Weird day so only had time to watch Ken Russell's interpretation of Holst's OP.32 The Planets Suite.

He does this using mostly found material from adverts and documentaries etc but with a few especially filmed sequences.

My favourite movement is Saturn: The Bringer Of Old Age.

It opens with a city graveyard with the tomb stones mirrored with skyscrapers.

He then represents entropy with motor cars both in traffic jams and wreckers yards and then with a production line and the toxic effects of the production line on the natural environment.

The message being that all things new must return to dust (or in this case rust).

Top marks for doing Mars : The Bringer Of War without actually showing much in the way of actual war footage (at the request of Holst's daughter)

7 Worlds.

Bingowings was this on t.v. ?.

MrBrown, how about this German set saying they are uncut, are they now uncut or is this just uncut to the German releases?.

MrBrown do you know anything about this Blu Ray release of the Rambo Trilogy?.

http://www.amazon.de/Rambo-Trilogy-Ultimate-Uncut-Blu-ray/dp/B004X4SDC6/ref=lh_ni_t

It says the movies are uncut and they all seem longer than the U.K. releases ,First Blood in the U.K. is 89 minutes this version says its 96 minutes, but i think the U.S. release is also 96 minutes, can anyone in the U.S. confirm this?.

This set also seems to have a lot more extras, the U.K. releases only have an interview with Stallone on each disc.

1997 SE - Five Star Collection - any interest in a Preservation? (Released)

I have the release of them that came out back in the early/mid 2000's, like 03 or 04.

They are pretty nice, but the color timing is kind of off a bit. Flesh tones are kinda "orangish" at times, and the color saturation is slightly pale.

Brightness is a little too high as well.

A few tweaks on the color, hue and brightness on the TV, and they're great!

The only other issue is that they're not anamorphic.

Does anyone know of any anamorphic versions of the 97 SE's out there?

I recommend checking out Lee Thorogoods 97 S.E. Laserdisc set, looks excellent and its converted to anamorphic.

Bottom series one, probably the best comedy the BBC ever made.

A friend of mine from India really loves it.

I wouldn't call it best by any means but it's funny if you like that sort of extreme broad physical comedy.

It's an extension of what Ade and Rik had been doing and continued to do for most of their career.

The Dangerous Brothers is basically the same routine as is the Comic Strip Presents Mr Jolly Lives Next Door neither of which began on the Beeb.

The Dangerous Brothers is one of my favourite Rik/Ade shows ever, its just a pity it lasted for such a short time.Mr Jolly Lives Next Door is the best thing The Comic Strip ever done, Bad News being second ofcourse.
