Haha.  It's done now.  But keep the following in mind:

"Everytime I Die" has been rerecorded and the guitars are in better tune now.  And the melodies are played alot smoother, and the mix is better.

"The Trooper" has been rerecorded as well and sounds a bit cleaner.

"Mortal Share" has been rerecorded.

Several songs on there (Hades, Alteration, The Trooper, Mortal Share, to name a few) have midi bass, those have been replaced with a real bass.  (Didn't have a bass when I first made those)

Every song up there has been remixed, if not re-recorded.  When I get my pro plan I'll update them all.  You might want to hold off on the downloading, as the difference is noticeable.

I'm not sure... I guess I could make separate playlists to divide albums?  The reason I do this is because each album I make has a different tone and style of songs.

I agree about the newest one I've made being the best.  It's a change in style somewhat.  A little more melodic, somber, heartfelt.  The older ones are a little more aggressive and violent.

I need to get a pro account so that I can update the tracks to have the final mixes without having to reset my play count.

Also, just a plug for any audiophiles out there, if anybody is interested I do have these tracks in higher quality, going up to 96 K lossless files that sound pretty great if anybody is interested in them.  44 K lossless is available too.  (that would be CD quality. the 96 K files have a higher resolution than CD's)

When I get my next paycheck from work I'll consider getting a soundcloud pro account and then organizing my tracks into playlists and having a complete collection.

Yes I can,  I will do that when I get home tonight.  I need to re upload Every Time I Die, because parts of it have been re-recorded for better melody.  The guitars were slightly out of tune in the original.

And yes, listening to only one earbud will definitely skew your experience.  Each song usually has 4 guitar tracks.  The tracks with the lower pitched notes (that play the chords and riffs) are tracked 100% to the left and right, one track on the left and one on the right.  The melody tracks are toward the middle.  Listening with one speaker means you miss only get 2 and a half of the four tracks at a certain time.  This will make it sound unbalanced, because the side of things you are missing is likely going to cancel out the sounds which sound overdone on the side you are hearing, and vice versa, if that makes sense.  Meaning if a certain sound on the left speaker seems too loud when heard by itself, when you play the sounds of the right speaker along with it the sounds on it will dampen the sounds from the left that sound unbalanced.

Yes.  The reason is because when you upload it, you have to click a specific button to allow users to download it, and sometimes I forget.  XD

Btw, most of the songs on there have been remixed at some point.  They are essentially the same but the sound quality has changed for most of them.  Also I of course have higher quality (uncompressed) versions on my hard drive.

What were some flaws you noticed?  Not trying to be needy I'm just always looking for ways to improve.  Also the new one has been remixed slightly as well to make the piano blend in more smoothly.

Also I have lots of ones that aren't on soundcloud.  Like I said, 2 albums worth (I said 3, but it was a mistake... lol.  I'm working on a 3rd).  I have made album covers and everything but don't know what to do.  I mail them to my friends that live out of town.

My personal favorites that I've done are "Alteration" and "Hades".

Is anybody a fan of instrumental rock/metal music?  I've been working on projects for years where I take a metal song, or any song for that matter, and work it into a metal instrumental.  I actually don't want to make them instrumentals but I can't sing and I don't know anybody talented enough to make the cut.

On that note, does anybody know of any ways I could get this stuff sort of... out there where people will hear it?  I put alot of work into them, and getting 20 likes on facebook seems like underachieving.  I've recorded 30 plus songs, 3 albums worth.  I'd like people to hear it.

By working into an instrumental, I mean melodies are added.  Even though they are metal, they are very melodic.  Often the added melodies are inspired by the melody that singer would ideally be singing.

Also, does anybody know of any internet gatherings of recording musicians?  It'd be super cool to collaborate with somebody and get some vocals in this.

This is the latest song I've recorded if anybody's curious.  All guitars and bass are me.  The synth and drum are programmed midis with the best soundfonts I could fine.  Keep in mind that all recording, mixing, and mastering is done by me as well so don't expect it to be pop radio perfect, but I think it sounds listenable.  It has a reasonable eq pallette, meaning it doesn't sound thin or too bassy as many amateur recordings do.

Maybe I should make a thread about this, I just didn't want to seem too self involved.  I'm not apart of any other forums so other than facebook I'm not sure where else to share it.

It is more than just nintendo "Saying so".

