Can someone PM the info on this to me?
Can someone PM the info on this to me?
The links are all dead.
Wow. Some people.
Anyway, regarding the impending BD 2.1. If it's at all possible, I would like to have the new covers and disc art available to me when it is ready so I can put it all together for sharing. Since the BD is obviously the largest size, my fiber-optic connection will come in handy to get 2.1 out there.
Harmy, my connection is once again yours when it's time. :)

V2.1 sounds good. And the fixes will only be done to the BD. No AVCHD v2.1.
Sounds like a plan. I will definitely delete the MKV once I have the BD. Since it's a large file, I'll do what I can to share and help seed it.
New audio tracks downloaded and muxed without a hitch! Thanks again to hairy_hen, bilditup1, and of course, Harmy!
Congrats, Puggo! PM sent!
Thank you, hairy_hen!
Damn you, SendSpace! Gotta wait an hour to finish one of these? Sheesh!

I don't know what the DVD5 looks like (I'm gonna have to get it when I get home, as I can't use torrents here) but otherwise I'd say that v2.0 looks anything but DVNred and waxy.
Agreed. There is no way in hell that any part of this looks "processed" on the MKV. Perhaps it is a product of the extreme loss in quality from HD to DVD5?

Let's make the Originals known to all the fans out there with these preservations.
^^ Fixed. Ease up, Frink. English isn't his first language, but his heart's in the right place. :)

I am (VERY SLOWLY) downloading the covers and wanted to ask, are they already at the proper size for a printer to produce them for a BD case? Or, will they need to be resized?
What covers are you talking about and where are you d/ling them from? And yes, like it was stated before 'Undercoverxp' is a great program for printing out covers.
The covers are linked in the first post.
Why are you using the short version of the Fox Fanfare, or rather an edit of the Cinemascope version? And the SE music from Jabba's Palace? I'm guessing this isn't a restoration of the original then. I'm still interested in hearing your final result for The Emperor Arrives.

I didn't do any resizing and they fit the BD case perfectly.
Thanks for the reply. Did you just open the images (like with Image Viewer or the like) and print, or did you take them into a certain program, like for disc labeling and such?
I've always wanted to cobble together a film-accurate version of The Emperor Arrives, including the bit at the end from The Emperor's Throne Room, but I never got around to doing it. I like what I hear so far!
That was not my intent and I apologize. I in no way feel I am entitled to anything. I was under the impression that the MKV wasn't going to get anymore attention, but now it is cleared up and I am aware that h_h is on the case. I really didn't want to have to download the AVCHD so I was concerned. So let's all please stop with the swipes at each other, and resume regular programming.
Sorry for the drama. Back on topic!
Thanks for the instructions, bilditup1. Getting a warning for being concerned about the quality is ridiculous, but it is what it is. I've never received one at any forum I have ever visited before. And I am the one that is told to chill!
No shit, Sherlock. I am just venting my concern because it was stated that no new MKV files were going to be made by Harmy. I see now that h_h is going to do the fix himself. So, I patiently await the new information on the fix.
Take it easy with the tone of your posts. Consider this your first warning. Please review the very simple rules:

OK, so, the AVCHD will get a reupload once I mux it with the new tracks. The MKV won't!!! I'm just gonna add the info into the nfo and that's that. I'll make sure all audio is OK in the BD release.
So there will be no audio fixes for the MKV? Isn't the AVCHD at a lower bitrate, making whatever fixes applied to it not as high in quality as the MKV?
This is going to get beyond frustrating before it's all over with. Can someone just please confirm if the MKV is going to be fixed or not, and how to obtain the fix?
Thanks.
Lol dude, chill out.
hairy_hen (two pages ago) said that he'll be re-releasing the 640kbps AC3 as well.

You can use either the 640kbps AC3 or the 448kbps AC3 with the already-released MKV; you just have to remux it yourself - because, as Harmy said in the above quote, he won't be remuxing the MKV - or else use the dub functionality in Media Player Classic.
In any case, hairy has also said that the issues are far less pronounced with the 640kbps AC3 originally released on the mkv:

Outside of the first 30 secs of it (the Fox Fanfare), I didn't notice any issues with it on my surround system, anyway.
I'll "chill out" once I know the situation is resolved. I hope there will be instructions and links to any programs we might need when the fixed audio is available.

Then maybe WAV? It would be a pity if it were only mp3.

I'm always down for a new attempt at this score. Thanks for committing to it! I'm an audio guy myself, and I love bringing vinyl and other things into digital. It'll be interesting to hear what you've got for sure. Is this going to be FLAC?
Damn. Is there a particular audio track(s) that I need to download for the MKV? Do the instructions for the sync fix apply to it?
Frustrating as hell.
Wow, still no answer so I'll try again.
Is the MKV not effected by this revelation about the sound on the AVCHD? Or, does the MKV have to also be remuxed with a fix?
So the MKV is fine and does not need to have any audio fixes (aside from the sync that was resolved), and this only effects the AVCHD?
Looks like everyone has the AVCHD handled then, so I will forgo downloading it and making torrents.
