Monkey Island is back!
Time

Well, this new Monkey Island series is developed by Telltale Games, which consists of a bunch of former Lucasarts employees. It looks like they're basically trying to bring back all the stuff that the fans love but Lucasarts doesn't seem to give a rat's ass about. In fact, I believe that their Sam and Max series resulted from the fact that the team was working on a Sam and Max sequel for Lucasarts, but Lucasarts canceled the game, so they quit, formed their own team, licensed the rights from Steve Purcell, and made their own games.

TL;DR

Telltale Games = Rebel Alliance

Lucasarts = Empire

Well, it looks like they're being extremely faithful to the original game. Like, REALLY faithful. So faithful that you can switch between old and new graphic schemes mid-game.

I'm actually really excited about this, because I thought that the addition of voice-overs in the third game gave the series exactly what it needed, and so I'm really happy that I'll now be able to play the original game with full voice-overs. Something tells me I'm going to buy this, and then just play it with the old graphics just so I can have the voice-overs. :P

It's being developed by Telltale Games, the guys responsible for bringing back Sam and Max; and like those games, "Tales of Monkey Island" will be in episode format. But they got Dominic Armato back to voice Guybrush!

Speaking of the first game, this is also being released soon as well:

The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition

It's got new graphics, full voice-overs, and live recorded music, but it's built right on top of the code for the original game. You can even switch between the old graphics and the new ones mid-game!

Episode II: Shroud of the Dark Side (the TM edit) (Released)

By the way, PaulisDead2221, since you're talking about re-recordings, I was the one who did the voice of Lama Su, in case you need that (or hell, anything else for that matter) re-recorded. Now I'm in university and there's a nice media library with some high quality mics I could use if need be. Hell, I could probably ask one of the film professors if there's somewhere I could record voice-overs.

Just for the record though, I was 17 when I recorded that Lama Su dialogue. I'm 20 now, and smoked about a pack a day for about a year and a half in between, so my voice sounds a little different now than it did then. :P

I know mine is a 2007 but it looks exactly the same as that one, except mine has Vance & Hines Custom Exhaust and a Pro Performance HyperCharger.

Now that is a REAL bike!

You know what's great about a forum like this is that you can use phrases like "Pro Performance HyperCharger" and none of us will have any idea what it means, so you automatically sound cooler than us. Doesn't that make you feel special? :D

Whaddya say we get to know each other a little?
Time

I've been on this forum for quite a while (a little over four years now; my, how time flies!), but I still don't know the majority of you very well, so I thought this would be a good place for us to get to know each other a bit better? What do you guys do for a living? If you're a student, what kind of stuff are you studying?

I'll start: I am currently nearing the end of my second year at the University of Alabama, and I'm majoring in physics with a minor in astronomy (and I'm also thinking about taking a second minor in mathematics, if they'll let me).

You don't have to participate if you don't want to, obviously. :P

as for the challenge i was giving, here ill put it simple with the number of stars that are out there or even in our galaxy why isn't the night sky way brighter then it was, cause realistically at and point you look up at in the sky there are probably 5 or 6 stars in your line of sight. and if space is empty there should be nothing to prevent the light of those stars from reaching us. So why is the night sky doted with stars NOT jam packed with them?

I know this is an old post, but do you live in a desert or in a city?  Typically, if you live in a city, you can only see the brightest stars (ones closest to us) due to the city lights.  Even if you shade your eyes, you can still only see a few stars.  Take a trip out to the desert where it's pitch black and you can suddenly see all kinds of stars.  Hell, you don't even have to go out to the desert, just go anywhere far enough from the city lights and you'll see them.

My point is that the night sky is jam packed with stars, you just can't normally see them unless you live in some remote area because the sky is lit up from the city lights.  You also have the atmosphere to deal with, but your average astronomer can't really get past that.  This is why telescopes are placed out in the desert and why NASA has been putting telescopes into space since the 90s.

Also, Shimy's post assumes that space is empty. I'm not even sure that there is such a thing as completely empty space. There is always some form of matter or energy or some type of particle present in space.  As for why the sky is dotted with stars and not jam-packed with them, this isn't an old question, and the answer is that it is jam-packed with stars, but since a) the universe is expanding, and b) light moves at a finite speed, this causes a few things to happen. First of all, the light has not reached us yet, and if it has, then it is millions, if not billions, of years old. Secondly,  a good portion of the light will have been shifted out of the visible spectrum.
