Sergio Leone Preservations - Dollars Trilogy, Fistful of Dynamite, Once Upon a Time in the West (Released)
Time

I would like to thank LeoneNut for these great preservations, it was really nice to see one of my favourite trilogies fully in their complete uncut forms, especially as I had not seen a lot of this footage before and it was great to see it intergrated into these Classic Films, this is the way I will be watching these films from now on and I recommend anyone who does love these films should definatly try and get of hold of them...

The Merits of the Prequel Trilogy and the "Saga"

Thats how I feel, I enjoy them because they are SW if they werent I would have watched them once or twice like I do with most Sci fi/fantasy films I own, then maybe never watched them again, but because they have links to the Original Trilogy and have characters I love from the Original Trilogy in them and like the stories. I watch them more than I would other Sci/fantasy films, I have though never tried to love it 1-6 though as I have never wanted to give it that much commitment, all I have ever wanted from these films is to be entertained and not to get to indepth about it all...

AHH!! LOSING MY MIND!! I MUST KNOW!!

In a related subject, I meant, what happened to him and the vanishing thread?

I think he is trouble with the mods I may be wrong, he has had his threads locked because I may be wrong again they think he is trolling the boards with this exclusive news of his, I assume it was one of his socks that started that thread so it was probably locked and the sock banned that why it vanished...

I am not a massive Superman fan but I cant wait for this set to arrive to see The Donner Cut and The Theatrical Cut of Superman The Movie which I havent seen for ages, also the extras look pretty good and even though they arent as good as the others it will be nice to have 3 and 4 on DVD as I only own Superman the Movie EE and the normal Superman 2, my one dissapointment is there isnt an extended cut of 4 on there which Ive heard is supposed to plug some plot holes evident in the original cut ..

The Merits of the Prequel Trilogy and the "Saga"
Time

I know they arent too popular here and Ive had my pops at TPM especially in the past, but I enjoy them, but not as much as I do enjoy the original films, I am not claiming they are cinematic masterpieces but I have seen quite a few films which I think are a lot worse, and once I looked past what I thought were the deficencies in the films I enjoyed even more that I did before. As for the saga as a whole it doesnt particulary interest me and I dont think I will ever be bothered to watch it as a 1-6 story, so I couldnt care less about how cohesive it is or whether or not it does all fit together.

LEC games: X-Wing, TIE Fighter...
Time

My best friend at one time had all these type of games on his PC - Rebel Assault Tie Fighter, our favourite was X-Wing that game was well hard if I remember but it was fun we try and get some long periods playing it , one things that appealed to us at the time with these games were the cut screens, there was nothing better than completing a level and one of those cut screens came up, that was all the incentive we needed to keep playing hour after hour was to see another one of them...

POLL: So Who Bought Them & Who Didn't? (the 2006 GOUT DVD release)
Time

No I didnt buy them because Im skint at the moment. Dont know if I will bother unless someone gets them for me, Im not sure what to make of them in all honestly, some people say they are good, some say they are crap so I dont know if its worth the investment, I already own the 2004 Editions(silver box) anyway and a nice selection of fan transfers (Editdroid Dr M Citizen Moth3r and OCP's Classic Editions) which I like so I may stick with them....

"BUT ANAMORPHIC ENHANCEMENT ALTERS THE MOVIES!!!"
Time

Cmon we arent silly Raul, we all know how Uncle George feels about it, he wont release it like that epsecially if he releasing a new version of SE he wouldnt want an anomorphic OOT boxset maybe overshadow the release of his possible definitive versions of the saga, I am willing stake big money this isnt gonna happen and it will be the 6 films plus a truckload of extras....

Waiting for Episode VII during the lean years (1984-1998)
Time
I saw Star Wars in 1977 and a was a big fan through Empire 80, Return 83, towards the end of 84-85 when there wasnt alot happening in the S.W universe and my friends lost interest, my fandom kinda waned as me and my friends started going out, getting girlfriends etc, and getting in Horror and other films etc etc, but I still bought the VHS, went to the cinema for a showing and watched it on TV etc, though I wasnt as obessed as I was in the late 70s- early 80s, though an extra Episode was one thing that would have been welcome but it never came and I thought at the time it would only be the films from 77-83 we would ever see, I was in my early 20s when the SE came, I was really excited as to me it was the return of Star Wars, I took a day off work with a mate and we went to see it and enjoyed it, we didnt worry about changes it was just good to see Star Wars back at the Cinema, while this going on I started hearing all the hype about the new Star Wars films I was a bit excited after 16 years it had finally happened a new Star Wars film, so I saw a bit here and there and thought that looks good, but a couple of weeks before it opened here I got a pirate VHS off a mate and we sat down and watched it, we were abit dissapointed with it, so we decided we werent gonna go to the Cinema to see it, so we didnt go, After that I kinda lost interest for Episode 2 as I was getting older and thought I was past SW, but I went eventually a few weeks after it had opened and actually enjoyed it, then when ROTS opened I went first day and really liked it so I actually went a few times with various people...

The Trekkies Are Unbelievable
Time

Im not a massive fan of Trek, but I really enjoy The Original Series and part of the charm for me is the old effects and the sets as well as the stories being interesting, so I am not interested in seeing them updating the effects and the sets, I have only the first season of this on DVD, so I will have to now get the other seasons, so I can watch vintage Trek and not these new versions which I dont have an interest in...

Ideas for the inevitable Super-Mega-Special-Ultimate 2007 Boxset
Time
That sounds like a good idea for a set, unless it has the originals on it, Im not really interested in anything more George has to offer, I already have the SE and the Prequels to my satisfaction, maybe TPM with a digital Yoda might interest me, but I dont really want to spend anymore on the franchise, If I can get hold of X0 version that will probably satisfy me as my definitive OOT, so if I get them by the 30th Anniversary or whenever, I will then probably be done with SW for good....

The Official Release VS. EditDroid
Time

The Editdroid is one of best fan transfers Ive seen, and one thing I like it has the option of selectable crawls for ANH and selectable sound mixes if I am not mistaken as well as extras like a trailer etc, I havent seen the official release yet so I cant compare it, but the Editdroid for a non-anomorphic transfer of the original trilogy takes a lot of beating.....

9/11 5 years later
Time

I was at home recovering from a foot operation a few days before so I was off work, I remember the day like yesterday, It was around 2.00 here in the afternoon here in the U.K and I was flicking through the channels because I was more or less bed-ridden recovering at the time, and I caught Sky News more or less straight after the first plane went into the WTC, they thought the first one was just an accident, so I thought to myself this looks interesting not realising the full implications of what was happening, so I carried on watching the Sky News coverage and then the second plane went in and then guessed this was some sort of an attack, so then I just carried on watching the continous news coverage til about 3 in the morning.
