Idea: Another Star Trek Phase 2 idea

Kirk's first death, in Gen, was awesome. His second death was not. So, I hope to be able to keep Kirk alive, at the end. The ideal would be to have Picard say "You have a few friends in this century." (McCoy might still be alive, Scotty should be, Spock surely is, but he's unreachable. And Demora would be glad to see him, if her heart could take the shock).

I don't really know for sure, but I think that McCoy was supposed to have been at the very beginning of the first Next Generation Episode, as a very old man.

Idea: Another Star Trek Phase 2 idea
Time
My suggestions would be the following on making the movies into Star Trek: Phase 2 Episodes.
1. I don't know if it is possible, but could one eliminate the entire cadets on a training voyage angle from Star Trek 2? I would think that by cutting out some key lines, it would be possible. Plus, it doesn't really add anything to the story.
2. Forget about ST: Generations. That movie was about the next generation, and not really about the original cast except for Kirk. I would think that any Generations edit would have to make it an episode of ST:TNG, not Star Trek Phase 2. At least don't let Kirk die for such a poor reason and in such a lousy way, if you are going to do it. I didn't think either death in Generations was fitting for him.
Good luck on this project!

Unorthodox Star Wars Beliefs
Time
While some of the ideas are very interesting, I have to strongly disagree about the "balance of the force" means numerical superiority. Although there were two lightside(Yoda and Obi-Wan) and two darkside jedi(Palpatine and Vader) at the end of ROTS, They aren't equal in any way. Clearly the Sith are running things. How is it "equality" when you have sith oppressing the galaxy, enslaving entire races, building death stars, and blowing entire planets full of people away while the good side are forced to hide to keep from being killed themselves. Having the sith in charge isn't any sort of "balance". The way the prophecy was mis-read was that no one figured that the chosen one would become Vader before ending the Sith.

Am I the only one who finds it rather... I don't really know the word I'm looking for.. that this.. from a girl that just a few years ago was doing things like "The Princess Diaries" and "Ella Enchanted"??

I guess she was tired of doing the teenage princess roles?

What If Ian Had Said No To Appearing In Empire Strikes Back?
Time
Originally posted by: Gaffer TapeAnd I'm curious, Number 20, how could he have done that scene without Ian and make it as close to Ian as he wanted?

There is a post in ESB Classic Edition thread where OCPMovie explains how he did it. But he used Ian's dialouge from the DVD, he just re-edited the lines to match the ESB emperor.

In my opinion, Ian did a great job throughout the prequels, even in ROTS. Yes, he was a bit over the top, but not overly so. The worst thing about ROTS, in my opinon, was the lousy make-up job they did for the emperor. Did they even see ROTJ? He didn't look anything like he did in ROTJ. The ROTJ make-up looked good. the ROTS make-up looked like a joke.

Lucas could of gotten it done with Ian McDiarmid, one way or another.
BTW, who here has seen the Ian McDiarmid dialouge as re-edited by OCPMovie for ESB:Classic Edition. It is Ian, but redone so it doesn't have all the goofy dialouge changes, but the original dialouge. And it keeps the original ESB emperor. It was great, and if Lucas had re-done it that way, I would of approved of the change.

Rikter has Superman IV extended. I believe that he has it on his 'to be uploaded' list. So it should be on myspleen soon...

WOW thats excellent, I was going through the superman home page, and found all these deleted scenes from the movie, jus screen caps but I cant beleive they cut out soo much!

On the other hand I also read an interview with Salkind and I'm glad to hear that there will 5 new DVD's coming our this summer, Superman I, II, III, IV and Supergirl.

They cut quite a bit out of this film. But be forewarned. I'm not sure what specific extended scenes you are talking about, but there were supposed to be several extended scenes that were seen by some industry insiders at about the time Superman IV came out. These extra scenes were hidden away and have not been seen since then. So Rikter's disc should have all "available" scenes, there are more that are, at least for now, lost to the ages.
