Mark Hamill in Ireland Online Interview
Time
~sigh~ Normally I would just let this kind of shit roll off my back and never give it the dignaty of a responce. However, being 38 and GAY (thought I'd bold that just in case Jimbo missed it) I've heard this crap for most of life. At this stage of the game, it's becoming rather old and tired.

Jimbo, you sound like the kid of person who condones things like the Matthew Sheppard killing. If I'm wrong then by all means enlighten me. Because it's people like you and your narrow minded bigoted ways that murdered that boy. Proud of being a homophobe? You are one sick ticket.

As far as being normal goes, well just once I'd like to see this so called 'normal' person that everyone seems to think exists. Go ahead. So me one person on this planet that can honestly stand up and say, 'Yes, I am the one. I'm the one person to which all others should aspire to.' So far I haven't met one single person that I would call 'normal' and quite frankly I doubt that I ever will.

Thank God, I live in a city where we celebrate the diversity of humanity. Perhaps you've heard of it. San Francisco. You know, the birth place of Star Wars.

I also find it sick you compare hating gays with hating races or religion. Its completly different.

Hate is hate. No matter how you color it.

Enough said.

a Star Trek thread...
Time
Yeah, I was a Star Trek fan before Star Wars. My cousin had those Star Trek dolls and the bridge playset. Loads of fun. Of course the dolls and playset came out during the run of the animated series.

I currently have the entire Star Trek library on DVD (minus the original series. I refused to pay $30.00 for two episodes per DVD). I'm just waiting for Voyager seasons 4-7 to come out, the original series is coming out in season sets so I'll be getting those, and next year the animated series is coming to DVD and Enterprise. Hopefully when all is said and done I will have the complete Star Trek DVD library. Although, I'm not too thrilled with Enterprise. I watched the pilot and it just didn't do it for me. Maybe I was just tired of Trek. I'm one of those people that feel that it's time for Trek to hang it up. 10 movies, and 6 TV series is enough. WAY too much if you ask me. While I did like Next Generation, and loved Voyager (don't bash my head in), I hadn't seen much of DS9 until it came out on DVD but I ended up liking it. It took some getting used to, but in the end it wasn't a bad series. The original series I have trouble watching now. It just looks so dated. I know that's part of its charm, but I can only watch a handful of episodes at a time. It's not that I don't like the original, it's just that after all of the 'high tech' Trek that I've seen since 1979, it's just hard to watch those old shows.

I have favorite episodes from each series (except Enterprise and the animated series). Actually too many to mention. For me, my raking of the series is like this

Star Trek
The Next Generation
Voyager
Deep Space Nine
Animated & Enterprise (tied for last place)

That Star Wars Feeling - that brought me here...

LOL! Luke, for some reason I don't consider Star Wars fans as geeks or nerds. I generally think Star Trek people are more geeky or nerdy than Star Wars. Now that is not to belittle Star Trek or its followers. I am a Star Trek fan as well. My family were one of the millions of families that never missed Star Trek when it first went into syndication. So I was Star Trek before I was Star Wars and I still love Star Trek (inspite of what Enterprise has done to the franchise).

Luke, about those large size figures, yep. Those are the big ones that Kenner produced. I got a real deal on 3PO. I found him at an after Christmas sale at K-Mart. Cost me a whole $3.00! However, he wasn't the best bargains that I found. Between Empire and Jedi, K-Mart had a clearence sale on the Kenner Star Wars puzzles and I picked up 5 for 25 cents each. The real bummer was my Luke Skywalker one (even though it was still sealed) it was missing three pieces. While I was in college, Kay Bee Toy & Hobbly has a whole wall full of ROTJ action figures for $1.00. That was how I managed to finish off my action figure collection. They had all of them from Jedi. Got them in one big swoop!

I'd like to take pictures of the collection but at the moment I don't have a digital camera. Plus most of it is stored away in my room and I'm just not inclined to dig it all out. However, I have searched eBay and noticed that the Falcon and Vader's Tie Fighter (both complete and in the boxes) don't seem to go for more than $75.00 each (on average). So, I'm going to try and pick those up. Since I've always wanted them and I have disposable cash I might as well.

I guess the Kenner stuff seems to have gone down in value. Except for those last 17 figures. I still see those going for over $100.00 each. While I'd like to have them, I just can't see paying that much for them. I understand that there weren't many produced, and they are hard to find, but they are just too expensive for me.

Also Luke, that killer post is the blessing (or curse) of having a photographic memory. Well, at least most of the time. Generally I choose not to load the film.

Episodes 7,8,9?

I've come to the conclusion that Lucas has a memory disorder. It's the only thing that seems to me to explain his constantly shifting stories. I seriously believe that Lucas doesn't realize what he's doing. He seriously believes everything he says.

He either has memory problems or the heat up in Sonoma County has fried his brain.

Sorry to be a pain here but its actually CYBERDINE systems they blow up, not SKYNET. Skynet is a totally different thing altogether see my last post!

You're right! I forgot that. Shows how long it has been since I watched T2. But didn't Cyberdine Systems produce the Skynet computers? It was, if I remember correctly, developed from the technology of the Terminator chips. Or software that Cyberdine sold to Skynet that was developed from the Terminator. Either way, if they were destroyed, then the basis for the Skynet technology is no longer there. Right? Forget it. No one seems to understand what it is that I want answered. Besides, this whole thing is giving me a headache.

Here's a Hint of the Public's Reaction that the '04 DVDs would not be the OOT

Greedo shoots first? Not in my DVD player.

Love that! Yeah, it's pretty much split down the middle. What will really be interesting is the number of returns from folks who buy it and find out that it isn't the originals. I think Lucas has made a serious error in judgement. Oh well. You reap what you sew as the saying goes.

Thanks Sean. So, to a certain degree they did change the furture in the 2nd film. Right? So, Judgement Day was just postponed. How then did anything of the Terminator survive from the 2nd film in order for someone to invent the Terminators (or Skynet) in the now slightly changed future?

Jimbo, that's what I'm asking you. How did the war still happen after the future altering events of the 2nd movie?

Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (official)

Jimbo, with the very basic understanding of temporal mechanics that I have it just seems illogical for there to be a 3rd Terminator. Especially considering how the 2nd ended. Miles was killed, and the chip was destroyed (all of them). I'm not looking at the philosophical or moral aspect of the story. I looking at it from a purely storytelling viewpoint. The overall arc of the story. Does that make any sense? If, according to the way the 2nd movie ended, they did change the future then how is it possible for another Terminator to travel back in time for the third time? They changed the future. They prevented the invention of Skynet that in turn invented the Terminators. So, given all of that, how then did they explain that the future wasn't changed? I understand that Skynet and John are connected, but there has to be a logical reason as to how (especially given all of the evidence to the contrary), that a third movie is possible. I'm just talking storyline here. It strikes me, knowing how most movies these days are so dumbed down, that the makers of this film would just throw the whole thing out the window and produce a thrid one just for the sake of producing it. Since the end of the story was supposed to be the 2nd film, how is the story carried on? I just want to hear what explanation they gave for how the a Terminator from a future that was prevented by the end of the 2nd film is able to show up again? If that future was prevented this Terminator shouldn't exist. See what I mean? This is what I want to know before I watch the third film. If the explanation isn't plausible, then I'm not going to bother with it.

Damn. I think I've given myself a headache.
