If you burn the AVCHD onto a DVD+R DL it should play on a PS3. Try Imgburn and follow the guide here: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/burn_avchd_with_imgburn.cfm

Random memory: I remember reading in The Beano about celebrities who were members of the Dennis the Menace Fan Club, and it went on to mention Jimmy Krankie and Mark Hamill. While Jimmy Krankie would wear the fan club badge when he/she appeared on Crackerjack and the like, Mark Hamill did not wear the badge in the Star Wars films. The reason given was that he was worried about the pin puncturing his space suit.
I remember being annoyed at this because there is no point in Star Wars where Luke Skywalker wears a space suit.
I’ve been helping a young amateur filmmaker with his latest short film. He needs assistance with one particular shot so I’m posting this request for help on his behalf.
During editing, he noticed that in one corridor shot there is a light and a crew member visible in a mirror on the far wall. There are also some signs on the wall that give away the fact that the location is a social club (it is meant to be a school).
It’s a 10 second shot from a static camera. Anyone willing to take a shot at some digital removal of these items for him?

Crawl has Episode VII in it. The name of the movie just is Star Wars: The Force Awakens, just like TESB had Episode V in the crawl but the name of the movie was just The Empire Strikes Back.
I’m 99% sure that the film was released in the UK as “Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back” - going on the BBFC certificate card I think I saw.
Copy protection? I’d put some scotch on the bottom-left hole like in here:
btw, what are you going to use for the conversion? I’d like to convert VHSs myself, but so far I could only afford an analogue-to-digital converter (which sometimes makes the audio randomly disappear 😄 )
Taping over the write-protect tab does not disable the Macrovision signal that is recorded on the tape!
Use a method that is not affected by copy protection, e.g. certain PC capture cards ignore it, or alternatively get a Macrovision remover (i.e. video stabiliser) device and insert in your capture chain.
How are you reporting off-topic posts?
According to social media, Leslie Nielsen has just died again.

Going to see a 30th anniversary screening of Labyrinth next week.
Rocky V.
But maybe it was only because it came after Rocky IV, which was ruined for me by that stupid robot.
40 years on, Geoffrey and Bungle are still good friends.

I met Kenny Baker at a convention; he’s a funny guy (he was talking about being shot in the canyon by Jack Purvis).
