The files were removed by the team that made it for a reason.

We are respecting their wishes by not re-upping.

Are there alternative methods of downloading the films?

To quote the man himself DJ...

"Nope"

So if that is how it is going to be, while don't the moderators delete all TeamBlu threads if all TeamBlu is going to do is tease us with custom mods no one will ever be able to see but the team itself?

What is the point of any of this if no one is ever going to be able to see these edits?  Is TehParadox off limits?  Mega?  No other private trackers whatsoever?  Because if that is the case, then what is the point?

Hey guys, since there are people who can't get a hold of copies of this, (and other things we did) would those able to rip or copy them please try and help or at least direct these guys in the right direction. (over pm, naturally)

I have no way of sharing them myself (I have no BD-reader) and as you may know they were all removed from myspleen.

Is there another place (like TehParadox) the snatchers on MS can post the films?

I agree.. that works quite well.  I think if there were any more changes I would still have Ben turn his sabre on after Vader does, and I would delete the dramatic music when Ben starts to lift his sabre for his sacrifice.  I always remembered and loved that silence right before Vader makes his swing.. it would also give the sad tune more time to play (as opposed to being shoe horned between the dramatic que and the "Luke responds" que).

OK so does anyone here have any good stuff or ideas for Maximum Overdrive extras? if so please fire away, right now we have the trailer and that is about it, I have a great idea for the music but we will see if it pans out.

Thanks

We could always start a Kickstarter to fund a donation to a professional thief who can break into Stephen King's vault and procure his uncut print of MO.

But I guess short of that.. are there any pics (from Fangoria and the like) of the cut gore out there (the way there is of the cut gore from ANGEL HEART)?

PS: here are a few links (right click on images to see in full size):

Don't know how it looks, but amazon is offering it in HD for $3.99.  Pulp Video in Italy has also released it on blu-ray (on amazon.it for E11.10).

I have it.. it's not bad.  It's a bit too bright (could be darkened and maybe have a bit of a color boost), but at least it is in true HD.  CAT'S EYE looks much better.

LINK REMOVED. Read the rules please!

This site always seems to come alive at night

Define "night."  Not everyone lives in the same time zone.

Of COURSE we do!  Haven't you ever seen GREMLINS or any movie dealing with religious apocalyptic prophecies that end (or is it begin?) at midnight?

As far as the "slow" sword fighting goes, keep in mind that these fights aren't based on Errol Flynn movies but samurai flicks.  Hell, SW and ESB designed their lightsabre duels more akin to what you see in THE DUELISTS than THE CRIMSON PIRATE.  These guys are professionals, so they're going to conserve their energy and plan their attacks.

I always felt you could edit out the scene with the probot coming out of the crater until after Luke is whacked and carried away.

I guess you could edit the sequences as such:

1 - probe drops into the outer atmosphere2 - you see bird's eye view of Luke on Taun Taun.
3 - Luke looks through binocs; we see shot of probot hitting the hill
4 - scene carried through as normal
5 - after Luke is dragged away, you go to the crater shot, with the probot lifting up and moving to the left (followed by right-to-left wipe).

That way you don't have 2 shots of the same probe pod hitting the hill.

Or you can just keep it the way it is.

When did this become Facebook?  I have a suggestion: there is no need to post anything here until Ady does.  We can wait however long it takes, whereupon when he is ready to post the finished edit, we can discuss it then.

Until then, can we PLEASE stop flooding this thread just for the sake of posting something?  It's like how over on Blu-ray.com on the SCREAM! Factory thread half the posts are people writing "my shipment went out today!"

I was wondering if there was the possibility of having the falcon move closer to us when the TIEs explode.  In the new clip, it looks like the Falcon is almost a "cut and paste" image simply sliding to the left, with the new TIE explosion being smaller than the original.  In the original shot, the Falcon appears to be moving right beside our face or over our shoulder, whereas the new shot the Falcon is a good distance away (and looks strange).
I will post some screen caps to illustrate a bit later...

Yeah, I have to agree that the faster impact works better, as it's closer to the original but how it also goes with the end note of the music of the action scene.  The slower impact scene feels... odd.

Maybe there could be a middle ground between the shots?  Regardless, the shot is seemless... short of the new angles, I would have never known this was something you built at home (as it looks like something a professional studio would have done).

Halloween [spoRv] *BD-25 RELEASED*

Has anyone considered creating a blu-ray that has all of the extras from all of the HALLOWEEN dvds and blus?
Also SpoRv: have you considered creating a TERMINATOR blu?  KingKong650 has already created a 16gb regraded version, and I thought it would be nice if someone used the old 2008 TERMINATOR blu menu while using one of the regrades for the film (while putting all of the dvd extras and any articles).

I think if there was any minor issue I would have, it would be the perspective of the buildings behind the Slave 1 (both when Han is being loaded, and when Slave 1 is escaping).

