Truth be told I’m almost done with my sixth album and I think it blows everything else I’ve done out of the water. I haven’t shared anything of it yet because Im not done pushing and distributing album #5 yet and I still think it’s very good and I don’t want it to get overshadowed.
I know. I meant that he’s not an 80s icon in the sense that he’s not beloved for representing the decade he was in. He’s a rock and roll/guitar icon, but not an 80s icon.
He’s too good to be an 80s icon, his legacy is timeless. His music has a unique quality of being timeless and ageless. His music always sounds current and relevant and there’s not a single thing about any of his track that would date it.
As much as I love led Zeppelin, even they can’t make that claim. While some of their music is definitely timelessly good, some of it definitely sounds dated and doesn’t have that ageless quality srv will always have. Some of their stuff will always be good but I can’t think of a single srv song that doesn’t at least sound relevant today even if I don’t like it. But then again blues rock is a more timeless genre.
Those were hardly mainstream either. SRV was never topping the charts. The fear-mongering behind metal was mainstream 80s though.
SRV was pretty big man. Maybe not Madonna big but his albums sold like crazy and mtv played his videos constantly. I’m pretty sure his first album has even gone Platinum by the time his second one has even come out. I mean he wasn’t the biggest thing in the world but he was a big deal. By the time he died he was approaching Eric Clapton status.
Stevie Ray Vaughan and the birth of extreme metal (of which I don’t really like any more like I used to but it led to the birth of swedish and Finnish melodic death metal that I still love) are the only worthwhile things outside of Cinema from the 80s for me.

Andyou shouldn’t miss much most of the highlights are still up I just mainly took down the interludes and tracks that don’t really mean anything unless you are listening to the album start to finish.
The new album has some highlights I haven’t put up yet but I put one up last night, but there’s still stuff that I probably won’t put on SoundCloud today is still worth hearing if you want the actual album, either physical or digital. There’s only a few songs of it up so there’s a whole album you’ve only heard a little bit of.

Also to Tyrphanax and whoever else has been listening to the albums on my soundcloud page, I’m sorry but I’m removing the albums as a whole (as playlists how they were) and only keeping select tracks on the page. Mainly because soundcloud doesn’t give you the option to “highlight” specific tracks, so my page is so cluttered because of my albums use of interludes and other such mood pieces that aren’t really songs, so I don’t want anybody that goes to check out my page to be overwhelmed, click on something that’s basically just an interlude that was only there to be a part of the album playlist, and give up.
I might be mixing in how Nintendo 64 emulators do it vs snes. Makes sense since the N64 has actual models and stuff. Textures and all that. Although snes9x has some very good filters that remove almost all pixelation without ruining the look of the game even on a huge screen.

With sprites, you can’t add detail that wasn’t there to begin with when projecting at a higher resolution. The Super Nintendo (assuming SNES) emulator’s tools for HD display are filters to smooth it out based on guesswork. In order to truly display a Sprite based game in HD, you need HD Sprites, which is why StarCraft: Remastered was made.
Yeah, but there’s a difference between having each sprite individually filtered and upscaled than just a blanket filter applied to the whole image.

On that note, been playing Yoshi’s Island for snes. Such a great game, so lighthearted and fun it’s like therapy. And the crayon style graphics have aged beautifully due to the fact that it went for an art style instead of realism. Rendered in hd and it still looks beautiful to this day, especially the backgrounds.
Also, playing the “pacifier” room hack, which just simply mutes baby Mario’s crying. 😃
My ex girlfriend still Leon leave me alone, and still can’t fucking grasp why I hate her. I’m dumbfounded, I honestly can’t see where the mystery is. She won’t stop telling me how she still cares about me, and I don’t understand how my responses of “go check up on your new boyfriend and fuck off” are inconclusive.
Honestly, she left me for another man days after she told me she loved me while I was on a business trip. She’s acting like I dumped her against her will or something. She can go to hell I don’t give a shit if she still cares or not I’m doing fine if she’d just live with her own decisions and fuck off, and if she still has feelings for me, well, she should have thought of that before she did this. She’s going to have to live with it, I’m not going to give her the option to have me back, make it on good terms or be friends or whatever. Maybe I’m wrong for this, but she made the decision to throw me away in this shitty way, I feel that she should have to live with the burden of me hating her and she shouldn’t get the option to have it be on better terms. She made the choice, she’s going to have to live with it. She doesn’t get to fix the terms just to erase her own guilt. I’m not going to do anything to hurt or get even with her, but I think she deserves to live with the guilt and she’s going to have to deal with the fact that I don’t accept her apology.

Doesn’t really matter if the people being “sold” include people of other races. The imagery of a black person being auctioned off in and of itself is the problem. If the ad had been entirely white players, it wouldn’t have been an issue.
None of your other examples involve a human of a minority race with a history of being sold as slaves. Auctions themselves aren’t the issue.
Hate to be that guy, but technically all races have been sold as slaves at SOME point. I agree that it is a harmful image to have black people auctioned. But not because they are black. But because racial tensions towards black people are still (at least) moderately high, and not enough time had passed. Hopefully as more time passes racial tensions will be a thing of the past and this sort of thing will be seen as what it honestly is, an innocent game, but for now, and rightly so, it’s still a sensitive subject.
