Actually, yes you can. My dad bought one about three years ago that had all kinds of problems. He opened up the shell and discovered that it didn't even have a cooling fan in it. It barely even works now.

I heard about it, but I'm sure it will suck. I think I heard somewhere that Ashton Kutcher will be Ash. Now all the younger generation (a.k.a. my generation) will forget about the old one and always refer to the NEW one. I hate it when that happens. Just like no one else my age has ever heard of the original "House of Wax with Vincent Price.

Exactly my point. There are different versions/translations of the Bible, and the King James version is the main Protestant version, and was written in Shakespearean times. In the Catholic Church, or at least the ones I've attended (and the ones which would have been most abundant during the times of the first Crusade), the King James Version is NOT the version used.

Anyway, I'll look for this MST3k version of Clonus Horror, should be fun to watch.

Well, then he must have meant 3000 since you say the show was in 1966, yet the movie came out in 1979

Not that I'm agreeing or disagreeing about the difficulty of each game:

1. Skating is going to be more difficult than running. Possible exception: football in the rain (mud).
2. Twice your size? No. However, fighting in hockey is tolerated. Football does not allow it at all. I would have to consider Hockey to be the rougher of the 2 sports.
3. The end zone is as wide as the field, and all you need is for the guy with the ball to cross the plane. In hockey, you've got a (forgive the factual errors, you get the point I hope) 6x5 goal area that you must hit the puck into, assuming you can get it past the guy in the padding that fills some 75% of that area.

1. The skating would make hockey faster, but in football you're under about 30 pounds of padding, running as fast as you can trying to catch a pass (if you're a receiver), which would at least make it more strenuous, in my opinion. Plus I've heard of broken legs and ankles resulting from cleats getting stuck in the ground with large men tackling them.
2. In the heat of the moment, it's kinda hard to fight one particular person when every other player on the opposing team is trying to tackle your ass too.
3. Yes, but you have to get the ball past a line of about 10-12 very large men who don't want the ball to cross that plane. My ass has hit the ground plenty of times trying to get through that defensive line, and even a weak defense is still pretty rough.

All in all, I'd say it's difficult to compare the two, since they really aren't a whole lot alike.

I started thinking about this while watching "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade". Although it isn't necesarrily a blooper, I thought I'd wax religious anyway. I never thought about it till now, and it makes it glaringly obvious that IJATLC was written by Protestants. :

In the second trial before reaching the Grail, the clue is "The Word of God: Only in the footsteps of God will he proceed.". Indy says "The name of God........Jehovah". Being born and raised Catholic, I was confused the first time I saw this movie (which was when I was about 5 years old), because I had never heard the term "Jehovah" before. It wasn't until I took Theology II in my sophomore year of high school that I finally understood.

I'm not sure if it was in the Bible or just in ancient scripts, but God's name was written out as "YHWH", known as the tetragrammaton (there were no vowels in Ancient Hebrew). At that time, people refused to actually speak his name, which is where terms such as "Lord" came about, but that's beside the point. Now as far as I know, there are two translations of the tetragrammaton, depending on where the vowels are placed: "Yahweh", which was the one I was familiar with in the Catholic Church, and "Yehowah", which eventually became "Jehovah".

Now this is the part that might be considered a blooper. It was stated that the Grail was discovered by three knights of the First Crusade, which was launched by Pope Urban II in 1095. Since the Protestant Reformation did not occur until the 16th century, this means that there were no Protestants at the time of the First Crusade. Which means that "Yahweh" would have been the term in use, not "Jehovah"

Not trying to be really nitpicky about tiny errors in movies or anything, I was really more aiming to educate. Hope you found this interesting.

College and High School (AMERICAN!!!!!) Football

As the talk of college football increases in the NFL thread, I decided to create this thread to fix that at the suggestion of a few others.

I myself live in NCAA territory, and am a big Alabama Crimson Tide fan. Their main rivals are the Auburn Tigers and the Tennessee Vols, for those who wish to know. Our QB was out with an injury a good bit of last season, but hopefully this year will be better.

Yeah, I've heard a lot of Hollywood execs complaining that they can't figure out why box-office sales have been so low this year. They can't seem to get it through their heads that the reason is that most of the new movies that have come out this year have SUCKED, with the exception of a few.
