Very true, bingo, and I'd thought of something like that before. I was just thinking of movies that actually referenced their own different possible interpretations. But with dream movies like Vanilla Sky and Inception, I guess the line gets a little more blurry.

Greeny, 2010 but no 2001? For shame...
A favourite film, for me, would be a film I can sit through without having to fast forward it (That goes for you too, Star Trek: The Motion Picture). And when the ENTIRE plot of 2001 can be summed up in detail in the first few minutes of 2010, it's doing something wrong.
I do think Kubrick is a good director, probably the best, but for me 2001 is way overrated. Plus 2010 focuses more on the characters and the story, something that 2001 did very little.
Plus I don't tend to look at 2001 as a film. A piece of Art, yes. But a film, No.
Oh and please don't tell me I need to go to art school to 'understand' it. I've been to art school and I still don't enjoy it.
Greeny, 2010 but no 2001? For shame...
And do you love Batman Begins so much you put it there twice?

Uh-oh! Is either of you with C3PX right now? Because he goes through men like tissue paper, but just wait until he gets dumped. All heck breaks loose and his inner hippie takes over!
That's me, remember? ;)

By the way, some of you may or may not have heard that I'm compiling a favorite films year-by-year list. Should I post it in here or give it it's own thread?
Your own!
Ripplin, I've always wondered about your avatar. What's the story there?

Erm... Inception?
How so? I mean, I love the movie, but it's pretty straightforward, ironically. The only thing that's debatable is the ending.
Unless I'm missing something.
Bump!*
A few months ago I rewatched my Superman II Richard Donner Cut DVD for the first time since I bought it, and remembered why I didn't watch it for so long. I remembered seeing a "hybrid cut" that mixed Donner's with Lester's on the internet some time ago, and a short search led me FanEdit.org, and that is when I was introduced to the world of fan editing.
I was linked here from there, and started exploring all the different SW preservations and edits, and in my overwhelmedness I signed up and made my first post, asking people which cuts they liked best. Shortly thereafter I found the off topic section...

Back to the topic at hand, the bulk of the Buffyverse takes place out of sight of Buffy herself so does that knock the possible reading of Buffy (via Normal Again) that everything we see as happening is happening in her mind on the head?
She could be imagining everyone else's lives as well as her own, sort of a schizophrenic thing, which would be in line with being in a mental institution. How about viewing Buffy as either a) a teen monster show that's fun and cool or b) an allegory for teen angst and later early 20's anxiety? Too much?
Another movie is Vanilla Sky. Without spoiling too much, there are three or four different ways to view that movie.
Adywan can change his title now
bump!

Woah, I live like an hour away from the table-fucker and his creepy neighbor voyeur. Weird...

I know someone at BGSU. And I was there a few years ago for his wedding.
Damn it is a small world, feel like name dropping? BG was a pretty terrible city (town? village? middle-of-nowhere shithole?) to go to college in, but I guess it could have been worse.

Yeah I'm still in Toledo, a few hours away where? That's crazy.
Actually, I have to correct myself, I though it was two hours away, but it is actually only an hour away. Eh hem, if you were to hop on 75 N and drive approximately one hour, you'd find yourself in the massive ruins of what was once a city. I live in those ruins.
I have some friends/family in the D, it's a sad state these days. Toledo is finally on the way up from being damn near deserted for a couple decades, which is really nice to see finally. I lived downtown for a while until rent started skyrocketing all of a sudden, which I guess is the downside. If I'm ever in the area I'll send ya a pm maybe we could read some Vonnegut if you know what I mean.
Twister those videos made me want to hurt someone.
A: "Rad Brad, is rad."
Q: What is the best/worst meme of all time?

I don't know? Do you want to be unignored? You should realize you have the privilege of being the first and only person I have ever ignored in all my years here. That is quite an honorary position! Do you still live in Toledo? I only live a few hours away from there myself.
I now feel like smoking and reading some Vonnegut...
The first!? *facepalm* Yeah I'm still in Toledo, a few hours away where? That's crazy.
I myself am about to do something very similar.

It's pretty tough having good taste in movies unlike your peers, isn't it? I know some guys who's favorite movie is the one they last watched. They haven't even watched anything from before 2000!
Tell me about it. My friends really don't have any idea about the movies I normally watch. For instance, one of my friends didn't know Tron Legacy was a sequel. Another one of my friends watched Blade Runner and tried to pretend she actually got some of it. However, I do find it fun enlightening them with cinema from the past. Do you? For instance, I showed Evil Dead and The Shining at a party and it was a great time. However, my peers seem to not take well to slow-pacing, 2001, or black and white.
As you get older, this will not change nearly as much as you hope it will...
A: No, but apparently 146 Minnesotans are.
Q: Have you ever (almost) been arrested?
