When Did The Star Wars Prequels Become Cool?

Because I give more of a shit about other movies I own on DVD/BD/UHD compared to Star Wars. Fucking hell, I import too.

That doesn’t explain at all why you’re here.

Preservations/Fan Edits of other movies & TV shows > STAR WARS.

Is it mandatory I have to blindly love Star Wars and spend all my extra money on it to be a full proper member on this forum? No. I grew up with Star Wars in the 1980’s and I’m done with owning anything with it.
Many of the members on this forum takes this shit far too seriously. Live a little.

That’s the joke.

But jokes are supposed to be funny.

Mine usually never are. Owning Star Wars on Disc or Digital is a joke. Owning only the movie tickets for the current movies is cakewalk.
Let’s face it, THE CLONE WARS CGI TV series managed to accomplish something Episodes II & III could never do. Made you care about Anakin. Oh yeah, because the actor received far better direction. Blame Lucas on not wanting to give proper direction to Hayden Christiansen. Glad the actor decided to work on his own farm instead of letting the fans who take Star Wars far too literally.

That’s the fucking joke.

Prequel Trilogy can’t be cool. No scenes are set in icy or cold climates. But The Empire Strikes Back, The Force Awakens, and possibly Rogue One are the only cool STAR WARS movies. Cause the others are Hot, Wet, Mucky, and yeah.

Aaaaaand now the theatrical version is up on Netflix STREAMING. sigh

It’s not on the Netflix I use. Yes, still disc rentals on my side. Can’t stand streaming, even if it’s HD or 4K and am seeing it through an impossibly fast connection.
If the filesize is decent after a rip from Netflix Streaming, someone put it on a BD25 without DNR/EE use. Film grain needs to be left alone, dammit.

You realize that you quoted something from September of last year, right?

Yes Craig, I do realize. This project seems dead in the water or a zombie shark. Hell, could be the premise for the long overdue, not really, JAWS 5.

I actually just checked this out a few hours ago. Yep the Netflix version has the original ending. Strange. On another note the print of the first Jaws on Netflix is not the BD print either. It looks to be an HD master of the print from the 2000 and 2005 DVDs. It also had the first surround mix done for Jaws in 2000 ie minus the restored sound FX from the original mono.

So you said that the original cut of Jaws the Revenge is on Netflix, does it have the 3 frames of Jake’s Death that is not seen in any other cut? If you could check for me, I would be very happy.
Thanks!

Sorry for the late response but anyways digitalfreaknyc basically beat me to it. Jaws 4 is currently not on NetFlix anymore but if it surfaces again I’ll let you know. Sorry.

Not on Netflix Streaming or DVD/Blu-ray disc? You guys are confusing because not everyone cares for Streaming. Why the fuck has Netflix Streaming overshadowed OG Netflix which still offers disc rentals?

Streaming. Also, why are you using a project thread to voice an argument about Netflix??

Streaming can go suck a fuck. Unless if you do an HD cap from it, it’s all good to me. Especially certain cuts or whichever’s not available on Blu-ray disc from ANYWHERE ON THE PLANET. Wait, then that goes for all Streaming services and great for HD preservations.

The quality of the show isn’t the relevance to the project, but whether there is a preservation to be done.

Some animation in the more recent years, prior to the HD switch, was done in digital SD, and there is no point to a BluRay release. I believe original Naruto falls into that category.

It’s Blu-ray disc. Not BluRay, BlueRay, Blu-ray DVD, etc.
Naruto is fucktarded and completely for weeaboos. One Piece sucks donkey dick too. There’s absolutely no reason why the majority of these series need to be over 400~700 episodes.
Isn’t there Dragon Ball Super? Another stupid thing for me to not give a toss about. Why not preserve some live-action Disney movies in OAR and HD?

tl;dr I’m fucking done.

That’s great news! The fact that the two discs have some of the same special features seems to indicate that the unrated version was at some stage meant to be a single disc edition - bodes well for a western release.

I’m glad a physical copy of the unrated movie exists in HD somewhere in the world though!

I bet with shipping it’s gonna be expensive. Regarding Flight of the Navigator, the DE Blu-ray disc looks better than the UK one. Better film grain retention.
Strange Days is available on Blu-ray disc from DE. Most current 2-Disc looks the best, which I own. Career Opportunities I can only seem to find a low filesize 720p of but looking for 1080p. FRIGHT NIGHT: Part II is again available from DE/Germany on Blu-ray disc but it’s a but pricey and I managed to snag one from a friend for a reasonable price.

Those BDs you’re talking about are the epitome of excessive DNR, as well as cropped.

Not all Blu-ray disc is worth buying. Especially anime which is solely more for weebs these days. Naruto and One Piece would be mocked and completely laughable if it were released on the format.
I’ll settle for Studio Ghibli and random stuff on the format. Dubs, audio and dubtitles, blows goats for quarters anyway.
Please excuse my obviously blatant shitpost.

Nah, none. Expected M2TS or an ISO. Disappointed. Making a fan edit in HD and not making a BD25 download? That’s nearly pants-on-head [word redacted by moderator].

This thread is a bit old but I hope you’re still working on your project.
If you are, I have several promo DVDs for the 2nd and 3rd films that have unreleased material on them not present on any VHS/DVD/BD releases that you may be interested in.

I’d love to see that promo material too for a similar kind of project that I am doing 😃

Bonus feature Supplemental DVDs similar to the ALIEN Appendix releases? Hopefully these can also be BD25 but with SD content or DVD9s.

Yes, I didn’t grow up reading Harry Potter, literally couldn’t have since I was a 1980’s kid and was a teen/adult in the 1990’s, but became a fan of the series because of a friend has all 8 movies on Blu-ray disc. Marathoned them too.
Wonder if anyone, ADM mebbe?, will make a custom Extended Edition for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: Part 1 and if it’d be properly HD to boot. The Blu-ray disc release has many deleted scenes. 11 of them running 14m 33s. English Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 or English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 though?

DNR? Fucking stop using it and you should fully embrace film grain.
Dragon Ball Z is officially on BD with the uncensored and unedited Japanese versions. IDGAF about the English dub at all or this censored shit.
For Dragon Ball, any chance it’s in HD and the original Japanese audio? No DNR bullshit or the English dub, please. No MKV, just some unedited with OG Japanese on some random multiple BD25s.
Because I doubt Funimation or whoever the fuck is releasing DBZ OG on BD will release DB. Ya dig?
