Possessed Star Wars Trilogy custom edition (* part-finished project *)
Time

Thanks for the feedback! I think much of that will be automatically resolved once the full bitrate version comes out. I’m not sure much can be done about the mos eisley sequence, I don’t think the drop in quality is distractingly bad though. The awkward cut you mention is actually in the theatrical cut as I did nothing edit wise to that sequence. You are right that it is awkwardly cut though. I will have a look to see how they handled it in the SE and if possible just use it for that spot. I have a bad feeling that’s where the jabba scene is though but I don’t remember. If nothing else perhaps I can lovingly borrow audio from adywans revisited and just leave the video crossfade as it is. (Like I did for the audio cut during the sandpeople sequence)

And honestly telecine7 deserves at least as much credit as me. I cut it all together and did the editing and sound and the (very light) color work but he did all the rotoscoping and that just seems like a huge headache and he did a great job.

STAR WARS: EP VI -RETURN OF THE JEDI "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - ** PRODUCTION HAS NOW RESTARTED **

Wow. While I wish they would have dubbed her with a woman, they definitely made the right choice dubbing her, some of those were terrible.

At least the guy they got did a good job, but the fact that they made her a guy sucks. I never knew it was originally a woman until this thread.

I’m very happy with the Beyerdynamic DT 770. They aren’t the prettiest headphones you can find, but the sound is great, they are super comfortable and they are built to last. I have the 250 ohm version and my current laptop can power them without problems (but I’m using an external soundcard anyways), my phone and mp3 player both are a little quiet.

Since they are far below your budget of $330, you should also get a soundcard with headphone amplifier, if you don’t already have one, as you will notice the difference to cheap onboard cards (even more so if you spend all of the $330 on even better headphones) and the headphone amp will definitely power the 250 ohm (or possibly even higher impedance of more expensive headphones).

If you want more mobility, you can also get a version with 80 ohm. (There are also versions with 32 and 16 ohm, but generally, you’d want to go as high as possible and 80 ohm should be fine, even for phones, if you don’t plan to listen at extreme volumes.) In that case you’d still want a dedicated soundcard for your PC, even if you don’t need it for the volume.

I forgot to address sound cards in my first post. I agree with Frank. I suggest you take some of that budget and get yourself a decent external USB DAC/headphone amp. Massdrop carries a bunch of those as well. I have both my headphones and desktop monitors hooked up to a USB DAC/amp and it smokes the motherboard’s built-in audio.

What amp do you use?

There’s no need to go this far if all you’re looking for is a better DAC/amp than what your computer provides, though. I wanted something both to drive my headphones and to send line level audio with volume control to my powered speakers. Local FLAC playback is outstanding because it skips Windows’ audio processing entirely, and the network capabilities are a nice bonus (Spotify is CD-quality when played directly through this).

Wow, that thing seems great. But, like you said, I’m just lookin for a good DAC/headphone amp. Any suggestions? I don’t have much experience with em.
Been looking at the Dragonfly series. I’m looking for something solid state in the $200-ish price range and those fit the bill. Reviews sound good.

That can’t be an accident.

The Place to Go for Emotional Support
Time

Don’t try to be friends with her then. I know it’s hard, and she doesn’t have to be doing anything wrong for you to be justified in doing that. Maybe even explain to her very plainly (and not in an emotional or distraught manner) that you have romantic feelings for her and for that reason you don’t think you can see her as friends. I know that sucks too, but it’s honest advice and I’ve been down that road and trying to be “just friends” with somebody you have romantic feelings for will multiply both your feelings and your pain, and while it may hurt now to cut her off trust me down the line you will be hurting more. Find somebody that is actually interested and you will be so much happier with everything.

My music
Time

If any of you guys like my music, please join the facebook group, The Sound Of Nails on a Chalkboard.

Being a very small name, most of the people in the group are people that I either live in close proximity to or are actually good friends with, and my personal account is the admin, so if you join please be respectful, and no star wars talk on there please. 😃

I need more ways to promote this. Maybe I should make a website or something. I’m considering spending part of my next tax return getting the rights to all the cover songs so I can actually promote it and sell it conventionally. (Getting the license for cover songs isn’t as expensive as you might think but I bet I’ve done over 100 songs, or at least close to it. I don’t get any financial gain as it is. I pay for everything out of pocket and give out the CDs for free. I don’t really mind that it’s not about money at all I just like knowing I’m entertaining people. But being able to legally charge something small like say 5 bucks a CD would go a long way to helping recoup the costs of the making the CDs. There’s alot of costs, printer ink, jewel cases, special paper for the covers, blank discs… It adds up pretty fast. And for the folks don’t digital downloads maybe something like 3 dollars an album to cover the costs of the music itself e.g. guitar strings, guitar maintenance, microphones, and possibly recoup some of the losses of getting the rights in the first place.

This is a long way off though, as of now I’m still unlicensed and everything is free.

PM’s sent to one69chev and telecine7 (who did the rotoscoping for the lightsabers and blasters in this). Sorry to the other two, but the final version should be out pretty soon anyway. No offence to you guys, but DeckardKatarn has only been here a couple weeks and Callipso said wouldn’t know when you would have time and this is just a test run. The finished version should be out soon and you guys can have it then.

Survivors' Enclave From Another Fanediting site (.org regroup thread)

Yeah and I seem to recall you saying something more along the lines of “I can’t believe you just did that” rather than “I think you should have shown her the original versions (but it’s still cool you got to have that cool experience and thank you for sharing your good news since that’s what this thread is for”. One is much more inflammatory than the other, but we’ll leave it up to the folks at home to decide which.

But hey thanks for bringing it up again. And in a whole new thread too! What captivating new ground! My favorite part of the whole thing was when we both said sorry and dropped it. I didn’t realize it was a surprise cliffhanger and not an actual ending! How exciting for us!!! And here I thought this was just gentle ribbing and posting as usual.

Glad you can make this so fun!
