A question for OBtwosy:

Do you have a copy of the logo you are using that isn't filled with holes? Your magic wand tool or masking tool looks like it didn't select the image properly.

I'd love to use it for another project I am working on.

I'll check - just got back from a business trip and am headed out the door again... and the new forum software is throwing me for a loop.

RUB3N,

I'm just as excited as you to get Revisted, but I figure if I have to wait 2 or 3 days for it to show up on torrents or preferably on Rapidshare it is well worth the wait.

It's always fun to watch these boards around a new release

It's like a great white feeding frenzy...

... and there currently there seems to be blood in the water

Is anyone out there able to get NTSC copies of my docos to an address in the USA quickly.

I've actually made updated PAL versions of each but the Miami Underground Film Festival can't play PAL discs. So I need either NTSC copies of my original releases or a VERY quick conversion of the PAL discs that are already out with the MUFF dude.

Can anyone help?

Thanks
JD

JD,

did the DVDs I sent arrive in time?

AWESOME! Don't you dare start over!

I'll be using Ady's! Mine can be scrapped since I wasn't planning to do disc art anyway.

Great minds....

I say we go with Ady's!

Here's a very quick, rough mockup of discart for those who desire it. The DS is not very good res, since I'm screen cap-ing it off the avi on my computer. Ady, any way I could get a higher-res of this shot of the DS?

this is a small, lo-res mockup, not intended to a downloadable graphic yet

I wanted to go very minimalist with wording. in fact, if I used disc art I would do this without any words at all

thoughts?

Noooooooo. Give me the original. The SE looked like the Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors - it actually made it less menacing to me. I like the mystery of not knowing what lies below the surface rather than the 'beak'.

Yeh, i just checked it out and it does suffer badly from compression artifacts. Is there any chance you could post a different version with the jpeg compression setting set to maximum & possibly with higher res too, unless that is the res that you worked on. It would be a shame to have such a good cover in poor quality.

I'm pretty sure it's just compression artifacts... I'll double check when I get home tonight

I think the original was 27.3 cm x 18.3 cm at 300 dpi

Now, regarding the trooper with the raised brow on his helmet. This is known as the 'Move Along' trooper helmet, and a lot of replica trooper prop collectors try to capture the look of this particular helmet. I, along with many others, feel that it doen't need altering at all.

^^^ good to know - thanks Chris!!

since we're close to the edit's availability

anyone who is interested in this cover:
http://img2.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/03b62600e1.jpg

can find it
here (Edited to Rapidshare link)

watched it again last night Ady on a 156" projection system. pretty good quality from my quick avi to DVD transfer, but the DVD5 & DVD9 will be amazing I'm sure.

Obviously, I'm in no way asking you to correct these next bits, but thought I would throw them out there. And perhps I missed a post saying whether these have been changed....

A friend who was there is part of the 501st Stormtrooper group here and noticed a coupel stormtrooper issues -
- the ST who says of Leia "she'll be alright" after stunning her has been missing his grey stripes on his helmet (by the "breathing tube" section on the side) ever since 1977 original
- the ST who talks to Luke & Ben as they enter Mos Eisley. His black stripe above the eyes is more of a slight "frown" than straight across. I'll try and post pics later, as I'm already late to work

Beyond those 2 silly little things, the guys I showed it to LOVED it - audible gasps. I had to refrain from blurting out, "now watch this!"

I know it's been a source of controversy here, and I'm not seeking to open that can again, but they really liked the addition of the music during the duel, as well as the Emperor's theme in the conference room.

There are too many things they really liked to mention here, but all this to say, "Well done!"

Most stunning of all, even better than the Death Star reveal, was the brilliant idea that Han shoot first instead of Greedo. It must've been a lot of work to remove Greedo's initial shot, but I couldn't detect anything off: well done!

Thanks to your change, Han now acts in self defense. That's a good start, because it allows his character to really GROW in the course of the trilogy. Instead of just drifting through situations, we can watch the films with new eyes and experience his metamorphosis into a relational human being.

It's still pretty subtle, though, and my first time through your edit I missed it.

You've already changed Lucas' intention for the character, and IMHO you've changed it much for the better...

You do realize, of course, that in 1977 Greedo did not fire at all, right? Ady returned Han's character to the original theatrical. It's why so many of us freaked during our first viewing of the SE when Greedo then fired first and Han did his un-natural jump-cut to the left.
In the SE, Lucas changed Han's scoundrel nature, thus weakening the character and the film (not to mention the awful editing mess it created).

before 1997, Han was a stronger character, who did grow throughout the OT.

thanks for the restoration Ady.

and also - btw - the proposed "Tarantino" Han would be overkill (pun fully intended)