It seems that the perspective is off, in that the buildings should appear as either level to our eyes along the same level as the Slave 1 platform, or they should be slightly angled downwards, as they would be slightly above us.

Here are the 3 areas in red:

Here are the perspective lines (hash tag is the image; solid line is roughly what the perspective should be):

Granted, the solid lines (especially on the right) are a little too angled, but the buildings on the right should be at least level with our eyes, if not with a slight tilt downwards (or as if we are seeing them from slightly below the roof line).

You have a similar situation in the scene where Leia is firing at the Slave 1: the building tops are angled not so we are slightly looking from below them (as they would still be higher than us, even at a distance), but as if they are tilted towards us, allowing us to see them as if from a bird's eye POV.

I know it's pretty crude, but something like this:

Also, would it be an interesting idea if the Slave 1 had similar running lights as the Falcon (ie little things to give the model a bit more life)?  I know lights on the gantry where Han is being loaded may wind up being too much, but just an idea nonetheless.

You guys can share what you want, we don't care, go for it, all we ask is to get credit for what we did, believe it or not there are some that still do not do this.

Thanks for replying DJ, and that goes without saying (at least for me).

RIG over on TehParadox has made quite a few MGM-HD rips for me, which I've posted over on CG without retagging and with a specific mention and credit to him for the rip.  Same thing with KK650's TERMINATOR post over on MS.  Doesn't make me a saint, but it means I'm not a dick when it comes to taking credit for someone else's work.

I'm just wondering if it's still possible to get a hold of any TeamBlu releases (specifically the CONAN ones)...

Why haven't they offered to create private torrents for other MS members so they can either get these or complete what they already have?

Nobody wants to piss off DJ, myself included.

Also, it would be a pain-in-the-ass to send out PMs to everyone who pops in here and asks how/where to download.

I dunno... or someone could post "Hey guys.  I got [insert movie title].  If you want me to private torrent it to you, PM me and I'll create a list."

Besides, how would it piss off DJ (DJ: feel free to jump in if you want) and TeamBlu if we share what has been shared for free, as opposed to selling it on Ebay or trying to take credit for it (which I can understand if DJ and co. get pissed about)?

We are ALL pirates here.. but we're also innovators and artists, and we use sites like this to share our work while maintaining an honor code (such as not selling material that we do not really own), which in turn seems to keep the Feds off our collective backs.

Well I know what happened now.......still not sure I understand. MySpleen is just as "safe" as any other private tracker. Ooookay then!

I don't think it was taken down due to safety/legal concerns.

The thing that has me scratching my head is that there are people on MySpleen that have a lot of these completely downloaded.  Why haven't they offered to create private torrents for other MS members so they can either get these or complete what they already have?

I know it's possible to create a private torrent between 2 clients... LosAngeles did it for me over on CG when he got a hold of RACE FOR YOUR LIFE, CHARLIE BROWN in 1080p.

I do hope Ady will be as OCD when it comes to making the Executor bridge in ROTJ look as good as the one in ESB (what is it with 80's sequels and buggering up hand-me-down sets?).

Well, that's the real trick, isn't it. ;) But that bridge is going to be almost impossible to get it to match the better ESB one, thanks mainly to this guy stuck down the bottom, here....

This will be extremely tough, but it might be a matter of cutting out some of the actors (such as the one walking on the plank) and using the bridge shots in EMPIRE (while creating new mattes for outside the bridge windows).  I know that is definitely easier said than done, but it might be an easier option than trying to ply away things in the original shot(s).

In fact, I think it would be interesting to go back and watch JEDI with full frame TVs in mind.  To judge the above shot on set design, it doesn't make any sense - not only is the scanner guy sitting on the edge of the gangplank, but the wall to the bridge entrance is located 5 to 10 feet from where it should be.    BUT, if you see this as framed for a 4:3 TV set, it makes perfect sense.  I wonder if there other scenes that are designed for (the then current) 4:3 TV frame if you were to crop the 2.35:1 image down.

This is how I feel after this debate over window frames:

MST3K "Mitchell": Servo Loses It

Guys?!  Can't we PLEASE just wait until Ady announces he is done?  There is no need for this back-and-forth over what is absolutely nothing.

KingKong650:  I love you man... I really do (in a platonic way).  You have a ton of talent, and I love your color corrected releases over on TehParadox.  If you don't like the window framing, then when Ady releases his edit, use it as a template to make a version that crops the window frame.  Better to have MORE information you can ply away than have a cropped image you are stuck with.

Adywan: I love you too.. but you CAN have an ego.. such as going back and forth over a window frame when all you ever had to do was just say "this is what I'm doing, because I like the way it looks.  End of debate."  There is no need to give yourself an ulcer over a window frame.

Now to keep this pertinent to the thread, I personally like the opened shot.  Not to mention, it is always better to have access to more visual information, as there is nothing stopping anyone from creating a tweaked edit with a more cropped cockpit shot.
