I didn’t know Conjuring was so well thought of. I liked it though.

Pretty much this. I thought it was fine, not great, but certainly better than shitty trash horror movies like NOES, Friday the 13th, and the like. It was an actual movie with actors, story, and so on.

Yeah I wouldn’t call it a masterpiece or genre defining but it’s a well made movie and a 4/10 and not as good as bird is absurd. It has a good consistent tone at least and I’d give it a 7.5/10.

Yeah modding the u to play cube games is really easy all you need is super smash bros brawl and an sd card 2gb or smaller (as in JUST SD and not sdhc). The lack of matrix pcm surround (or hell even dd surround like the PlayStation does would be preferable to simple stereo) is the only thing that bothers me. I read it was something about how they didn’t want to pay licensing fees. Ugh. Nintendo 64 games had matrix surround and the only n64 game I ever saw the dolby logo on was majoras mask. Although it was very late in the n64s life, so maybe they had gotten “busted” by that point using dolby matrix technology without providing credit.

I have a great home theater setup and it sounds fantastic, so I have to decide if it’s worth buying a new receiver that takes pcm 5.1 just for the wiiu. I’m thinking no. If only stereo mode didn’t just automatically have dolby surround like vhs tapes.

The Conjuring (2013)

4/10

It was a movie that is widely regarded to be good, but made after the 90s, and it’s Duracell. What did you expect?

Exactly what happened. Still is funny.

Yep. That most everyone considers a generic, derivative, cliched, silly, obnoxious horror film worthy of the made-for-TV or direct-to-video market something approaching above-average is, indeed, still funny.

Lol ok. Change the release date to 1995 and you would have loved it.

I always stay a generation behind on game consoles for cost. I’ve only had my wiiu less than a year and I love it. I’ve only even played two games for it so far tho, the twilight princess remake and super Mario 3d world. Have loved both. But I’ve played alot of wii and GameCube (via nintendont) games on it and I just enjoy it. The only thing I really don’t like is that the only surround it offers is 5.1 lpcm surround which my receiver can’t handle. I wish it at least offer dolby surround/pro logic surround line the regular wii did, but for some reason it doesn’t and just putting it to stereo doesn’t give any surround effects besides just ambiance that pro logic pipes back there naturally. I mean even the Nintendo 64 had games with dolby surround (both Zelda titles sound beautiful on it) but with the wiiu you’re stuck with simple stereo unless your receiver takes lpcm 5.1.

Info Wanted: Is there 5.1 surround sound on the Despecialized Editions?
Time

Yeah, honestly a 2.0 track that’s properly dolby surround encoded can sound fantastic upmixed. Better even than a 5.1 ac3 track because each channel can have more bits to it. To me a 2.0 track that’s encoded with a high bitrate will sound much closer to a dts track than a 5.1 ac3 track. That’s just my ears though, some may not agree but to me discrete channels is whatevs, surround is an immersive effect and a little channel bleeding and a little dialogue bleeding into the front left and right channels don’t diminish the immersive effect one bit, but the compression artifacts of 5.1 channels crammed into an ac3 do. Ironically on my setup the 2.0 tracks even sound warmer and have more bass.

(My receiver has a really good sound for movies but oddly enough can’t do dts so I always transcode it to a dolby surround pcm instead of 5.1 dolby and it sounds better than a dolby digital track at 5.1 would)
