Did you double check the MD5 of the files with the MD5 file that was provided with the download to verify that they aren’t corrupt? If they verify it might be something else that’s wrong. Lack of disk space maybe? If you’re using 7zip to extract make sure you click the Extract button and not just drag the files onto an Explorer Window. If you don’t have enough free space on Drive C (regardless of whether that’s where you’re extracting it to or not) it will fail because the drag and drop method uses a temporary folder to write to on Drive C before copying it over.

Otherwise, I have no idea.

So, any thoughts on sounds that need fixing in ROTJ? Someone’s already mentioned Artoo’s beeps sounding very different from the other films.

Is this advocating the replacing of the ROTJ Artoo sounds? Because I always thought they were much better than the rest of the saga. I had forgotten how different they actually were until I went back and watched ROTJ again a while back. I think it sounds much better. Less cartoony? Little more real? Of course, Artoo’s sounds are classic and embedded in the fan psyche now so…I’m sure I’m in the minority.

This may be a dumnb question, but does anyone have a full list of content & tech specs for each of NJVC’s discs? I was able to download and burn without issue and now I’d like to make cover art. Obviously, I could just browse each disc manually and write down every feature by hand, but if someone has a full breakdown (or link to one), that would be incredibly helpful.

Here you go.

Yes, but you have to set a retry timer. I set mine for like 45 mins and it just keeps retrying until the timer is up. FreeRapid definitely doesn’t bypass the delays.

Anyway, the BD50 files are the main films. The Bonus Features discs are BD25 save for the ROTJ/Trilogy one which is also BD50. So altogether there are 6 discs. 4 are BD50 and 2 are BD25. The actual films in BD25 are not available anymore. Just BD50.

We were just discussing this above. Mega has a bandwidth limit. Once you reach it you have to wait up to 3.5 hrs to resume downloading. If you want to see exactly how much time you have left, right click on one of the downloads in your list that has “errored out” and select “open link in web browser” or something to that effect. There it will show a manual download button. Click on that and it’ll show a timer for how long you have to wait. It’s a pain. But that’s the cost of free downloads at Mega. It took me a week and a half to acquire all the files because of this.

Hey, odin777, did you find out anything new about how mega’s servers react if you set FreeRapid Downloader to automatically retry indefinitely once you’ve reached your data allotment? Could you tell if time got added with the several attempts that were too early or not?

I’ve been doing that myself over the past week. Just finished yesterday. I noticed specifically a couple of instances where it strangely added an extra half hour onto the time. But I only noticed that happening in those two instances. Could have been something else up there. But leaving it on 24/7 doing that worked just fine in the long run. Whatever time was added if any was not a big deal compared to how much I had to download.

Another thing I’d wish to edit is the strange random lightsaber ignition sounds on the Graflex. When Rey ignites it while she’s practising on her own and when Luke ignites it on Crait). Possibly when she ignites it while fighting with Luke at night in the rain as well (I don’t quite remember that sound there).

As far as the humour goes, it was slightly jarring to me at first as well. But then I remember that Star Wars has always had cheesy goofy humour like this. Always. Since 1977. It was just in that era’s form. This isn’t “Marvel Universe humour”, it’s just this generation’s humour. This is a Star Wars for THIS generation. And it even made me laugh, jarring though it may have been at first.

Does it bother anyone else that they kept calling him a “code breaker” and never once used the word “slicer?”

He was never referred to as a “slicer” but DJ did use the phrase “…slice into their shields, blip bloppity bloop…” when they arrived at the scene.

I’m overjoyed it was puppet Yoda again! He looked different though for SURE. But that’s fine. He looks older. I don’t care.

The only huge thing I want to see edited is Luke’s saber during his projection scene changed from the blue Graflex (Anakin’s) to the green thin neck hilt he made for ROTJ. It would make so much more sense. If he was trying to get into Kylo’s head in that scene by appearing as he did when he last saw him (different clothes, darker/shorter beard/hair) then it stands to reason he’d be using his thin neck as well. My guess is it was just fan service for the audience to see Luke with the Graflex one last time. Unfortunately, everywhere I go I see people who were disappointed by that. So I think they missed the mark there.

Actually, I figured out that Luke wasn’t real in that scene very early on because I was specifically watching to see what saber he had. When I saw the Graflex I was super confused…and then it clicked. I was disappointed in that moment.

No, they are ISO files. Image files of Bluray discs that you need to burn to a blank BD-R. Menus and everything.

There is an MD5 file included in the downloads. You need a program like MD5Summer to open that file with. It basically verifies that everything downloaded correctly and didn’t get corrupted somehow during download.

I just started the process…when it is going through the multi file downloader is it normal to have an error message next to some files if the cap has been reached? Can I just let it run and it will do it automatically? Thanks so much! Also how much space is needed for just the movies and not the docs? Thanks

Yes. Normal. You can check exactly how long the quota time limit lasts by right clicking on that file and selecting “Open in browser”. It’ll open the download link and tell you how long. You don’t have to check it though. I set it to auto retry after 2200 seconds (about 36 mins and to keep retrying infinitely. The longest limit I’ve had was about 3-3.5 hrs.

The movies are 50GB each. So 150GB for all three movies. Then you need space to unRAR them (but I’d recommend verifying the MD5 hashes of the RARs before deleting them just in case).

I’ve just tried it this morning on my home rig with Leawo player and it does indeed play just fine (minus the ability to skip chapters or seek, which just makes the image go black). The garbled corruption on my laptop must have been due to lower specs. But there is indeed nothing wrong with the ISO. Good to know. Thanks, guys.

I can play the 25GB MKV file just fine in VLC. It’s the M2TS file that won’t play for whatever reason. Menus and everything work. All other titles/m2ts streams. Just that one will not work. The menus didn’t work at first, but I discovered that function was just turned off in VLC and after enabling it it worked fine.

My laptop does not have a GPU. Not a good one, anyway. Just an onboard Intel HD 3D accelerator (aka crap). I will give it another try on my main rig at home as a mounted ISO and see if I have better luck.

Ah so it’s VLC that’s the problem. Thank you I’ll check them out! 😃

EDIT: Hmm it plays but it’s all garbled and has trouble. Will not seek without freezing either. But it’s guaranteed to work in a player, right (assuming it’s burned correctly)? Like, there’s nothing wrong with the ISO itself (having been MD5 verified before unrarring).

Ok, I’ve downloaded Star Wars 2.7 BD50 so far. I’ve checked the hashes and it’s all verified. I can’t burn the disc yet as I don’t yet have a burner, but I mounted it and opened it in VLC. Everything works except for the main feature which won’t play at all. Could it be a limitation of my laptop (which isn’t the greatest)? I haven’t yet tried it on my main rig yet as I’m still downloading the rest of the ISOs but I do it from work because I have a crazy data cap where I live. I’m going to try it out tonight, but wondering if this is a common issue? My laptop is a 64-bit Lenovo t420i Thinkpad with Windows 10 with 4GB RAM. Intel i3-2350M CPU at 2.3GHz. I’ve mounted the ISO from a 5TB external hard drive (but connected to USB2.0 not USB3.0 as my laptop doesn’t have USB3.0 ports).
