Unbearable HC
Time
Padme and Qui-Gon don't belong in ROTJ. Qui-Gon has no connection to Luke or the original trilogy. He would be just another out of place attempt to "connect the prequels-original trilogies". Padme appearing would be worse, IMHO. At least Qui-Gon could logically do it. But Padme has no way to appear, not having any force abilities. She would be out of place, and don't really see her adding anything to that scene. I would think it would also distract from the other point that Anakin made peace with Obi-Wan, the other major relationship in the prequels. The original trilogy was Luke's, moreso than Anakin's movies. Of course, I also want Sebastian Shaw back as Anakin, so maybe I'm a bit set on the originals.

mabye I'm in the minority here, but I didn't mind too much the Qui-Gon learned how to be a force-ghost explanation. If nothing else, it might keep Lucas from adding Mace, and every other Jedi that ever showed up in the prequels to ROTJ. (Hope I didn't just give Lucas an idea.) But yes, I think that Vader disappeared, and only the suit was burned.

Blu-Ray Attacks Microsoft, Microsoft Bites Back
Time
Microsoft claims that there isn't as much of a difference in the capacity of Blu-Ray and HD-DVD as Sony would like for you to beleive. The higher capacity was only acheived in test conditions in a lab and isn't really possible for real-life use. Of course, they are now backing HD-DVD, so both sides in this aren't too credible, I guess. The best idea I saw was a player planned by Samsung, I think, that will be dual format and read both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray. Sounds like a solution to me. At least whichever format wins, your player will support it.

Your not serious? The Holdiay Special?
Just kidding. No, actually besides the extreme cheesiness, stupid songs, etc. It is interesting because it shows the daily life of a family in the Star Wars universe. Not many other SF shows have really done that. Now putting it into the Databank would be a bit much to ask. Next thing you know, you'll want it on DVD and an O-OT release as well.

They haven't totally disowned the Holiday Special, they just sort of find ways to skirt about the issue. I think an EU book or two was going to have a different family situation for Chewbacca, with no wife and kid/different wife and kid or something like that, and Lucasfilm denyed permission, and made them go with his family as shown in the Holiday Special.

Info Wanted: Star Wars Special Edition supplement material
Time
Another collection of "supplemental material" was put together by OCPmovie and called "Special Edition Hype" It has several TV making of shows aired at the time, one from Fox, one from MTV, and another from Sci-Fi channel. Jedi/Feta put together the Making of The Special Edition documentary from the Laserdisc collection with their 97SE DVD release. So you might want to check those two discs out.

I guess they still have lightgun games available, but not many since the NES. Duck Hunt returns!

The Revolution won't NEED a lightgun with it's controller. Haven't you read the first 40 posts?

ok, the shell/'motion control will work like a lightgun. same results in the end. Perhaps I didn't word my post the best.

Comics Fans

Anyone in here ever see the Captain Marvel serial, done in the 1940's? It is ranked among the best serials made. They took several liberties with the character and so it isn't exactly like the comics, but most serials made did similar stuff with licensed characters.
Now I'm not sure a Captain Marvel movie could make it today and make it, but it was done once and was a good film.

If they had just said upfront there was a sex minigame or deleted it, this wouldn't be a problem.

Did Rockstar Games know this was in there when they released it, or was it put in there by some programmer/group of programmers and the rest of the company had no idea? I didn't follow the whole GTA conterversy too closely, but personally I'm not sure that it isn't really something they could of helped and therefore something you could even blame them for, but the actions of an individual programmer. Sure, the company is still responsible, though. But my point is, did the company know this was in it, or was it a suprise to them as well?

Idea & Info: Extra Bonus Discs & exclusive store bonus discs?
Time
The Indiana Jones Best Buy exclusive was a bonus feature on one of DigialFreakNYC's Indiana Jones releases, but I don't remember which one off the top of my head. As for the Star Wars Wal-Mart one, I'd be suprised if someone around here doesn't include that as a part of a collection or something in the future. I'd be suprised if there aren't other exlusives that haven't gotten similar treatment and been fan-released.

I have to give credit where credit is due. Unlike many of the recent Lucasfilm releases, with poorly done covers, the boxset for this one actually looks good. Now the covers for the individual discs might still be lousy, but so far the art looks much better than the previous release.

Edit: Lucasfilms Star-Wars related stuff, I should add. The Indiana Jones set was ok, IMHO.
