The OT Cover Repository
Time
I think a little more care could be taken to ensure that the proper people are given credit for their efforts... but that's just from the POV of someone who made a few of the uncredited covers there. Otherwise, the site is certainly functional and approaching all-inclusive, though the recompression is evident in several peices there.

I think it's got potential, certainly.

However, some of my upcoming covers are going to be made with a 3mm bleed, and older ones will be retooled to include this as well, and I want for there to be a proper webpage available informing people of print dimensions and crop measurements... which is why I didn't want to go for the "online photo album" myself.

I've gotta back up BadAsh71 on this one... burning a movie to DVD and watching it on a TV makes a world of difference. Like I stated previously, though perhaps rather crypticly, when I initially downloaded the TR47 set, all I could really say to myself when watching it on my computer was that at least I have it in a non-degrading format now, and it looking like a VHS copy was better than nothing. After getting a DVD burner and watching it on my HDTV, it came to life and I've been very pleased. Very pleased.

I also like the idea of the isolated score. As others have said, it's just gives you another way of watching the movie, which is pretty sweet. (After a billion viewings, a little fresh air now and then is just what the OT needs!) Besides, with DVD-rs being as cheap as they are these days, there's little reason to pass up another set of the OT on my shelf. (What am I up to now... three sets? Four when the rest of the ISOMIX is released? Lord almighty...)

Ah, sorry. Didn't mean to sound so volitile toward you... I'm just a little miffed at Jimbo is all. I actually respected your ability to discuss, rather than simply argue. Cheers!

Who ever said I am 100% against the death penalty?

Who ever said I am 100% for abortion?

Not me. Ever. You see, once again people have taken another's words out of context. All I said is that I don't like Bush. That's about the only concrete opinion I think I had in that little diatribe back there. Everything else was just pointing out the hypocrisy of the religious right.

And as for taking the high road... *sigh* ...no. There are certain people in this world who just need a bat taken to them. Plain and simple. I never claimed to be a pacifist, ever. I never claimed a lot of things. People instantly label me a liberal because I don't support Bush, but my socio-political beliefs are slighly more complex than anything a single word like "liberal" or "conservative" can encompass.

It's times like this that I'm glad I'm a Marxist.

Killing our own babies is wrong, but killing foreign babies (and the rest of their population, and even allowing the death penalty in America) is okay? No tolerance for gays, but tolerance for a 2000 year old, outdated, hate mongering religious belief is right? Allowing a candidate to change their mind on an issue is unheard of, but supporting a candidate who still hasn't mastered high-school level English is "the only sane choice"?

I could go on, but in short I think the so called "moral/Christian-right" need to pay a little more attention to the doctrines of their faith. What ever happened to "judge not", "do unto others", "love thy neighbor", "turn the other cheek" and a hundred other lessons the faith is supposedly based on? The hypocrisy of all you people claiming to have a moral leg to stand on based on your religion, all the while using the words "faggot" and "whore" (and yes, that statement is leveled directly at Jimbo) is astounding.

I can't really say I like Kerry, but I can say I really don't like Bush. (And I can also say that people like Jimbo are why baseball bats were invented...)

But as others have stated, average video quality, noticeable jaggies, and on my PC, there is a light white line that runs down the right side of the screen.

Yeah, them menus is perty shweet.

I haven't burned my copy to DVD yet... something that took TR47's set from "at least I have the O-OT" on my monitor to "totally fuckin' boss" on my HDTV, and will probably help the presentation of the ISOMIX as well... but that line you're talking about is kinda annoying.

Um... you seem to spend a lot of your day instigating problems on the internet for such a "winner". And I don't mean retaliating, I mean launching a personal attack on people for no reason other than they have different opinions than you.

If you don't want to be civil to people for that sake of not being an asshole, then be civil for this reason.

Are most of your other games equipped with a hands-free neural transmitter or something? From my experience, I thought all games relied on you pressing a button/key/mouse-click to make things happen. If you mean some sort of elaborate 10-button combination (like the Street Fighter/Mortal Kombat/Tekken type games) then no, there's nothing like that. The combat system is actually pretty slick.

And it should be noted that you CAN drop out of combat in the middle of fighting. Sure, the baddies will still attack you (and you'll still block with your lightsaber), but it will let you move around and get important things done... remember the "droid room" toward the end? Woulda been kind of hard to get that done if all you could do was hack away with your saber. (I hope I kept that satisfactorily spoiler-free.)

Ironically, it wasn't even intended in that regard. Bizzle's the one who originally brought up pointing out misspellings as a "valid" debate point. I simply returned the favor.

Ah, my bad then.

Um...

Seriously guys, can we please just let this thread die? Please? When it has come to the point of correcting somebody's mastery of the language, I think it's safe to say that the steam has gone out of the arguement.

Let's just chalk this one up to experience. 'Kay?
