MattmanOmega's Rebellion Collection & 720p AVCHD of OT Theatrical Vers. (Released)
Time

Thanks for changing the title :)

I started fresh late last week with work for the original film on AVCHD, so I'll go ahead and redo the 720p Empire while I'm at it.  If those turn out well (or as well as can be expect with GOUT), I'd definitely like to redo the DVDs with similar scripts.

Although, future DVDs will probably ditch the 5.1 upmix.  It hasn't impressed my sound system as much as I'd hoped ;)

I'll try to post a few screengrabs of the new Star Wars within the next few days to see what everyone thinks.

Empire Strikes Back looks quite nice.  Did you clean up the source in any way beyond the bonus DVD ?

Thanks.  I did what cleaning and tweaking I could, partially based on scripts I'd seen by G-force and Moth3r.  Some of it was done in AviSynth and some was done through filters in VirtualDub.

But, to be perfectly I honest, I wish I would have given myself more time.  I put together the DVD collection with the goal of having it ready for Christmas (for those friends I would never spend actual money on).  Since then, I've found a lot of things I would have done differently...some of which wound up in my first AVCHD of Empire.

Dark_Jedi's not using the time-compressed LDs, since those would be generally more difficult to work with than the ones that aren't time-compressed.

The non-time-compressed ones alone have enough differences in frame counts compared to the GOUT that some stretching - and possibly some filling-in from the 85 or 93 mixes - may be necessary to create a complete, synchronized track.

I realize that.  But, for my own custom project, I may only be able to gain access to the time-compressed LDs...which brings me back to my question:  Is a pitch-change from the studio's speed-up of these discs?  Thanks ;)

Hi guys,

I'm a long-time lurker, first-time poster who finally decided to get in on the action.

I keep seeing references on the pages in this section to the time-compressed CLV LaserDiscs, but have yet to take a look at any of these LDs myself.  All I currently have are the various U.S. letterbox LDs.

Please forgive my ignorance, but is there a pitch change in the audio of these time-compressed discs (like in the speed-up from film to PAL), or was the pitch corrected in the studio?  If so, wouldn't it be relatively easy to stretch the audio mixes from these LDs to sync up to the GOUT video (aside from the extra frames)?
