Wait, now we're angry that they are making more changes? Boy, I can't keep up with what is an acceptable change and what isn't.
Oh, c'mon... that's the old "nobody will ever be satisfied" straw man. It's really quite easy: in the absence of a decent release of the theatrical version, the only acceptable changes would be those that UNDO the changes that have been made between 1983 and 2006.

How do you know you've been banned? Does some message pop up or something?
A message pops up saying I've been banned.

Here's them memories: http://www.millenniumfalcon.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=1465 (Tue Jul 27, 2004 1:03 am)...and what could be the beginning of the PINK saber debate.
Would enjoy seeing it, but I've been banned. Interesting, because I've never even visited the site before!

It took me a long time for me to realizes that where problems with the 2004 dvd releases and I now I understand about all the issues with that set now but before I did'nt.
Actually that's very nice of you to say.
A part of me is tempted to join their board, and make a single post that says "hi!", just to see if that gets me banned based on my being an active member here.
I'm about 3/4ths of the way through the sound-sync of reel1. Just thought I'd give a progress report :)

If these are indeed real then where the hell is this so called colour correction that the OT has supposed to have got?
Ken already told us the good news that they'll be changed, so you needn't worry.

Also, my avatar was changed to a picture of a rat...
Wow! That could be the single most unprofessional act I've ever seen an internet forum do.

Hmm, I'm not entirely sure the average person would know whether this flyer is asking people to buy the set, or to not buy the set. It's obvious to us, but a bit cryptic for others I fear.
This sticker looks great... I'd proudly display it on my car. It would also look great as a website reference. Could go viral!

The sound for those little video clips of all 6 films on the star wars youtube channel just don't sound right. The little video clips on the starwars aficionado blogspot site and on the walmart site sound so much better. Those audio from those youtube clips will not be how it will sound when the final blu-ray's come out in September.
This is good news!

My preference is the simple Save Star Wars (.com) with the original E. The added pictures and text about Shaw are way too specific.

@ Tobes
Prove it. Prove to me that the "crushed blacks" are inherent to the actual transfer. I say this because edge-enhancement and boosting the contrast ratio was very popular in the dvd days. It gave the unknowing consumer the perception that the film was somehow more vibrant--it is the same effect that retailers do when they set their display tvs to "torch mode." Again, provide solid proof that the loss of detail was in the transfer themselves, because a couple of the screens I've seen point in the complete opposite direction.
I have stated before that I think this is entirely possible. The transfer from film to digital may have been perfectly fine.... and the transfer from there to the subsequent steps may have been where things got messed up. All that is immaterial, though... what matters is at what stage they use to start to build the blu-ray.
That depends on your definition of "soon". We're just experiencing some snail-mail-related delays.

But why a decoy for an unknown franchise in the 70s? Something seems weird about that.
Can't speak for the franchise, but Star Wars was hyped long before it was released. I remember the buzz starting many months in advance if not longer, and being really excited when it was about to come out.
... slight changes to Jabba who is now digitally expressive.
digitally expressive? What does that mean?
Sure, I imagine it would have both advantages and disadvantages.
I really don't care about the artwork at all. All I care about is whether or not they restore the theatrical versions in high quality. If they did that, I'd happily buy it even if it were in a brown paper bag with a picture of George mooning me.
I've made a DL burn of this (and your others). Love them!!!
Quick question... when I play the disk in my Sony blu ray player, the picture is awesome. But I don't get the various sound tracks. My player seems to think there is only one, a 2.1 english track. Do some players have trouble accessing the sound options after burning these sorts of files, or do I need to burn it differently?

I'm going as far as to say that since 2004 and the botched audio issues with A New Hope, and now with confirmation of added dialogue and other changes, Matthew Wood comes across as a complete douche bag who's trying to put as much of his imprint on SW as possible.
...he sounds like an idiot who's more excited about making his own changes to SW and taking credit for them rather than doing what's best for the movies,
The more I read the interview, the more I saw that too. I get the impression that at LFL, the movies are seen as a sort of sandbox that everyone gets to play in once every few years. What a warped view of classic cinema.

They're 1024x768.
Those are "bent", so can't be used for printing. Anyone have the originals that can actually be printed and inserted into a cover?
Yeah, my avatar is more handsome than sky's. :)
