted/alternate scenes from the DVD release, a few extra bits and a temp score.

Is there anyone around here who can cap a raw HD broadcast? Specifically, part of the Olympics on Monday, Feb 22. My favorite band, DEVO, will be performing and I want to have a copy of that in the highest quality possible. Right now, the best I have is a DVR and set-top DVD recorder. This sounds really great, I'm going to be following this thread with great interest. I think that the CC looks great, and I'm for the new rendition of Druidia, though I don't think it should look so dark and stormy.

The TV cut is the version on the recently released DVD. You don't really have anything to gain anymore from capping a TV airing.

I have a copy of Rikter's disc. I'm pretty sure it will still copy. Maybe I'll give it a CRC test now. And yeah, skyjedi is right, it looks like shit.

EDIT: Yeah, my disc is still good.

There's alternate/temp score, almost the entire narration is a different take/recording, all of the deleted scenes on the DVD are in the movie and there's a couple other small ones that aren't, to boot.

I did a few pages so far, not going so bad. I'm going away for about a week tomorrow morning, though, so I'll have to wait till I get back to finish it.

So here's some screencaps. Sorry there aren't of many of the commonly-capped shots. The DVD is one of those that you can't actually skip around in the navigation aside from the chapter marks, so that's mostly what I stuck to.

The laserdisc or my DVD? My answers would be "I don't know" and "no", respectively. The disc I have is just Captain EO.

I think so? Maybe it's from the US laserdisc. I remember subtitles, but then again, my brain might automatically assume that all LD caps have burned-in Asian subs.

I have a disc somewhere with a widescreen bootleg telecine of this, as well as a pan'n'scan transfer from a Japanese LD.

I can, but the best I can offer is recording it to my DVR and then dubbing it to a DVD-R with my set-top recorder.

Oh, huh. I shrug at the situation. All I know is that I've scoured the internets and obtained the best copies I can and I can enjoy the flick whenever I please.

Oh, well, my mistake. Anyway, the "CG" version up there is still the best thing I've seen circulating yet.

The rip that's floating around is probably mine. There is another copy that surfaced recently, ripped from a German TCM broadcast. It was dubbed in German, but the guy who ripped the XviD of it that's on Cinemageddon used the audio from my rip (and also the video for a couple short scenes that were deleted). That's probably the best copy circulating. 

I've been told by a reliable source that Warner Bros. would like to do a DVD of it (Schiller would be involved and bonus materials exist), but they can't figure out how to make the numbers work. Shame.

I'd assume it is, but honestly, I haven't watched anything past the film proper. I really can't imagine that there's anything not included in the Winter of Discontent release. Between that and the ridiculous A/B Road 70-CD collection, you'd probably have all there is to be had.