*It's about the SAME CHARACTER.

*It takes place IMMEDIATELY AFTER.

*It is a NEW ADVENTURE (with a completely different story I might add) starring said SAME CHARACTER.

I guess I just don't see the logic in saying it isn't a sequel.  It's a new story about the same character from a different game in the same time period.

I DO understand your point about the other zelda games, timelines, retelling of the same legend and stuff.  That part makes sense and I understand.  But MM takes place immediately after OOT, doesn't follow the traditional zelda storyline but is about the same Link immediately after OOT.  Hell, it even directly refers to the events of OOT as leading up to it, and continues that characters path.

What would it need to make it a sequel? Be called Ocarina of Time 2?

(I've actually only played through the first bit of Majoras Mask, so I'm not sure if I'll consider it a true sequel to OOT or as it's own thing yet. Also I haven't played A Link Between Worlds at all, so that may be another instance of linking (ha!) two titles.)

Majora's mask is a sequel to ocarina of time that is also it's own thing.  It's story does not have anything to do with ocarina of time's story, except for a few things.

It's the same Link in this story.  He is walking through the lost woods with epona from oot because he is feeling lost after his big quest and because Navi left him, and he's kinda hoping to find her.  (Weird right?  I woulda said good HEY.  LISTEN. FUCK OFF.)   And as he gets his ocarina back he has to recall from his time with Zelda and play the song of time from oot to set things right.

So it is it's own thing in that it is a separate story that is not continuing the threads woven in ocarina of time, but it is also a sequel in that it is about the same character and takes place directly afterward, perhaps even weeks or months after, in the timeline.

Either way, fantastic piece of art that one.  I would even consider it tied with oot, possibly surpassing in some aspects even, as the best video game of all time.

It's beautiful, and the story is so creative as you get going.

When You Are a Movie/TV Character...
Time

-You ignore waiters/waitresses in restaraunts, don't tip them, don't order, and don't acknowledge them in any way when they miraculously still give you what you want.

-You can destroy enemies much smarter, stronger, and bigger than you just by *believing*

-When somebody does you a favor, you just look at them as they walk away. Never thank them, never let them know it helped.

-You can treat your friends like they mean nothing to you and they will still follow you around hanging on to your every word

-For that matter, every person that you talk to will hang on to your every word

-You can fight all night, get thrown through mud, get blown about by a tornado, but your hair will still look perfect.

-You care nothing for the feelings or needs of others yet are surrounded by close friends

-You're Robert Downey Jr.

Inuyasha (* unfinished project *)
Time

First off, I don’t really like anime.  But I have a love/hate relationship with the show Inuyasha.

I feel it has a great overall story and concept.  It is a massive story, that I love and adore.  It’s a story that’s very personal to me (perhaps largely because of memories associated with when I was first exposed to it)  Although the TV series has alot of filler, none of it is even bad, it’s just not really that focused.  But even the main story goes on and on and on, and while I like it in and of itself like that, I thought it would be interesting to condense it down into a much smaller series.  Actually my plan is to make it a series of films, which will contain episodes that flow together to make one story edited together.  But it’s much more than just stringing episodes together.  There is EXTENSIVE (and trust me I mean extensive… a cut every 45 seconds or so usually) editing to the content itself for a variety of reasons.

1)Tried to minimize what I think of as annoying and random outbursts of extremely emotional (and often loud and high pitched dialogue).  Anybody who is familiar with anime will know exactly what I mean.  Well I don’t like it, and I’ve tried to get rid of as much as possible of it here.

2)Removing redundant lines and subplots (seeing as this was once a weekly serial, lots of ideas are repeated and lots of things that were already explained are explained again for new viewers or for viewers who might have forgotten.  Since these episodes are now edited together this will of course be removed).  Also some subplots will be removed simply because they are superfluous when you look at the grand scheme of the story and, while they were interested when watched as a weekly show, they aren’t really needed when you look at it as one big story.

  1. Obviously commercial breaks will be edited out and opening/credits will be edited out (except for at the beginning and end… obviously)

Basically, you could say I’m editing the series down so that somebody who doesn’t like anime can watch and enjoy it.  I’m making it for myself most of all, because I don’t like anime yet I am in love with this story, and would like to see a presentation that a normal viewer not into anime can enjoy.    But I plan to share this.
