Commentary! The Musical

Human or Centipede?

Centipede. My favorite character in James and the Giant Peach.

Soup of the Day, or House Dressing?

The movie's an abomination but I love the book.

Second Sequence. I don't think he can ever top it.

Pure Imagination or Rainbow Connection?

I remember watching the movie when I was younger back in Pennsylvania.  Mom fed us weird colored noodles every time we watched it.  We hated having to do that, which I think may be because of the ALIEN PASTA IN THE BEGINNING!!!  The Nostalgia Critic review for it is, IMO, the funniest Nostalgia Critic video ever done.

Pure Imagination

The following post should help you clear most of your questions on this:

Notes on Piracy - Please Read

I've read it already.  I'm asking if an HDTV-sourced project was scaled down to Standard Definition, if it'd be okay to get it when you only have the DVDs.

Why do you have to keep your cool for 2 weeks to buy a BRD with your own money?

If your Dad offered to buy the movie with his money if you were good for 2 weeks, that would make more sense.

Why else?  Because I was the one who was making the deal, and I was desperate for him to say yes.  Besides, it was only $10. ;)

You should own copies on DVD if you are going to download DJ's.

Okay, then.  I can get the individual GOUT DVDs pretty cheap used on Amazon; I'll use my own money.  However, there's something in the way, as well.  Have I ever told you the story about how I got the Lost in Space BD?  I suppose I haven't, so here it goes.

Ever since my family got our Blu-Ray player (it's useless now, but it wasn't back then), I wanted to get a movie I liked on Blu-Ray.  Yes, I chose Lost in Space when I could've chosen ANYTHING else.  It was just the first cheap movie I could find on BD.  I wanted it more than anything.  So, I came to my dad and made a deal.  If I spent two solid weeks without blowing up in anger, I'd buy the LiS BD with my own money.  He agreed, and it took, like, two months for me to keep cool for two weeks in a row.  Then it took two weeks for the blasted thing to get here.  But now, I have it, and enjoyed it while I could.  I can only see the same story with the GOUT.  I'll tell him the same thing: I'll do the two weeks and use my own money.

Here's another question: Is owning a DVD enough to get the SD version of the Despecialized Edition?

Maybe I should make this more clear. Take a movie title, then add another movie title starting with the last word of your original movie title. Or at least keep it close. This isn't a "Mixing Up Move Titles" thread.

Black Rain Man

Land of the Lost Boys

Cloverfield of Dreams

"The Secret of NIMH's Island" was close, right?

Yes...  YEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!

My dad finally agreed with the OT.com rules about piracy.  I read him "Notes on Piracy," and said it would be okay if I already owned the movies to download the preservations.  I don't know if he had a change of heart, or I misinterpreted him earlier, or anything else.  Whatever the case, he's letting me get a preservation.

Now, the thing is, do I need to own the GOUT DVDs to get a preservation, or is the '95 Faces VHS enough?  And, with the HD Despecialized Edition ruled out due to the fact that I need those awful Blu-Rays to get them, could I get DJ's V3?

Hey great! Bet you're really going to enjoy them. I really don't know if having only the VHS will do. I got those damn 2006 discs when they came out so never wondered about this.

Can't you get a friend or relative to burn BDs for you? If not, get them anyway if you have space available. I did just that and will burn them when I either get a BD burner or meet someone that does, in the mean time I connected the PC to the tv to watch them.

Well, I don't have a BD burner, I don't know anybody who can...  Wait, are you talking about Harmy's Despecialized Edition or the Official Blu-Rays?

Indiana Jones and the Rats of NIMH

Boy, I literally made this up weeks before I found this thread!

You are supposed to use the whole title of each movie. Or at least make it apparent which two movies you are joining :p

And one of them isn't even a movie...  Oops.

The Secret of NIMH's Island

Dunno how your respective systems handle surround downmixing, but I'm quite certain I heard it, and I'm just getting stereo audio from my BD player via my TV.

If only I could somehow lose the "NOOOOO" like you're apparently losing "You could use a good kiss!", I'd be content!

In the case of both my TV Speakers AND my computer speakers (both of which are pretty old), there are instances where one speaker stops working, leaving the other speaker being the only one to work.  Some of the audio I listen to suffers from this, especially those that are heavy on stereo panning.

Han's "You could use a good kiss!" goes off into the left channel, so maybe his left channel stopped working.  Not to say that it's definitely the problem, and he's more than likely using a new-ish HDTV, but I'm just throwing my experience out there.
