What bothers me is the super high DOF, everything is in focus, even far into the background.

Id like to see it only white. Really but it would make the shot monochrome.
Ady said that vader in ROTS shouldnt cross his hands.
Plus no glass reflections and original palps here.
-Angel
why remove the glass reflections? If anything those should be added to the OT.
yeah. I dont like how Mark ecko fits (very loose) but those are very cool. I liked the Boba Fett one they had a while back.
vaderios said:doubleofive said:I'm thinking the moon should be completely dark at this point.
Almost because if its black we lose the sense of space and perspective. Or we can add Endor behind the moon to add depth.
I added some Fleet and vader's ship (where did it go?)
-Angel
WOW. that is a beautiful shot!
When I set up my printer in my dorm I'll be sure to scan it, and yes, that is the shot.

The shot they show is a cg shot from the SE doh....The section is about matte work btw
If I were you I'd contact the publisher and inform them of the error. Maybe they can fix it for the next edition.
hmm....do you think they would require that I have some sort of source to back up my claims? (I mean other than the films themselves of course)
ChainsawAsh said:Damn. I had that book for Aesthetics of Cinema (or possibly History of Cinema) back in freshman year, and I just looked to see if I still had it ... I don't.
Yeah, I'm a freshman in college and I have the book for my film aesthetics and analysis class and my east west cinema class. I was just skimming it and it actually seems to be a pretty comprehensive book, but that was just a stupid mistake...

couldn't he just google him or go on peoplefinder...lol

Yeah, Anakin was always quite daft, so I guess it makes sense to change Vader's character a bit to follow suite.
"How is this possible? The man who pulled the wool over the eyes of the galaxy for all those years, and manipulated me and lied to me personally countless times told me she had died, so there is no doubt she had really died. Since galactic technology is pretty low tech and primitive, there is absolutely no way the baby could have been saved by medical means... oh man! I am so confused! Ooooh, my head hurts! Ouch, gotta stop trying to force myself to think so hard! Gotta go meditate on this."
Nobody listen to Dr. Ball, he's just an old fool!
what is this the bloody dark ages! Why don't you just put some leeches in there!
tried the beta, liked it, but didn't use it extensively.
why not put a blur over the red droid to make it look out of focus?
I like color tinting in films as long at they don't go overboard. I liked warm tones in HBP
I think I prefer the music mix in Ady's clip. I like how it peaks when the danger becomes apparent. However, since it is supposed to be band music, I think Paul's clip probably makes more sense, and I like the STIII alien in there :)
Josh said:Zomg! THAK YOU. Although I thought it would be a download but whatever lol. There are some new additions since the last time I saw it, like that weird alien smoking, wheres that from, not from blade runner. Ya, if this baby had its color correction refined, it would be amazing.
Now, who thinks it feels OT
Oh and heres you cookie
I think the alien is from Star Trek III: The Search for Spock
UPDATE: Changed the title, it's a hint to what might be unique about this edit...:)
This movie was a ridiculous bloated mess, but I felt there were some redeemable parts scattered throughout. I felt that if the majority of the distracting crap could be cut, then we could have a pretty good action movie on our hands. Preliminary thoughts:
Skids and Mudflap have GOT TO GO! I just cringed every time they were on screen.
I actually thought the little deception was kind of funny, but I’m probably in the minority here.
Cut out most of the goofy humor
The final action sequence went on WAY to long. I really stop caring about what was going on pretty quickly
Sam and his Dad’s interaction late in the film was actually one of the only touching moments in the film. I thought it gave the character some real depth.
Devastator scrotum has to go
use of Green Day’s 21 guns was totally out of place in such a gung-ho, campy action movie. The whole song is about “laying down your arms” and “giving up the fight” which doesn’t fit at all.
CUT CUT CUT. WHole scenes can go that had no story relevance. Also the whole part about the Deceptions having to kill Sam and get the shards made no sense. It ended up being about the matrix and The railguns anyway.

You could use the AVCHD for everything you want to put back that's in the SE but not Revisited and the GOUT for everything that's only in the OOT
That's exactly what I was planning to do, but the problem is that I can't do anything with the AVCHD disc - it's sitting on my hard drive taking up space. If you know of a way to convert it to a usable format on a Mac, please let me know!
And yeah, I know the GOUT video stands out way too much - at the moment it's just a placeholder. I'll most likely end up replacing the entire shot if a few frames are missing from Revisited, since even adding the individual frames back in will cause issues (I'm mainly thinking of the repainted Revisited lasers versus the non-repainted AVCHD ones).
I take it you didn't notice the sped-up shot? Excellent ... *insert Mr. Burns hand gesture*
And DJ, I don't need any specific shots at the moment - honestly, I won't know what portions of your cleaned-up GOUT I'm going to need until I've finished the rough assembly. At the moment, I think the main things I'll need are Mos Eisley, the establishing shot of Ben's hut, the establishing shot of Artoo in the valley (I may keep the Revisited version, though), the Alderaan explosion ...
If you want to just PM me your address, I'll send you the three dual-layer discs so you can send me the full versions of all three, since I really won't know what I'll need until I get to the point when I need it.
Handbrake will do it, but only into an mkv or something and not losslessly. You might have to convert it again after that

something about the look of Endor is really unappealing, It looks low-res or something. Perhaps someone could create some more detailed Endor mattes?
Nice. I'm a final cut person, but the avid interface looks very slick

surely you didn't hate UP?
ChainsawAsh said:Up. Pixar's new movie. Bingowings described exactly how the lead evil dog, named Alpha, is introduced.
I loved that movie, except for that part. I think showing him with the squeaky voice at the beginning ruins his humiliation towards the end of the movie. If he had the deep voice all along it would be funnier
sketchrob said:Octorox said:I think Wookie's is higher quality (it's compressed on a freakin BD-50, Ady's is DVD9) but Ady's has better color correction judging by those screenshots.
This is a ridiculous statement, all WG did as up the bitrate when recompressing the GermanHD transfers, and seeing as how there is no DTS to draw from I'll assume he did the same for the audio. Just cause its 45 gigs doens't make it 1080p its an upscale convert, I could jack up the bitrate on any video and get a 100 gig file doens;t mean theres any more detail to be had. If you feel the need to have a BD with DVD quality detail to go on ahead but 45gigs is crazy talk for this download.
dlbsyst said:It looks liike he is releasing a final version.
From the abhdtv.net forum.
Wookie Groomer:
"I am building the final Bluray ISO that is about 45GB and has a nice little 10 minute TriScreen vignette feature showing the differences between the color adjustments and the original. Plan on seeing that final release in the next couple days. This is the final and is the bluray template I will be using for the remaining trilogy".
-Will
Got time for a 10 minute vignette but not screenshots? or a sample clip? oh wait I forgot... we suck. :p
well the original was 16gb. this is compressed to 50gb and ady's was compressed to about 8gb. Of course the quality is going to be better, however a BD25 definetely would have been enough
Plus the german broadcasts are 1080p, not DVD quality
I think Wookie's is higher quality (it's compressed on a freakin BD-50, Ady's is DVD9) but Ady's has better color correction judging by those screenshots.
