Let me try putting it another way. Lucas is a businessman. 2004 SE boxset/with bonus disc 2005 SE boxset/NO bonus disc. 2006 Limited Edition SE/with OOT bonus discs WHAT IN THE HELL is going to get people to rebuy the same discs for the fourth fucking time with no real incentive except more changes to the already craptacular editions. Couple that with the fact that by releasing the OOT this year non-anamorphic and pissing off a large percentage of the fanbase that wanted the OOT. Releasing the OOT remastered and anamorphic ensures Lucas will maximize profit. This way he satisfys both camps and Star Wars finishes off on DVD with a big bang! Brilliant stategy and completely expected.

Even if I gave you my sources name that won't help you. I have given you all the information I have. The prototypes for the 2004 DVD boxes are being considered for the 30th Anniversary. The SE are going to get their FINAL definitive changes and the OOT is being restored and will be anamorphic as part of the sets. Beyond that I can provide a few more tiny specifics. I don't really have anything else right now that would satisfy you for proof. I have said before that I will give you more info as it comes to me. If you don't want me to post anything else about the DVDs I won't. I guess being excited as a Star Wars fan and wanting to share with originaltrilogy.com isn't enough.

My source is female. I don't know what gender the restorationist is. Cable-X1 and to everyone else following his negative flow RELAX... I have not said anything impossible. Remember that! All I told you is that the OOT is going to be released with next years boxsets. It will be remastered and anamorphic. Digital Bits will have the information when the press release comes out at the begining of the year. I don't know why so many of you are finding this so hard to believe. LFL has contradicted themselves many times in the past. I am not like "supershadow" confirming sequels and all kinds of other shit. I simply have some limited information on next years boxsets. Believe whatever you want.

The original unaltered trilogy is being remastered by a loving restoration artist. It is the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars and the originals will get their just due. Make no mistake the Special Editions are George's definitive vision and these boxsets will obviously reflect that. Now people will simply be able to enjoy them both. I'm very excited.

Lucasfilm is currently leaning towards two box sets. Yes the original unaltered trilogy is getting remastered and will be anamorphic for the 30th Anniversary.

Holy shit! I cannot believe I am being compared to supershadow... Looking at his website he is just a crazed loon. I have no information regarding future films or projects of that matter. Just the upcoming 30th Anniversary DVDs.. Now that is somebody you should not believe. His bullshit is obvious and it kinda pisses me off the more I read.

Guys I have no reason to lie to anybody. I am not going to sit here and defend my statements. Believe what you wish. I will bring you the info if you want to hear it when it is presented to me. I do not have the name of the restoration artist. What I do have is a life outside of the Star Wars Trilogy. So while people sit around lazily trying to debunk everything I say. Just remember one thing 2007 is the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars. Do you actually think that LFL will pass on the chance to milk the market with SW DVDs one last time? I am not even telling you to take my word for it. Read between the lines has been my entire position throughout this thread. I have not made one impossible statement. I thought I would be a good guy and pass some good news along to my favorite forum. However, people would rather think ill of me. We all KNOW how George Lucas is when it comes to home video formats. You wanna talk about Blu-Ray and HD? Think about it! You will be waiting a long time because George doesn't have any plans on bringing Star Wars anywhere near those formats, till we have a declared winner and the new standard has been set for several years. Lucas doesn't want the OOT released. He gave into a small LFL faction and a loving restoration artist. The deal was release the substandard versions of the OOT bundled of course with the craptacular editions, and some of the money would be used for the restorative. Now Fox is excited because they know that a superior product is coming out next year and is going to make up for the bad double dip that occured this year. It's all going to work out people. Why do you think Fox agreed to such a release?

The press release will be very close to that and will eliminate any belief that LFL had this planned to begin with. It really is brilliant but predictable marketing if you follow what Lucas has done in the past. To answer your quest Cable-X1 the whole company supports him because thats how the money is made. The strategy is perfect. Those within the company that don't support this are the ones who were behind the restoration artist for the upcoming OOT release. It all gels together really well. I'm very excited about next year.

Cable-X1 it is BLATANT... Thats how King George Lucas is. Milk Star Wars for everything you can because the fans keep buying. The 30th Anniversary is his last chance to score on DVD, with the new formats looming to win us over. You can rest assured you will get what you want because Lucas knows DVD we be replaced.

The restoration effort is expensive but it isn't costing as much as the Special Editions. I'm telling you the reason for this release was to fund the restoration of the OOT for the 30th Anniversary DVDs. If this LE release didn't occur we wouldn't be getting the anamorphic OOT next year. Don't be fooled by LFL!

Then you can refer to my original statements (if originaltrilogy.com is still here). I know you are skeptical but this LIMITED EDITION release should show you that the writing is on the wall for the 30th Anniversary. Lucas is making money this year and preparing for the Star Wars Saga grand finale. I am sorry that people here believe that most are as dishonest as George Lucas.

It really isn't too good to be true. Epecially if you read between the lines of the LFL marketing gimicks. How do you think the OOT got released in the first place? Lucas DID NOT and still doesn't like the idea of those films being released on DVD. It was all the restoration artist I'm telling you the truth. Lucas agreed to the substandard release to fund the restore effort. He declined any money going into the current release.

Not only will the OOT be digitally remastered in anamorphic widescreen. It will also feature a 5.1 audio mix as well as the 2.0 in the current release. The print is being cleaned and primed by someone who has a love for the original trilogy perhaps even more than Lucas himself! The SE's are being "altered" again to fit with the prequels. Yoda is now CG in PM. The biggest change to the Special Editions that I am aware of right now is that HAN SHOOTS FIRST. Lucas is caving on that since that seems to be everyones major gripe with the SE's. The OOT will feature a new commentary track from the restoration artist working on the print. Giving in depth detail about the process and what it took to convince GL to allow the restoration to take place.

Honestly, I think Lucas's track record of lies speaks for itself. If you don't believe me it doesn't matter. I know that next year the reason for originaltrilogy.com will be gone. Those prototypes were expensive and they are good enough for the 30th Anniversary. Right now the only queston is if we are getting one big set or two sets. Lucasfilm is currently leaning toward two sets in an attempt satisfy the fan base.
