OHMSS - the ABC Cut (remastered) (Released)

I can't see any recently deleted threads, and I don't believe that Jay or Zion would delete something without giving you a reason.

What's the difference between the TV version and the DVD? Is the only change the addition of the Part 2 promo and Part 1 recap, or are there other scenes which have been edited?

EDIT - Just noticed this thread was from 2005 - it looks like suntech bumped it by accident, and I thought it was recent. D'oh!

The Thief and the Cobbler Super DVD (Released)
Time
Thanks for making the effort to contribute. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Calvert and Miramax versions have had official retail releases. Therefore, this is a Custom DVD and you should not discuss the distribution of this disc.

(I'm assuming you didn't author this disc using seamless branching, and all 5 versions are separate and just heavily compressed.)

2006 DVD OOT

Maybe not as mainstream as Star Wars, but I've found an even worse release:
Condorman R2
Non-anamorphic letterboxed widescreen, grainy transfer - same as the GOUT DVDs. However, this release has static menus (GOUT DVDs are animated) and is on a DVD5 - in fact, the entire DVD is sized at just 3.82GB. Really disappointing.

Wheels On Meals - what was cut in Hong Kong version?
Time
Details of the Region 0 DVD released in HK:
http://www.asiandvdguide.com/reviews/wheels4.html

I have the R2 Hong Kong Legends DVD from the UK, which apparently is the international cut and has two extra scenes included (but does not include the original English dub). According to this, one addition may have been the van washing scene. What was the other one?

Looking for good inexpensive turntable
Time
Most of the time you can't record from a turntable directly onto the PC, because the output needs to be amplified/equalised from "phono" to the "line-level" input to your sound card. Older hi-fi amps, and DJ mixers, will have a phono input and can output a linear signal.

And I believe newer turntables include built-in amplifiers to produce line-level outputs.

NTSC to PAL
Time
What's the framerate of the original material - NTSC-film (23.976fps) or NTSC (29.97fps)?

The former is easily converted to PAL - resize to 720x576, encode at 25fps and speed up the audio by 25/23.976 = 1.0427. AviSynth is ideal for this kind of processing, but if you're not inclined to make friends with it at this stage then VirtualDubMod or VirtualDub-MPEG2 should be able to do the same thing.

Converting interlaced 29.97fps NTSC into 25fps PAL is a more complex subject - there are several different approaches, quality varies.

Ideas: for a 'HALLOWEEN - RESURRECTED' edit...
Time
The Technical Discussions forum is for requesting help with technical issues, so I've moved your post into this forum instead. For future reference, these types of request are usually posted in the Fan Edit Request Thread. You could also post your ideas at fanedits.com as a concept and maybe someone will take it up as a project.
I also hope these kind of requests are okay, since we're at a Star Wars site. I don't want to step on anyone's toes, being a newbie and all.
We're no longer just a Star Wars site. I think you'll find quite a few Halloween fans here.
