Tintin is going to be my final end-all litmus test for Spielberg. If it works, then he will have proven his mettle. But likely I will be just as disappointed as usual. And then I will completely give up on his output. (I haven't liked anything post 87 anyway, save for Crusade.)

What about Jurassic Park, Schindler's List, Minority Report, and Munich?

THIS.

And also, Tintin also has Jackson on it's side, and I doubt he'll let Spielberg fuck it up too much.

As for the release dates on certain movies not being mad: If/When the studio changes it, I will too, but those are the schedules dates as of now.   Some movies don't have a scheduled date so they have question marks instead.

About half a season to go of Trailer Park Boys. Thanks Red! I didn't think it was that good at first, but a few episodes in I couldn't stop watching.

Breaker breaker, come in Earth. This is rocket ship 27. Aliens fucked over the carbonator on engine number 4; I'm gonna try and refuckulate it and land on Juniper. Uh, hopefully they got some space weed... over.

Hahahaha hell yeah, that show is the best man.  After the series proper is over, you have to watch the "Say Goodnight to the Bad Guys" special followed by the movie "Countdown to Liquor Day" to really end the show.

If you've never watched Eastbound & Down before I think you'd really enjoy that as well.  It's two seasons deep right now and the third/last is airing this year.  Other hillarious comedies I'd recommend to anyone:

  • Louie
  • It's Always Sunny in Philidelphia
  • Arrested Development
  • Curb Your Enthusiasm
  • Seinfield
  • Summer Heights High
  • 30 Rock
  • Tim & Eric Awesome Show Great Job!
  • Da Ali G Show

If anyone is now considering humane traps for mice/etc., whatever you do DON'T BY GLUE TRAPS!

I worked at a Lowes over the summer, and people would ask for them all the time, looking for a humane trap, and I could never understand it.  Instead of killing them instantly (most of the time) like a snap trap, it slowly tortures and starves them to death instead.  Why would someone even produce such a thing?

Last song you listened to.

I agree, I like Naked more too, but some songs are definitely better on the original (like the title track).  I think Phil Spector did a pretty amazing job with the original Let It Be, considering the studio tapes were such a huge mess when he got a hold of them.  But a lot of songs (Two of Us, Across the Universe, etc.) were way better once McCartney took off the overproduction of Spector.

They were breaking up while making Let It Be, and they knew it, so afterwards they went in the studio and took the last few songs they had and put all their bullshit aside and made Abbey Road.  They didn't even bother completely the partial songs they had, so they just made them all into one, big 16 minute medley, and made it the B-side to the album.  What a great way to end the greatest rock band of all time.

First of all, I love eating meat, and I don't feel bad about it.  I try to buy local as much as possible to ease my conscious.  But eating meat for sustenance is different than killing a mouse cause he got in your house.

Second of all, poisonous spiders don't live in Northwest Ohio, but if I did see one I would smash the fuck out of it.  But killing for self-protection is different than killing a mouse cause he got in your house.

Those are both weak analogies.

Thirdly, however you want to deal with your critter problem is totally up to you, and it doesn't really bother me at all, all I'm saying is that this is how I choose to deal with mine.  I don't necessarily think there is a right or wrong way.

But lastly, and mostly, this isn't the politics thread, and this is the reason I ignore it.

I don't think Bingo was defending him at all.  I think his point was 'this is only a message board' and we may be getting ahead of ourselves.

I think we can all ignore him and carry on without much further discussion.

I love spiders too, if possible it's best to try and move creatures out of the house than kill them but we had a air duct infestation of starlings once and they brought loads of spider eggs in with the nesting materials ate through the bathroom roof so eventually we had to get the pest control people in to deal with the millions of little spider babies.

Holy hell that sounds disgusting.  I agree, I can't bring myself to kill even a small bug in the house (or anywhere else) without feeling really guilty about it.  I don't think I could squish a mouse.

But spiders... ack.  I try to leave them alone and go about my business, but they do give me the jibbies I have to admit.

There is this one orb-weaver that makes a web every evening on the porch, and PinkFive and I go out and watch him make his masterpiece.  By the morning it's gone, but he always comes back.

Sometimes silly things are necessary.

It showed that there were a lot of people who for various reasons twooffour had got up their nose.

As to if he shovved himself up there or was to some degree snorted is another matter.

As I said in my post the threads and huge chunks of threads calling for Frink to be banned were also silly.

People say stuff.

They usually stay stuff in a particular way.

When I read twooffour I read him as a self important, obsessive person who will pick any post to pieces even if it doesn't need to be.

Sometimes that's a good thing and it pretty much describes a large number of the people posting here, including myself.

It's my perception of his posting style and nine times out of ten I moderate my reaction based on that subjective reading of his style (which may not be anything to do with the actual person typing the words).

Once in a while the accumulated limescale of reading his posts provoke me to drop a bomb (usually with no effect).

He rubs against the grain perhaps a little too much too frequently for anyone's good (including himself) but if he goes too far eventually he will be as stopped as any of us can be.

However sometimes what he post is stimulating, either as food for thought and further discussion or just as an example of how looney we all are.

DC & Marvel Comics - screwing over a dwindling fanbase since 199(place number here).

I know!  It's like, they do a couple of cool things a year and then release a thousand crappy titles that all tie in with the few good things!  That's why I stick to Dark Horse and indie titles usually, although I do have a soft spot for the Supes.
