Hey quick question, you used DVD studio Pro for all three films? isn't that for macintosh?

What is DVD studio Pro's PC equivalent?

This question is like a meatball over home plate....

....must....resist....knee....jerk....answer....

THERE IS NO EQUIVALENT. Man, just I couldn't stop myself there. Too easy

As far as the dual boot option goes, you'd be running DVDSP on totally unsupported hardware and under emulation (Rosetta environment) because none of Apple's pro apps have been released for Intel Macs yet (end of March). Just get the real thing. It's OK, the water's just fine....

this set was only 6 files.

thanks.

You need to get all of the .rar files (part001.rar through part084.rar). The entire post will be roughly 4.75 GB (rar's, par's, nfo, sfv, artwork)

My players don't play other regions or PAL. And my laptop doesn't play them either. I really want to see BUILDING EMPIRE!!!

As is stated earlier in this thread, it will be region free. This means that it will play in EVERY region. And if your dvd player doesn't play PAL, go to Wal Mart and buy a $35 Apex player. It will play PAL and NTSC discs just fine.

I'm sure ocpmovie would love to send you a copy. You should help out THE man and get it directly from the source. The money you'd spend on PIF'ing several copies would be more than just getting it directly from him. All good? His email is in this thread many times.

I'm assuming Jambe made this region free. As for wanting an NTSC version, your dvd player and computer should play the PAL disc just fine.

Mac OS X:

MacTheRipper (dvd rip/demux/etc)
Final Cut Pro HD (av editing/capturing)
Compressor (encoder)
A. Pack (AC3 encoder)
DVD Studio Pro (dvd authoring)
Photoshop (menus/covers/labels)
Toast Titanium (burning VIDEO_TS folders)

As far as copying preservation dvd's goes, I have 2 dvd-drives and use Toast to do a direct disc to disc copy. Works great.

Burning video dvds on Macs
Time
iMovie doesn't burn anything. It is strictly a video editor. iDVD only burns projects you create from assets you provide and it authors and burns. It's basically to make home movie dvd's. You don't want to use either of these.

Try these options:

1) Repeat your method of dragging the "VIDEO_TS" folder to the blank dvd. This time, add an empty folder named "AUDIO_TS" in the blank dvd. This should probably work. It's OK to burn it as a "data disc". It will be a UDF (Universal Disk Format) disc, the same as movie dvd's. It should now be recognised as a movie dvd by all your equipment.

2) Buy Roxio ToastTitanium 7. It will allow you to make a movie dvd from your VIDEO_TS folder.

3) Use OS X's built-in DiskUtility (in Applications/Utilities) to create a dvd-r disk image and add the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders and burning that image to dvd.

In DiskUtility, click the "New Image" icon in the toolbar. Select Size: 4.7GB (dvd-r/dvd-ram), Encryption: none, Format: read/write disk image. Save image named something like "ANHCLASSIC". This disk image will now show up in the Finder as a volume that you can drag files in to. In the Finder, simply drag your VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders in there. Once they're copied, go back to DiskUtility. In the left hand pane, highlight the name of the disk image "ANHCLASSIC.dmg" and click the "Burn" icon in the toolbar.

All of these methods should work for you. iMovie and iDVD are not the right tools to accomplish what you want. Good luck!

I have about four 300GB externals all chained together if I need to get some more storage space. (I'm running FCP 4.5 HD on my mini without any problems)

Cool. Glad to hear that. I'm now just waiting for the Intel compatible version of FCP in March to go along with the new Intel iMac Core Duo. Sweet machine, indeed.
