OMG!! This is great....
I can't wait to watch this on my 50 inch someday.
OMG!! This is great....
I can't wait to watch this on my 50 inch someday.
I am US based and don't have my old region free VHS deck anymore. But from what I can remember ( and I do have the 1995 THX Box set in widescreen) that it was of higher quality, If anyone is interested in doing a transfer let me know. It should be preserved as is.
That is amazing and that is a pressed disc not a rare recordable. Silverwook is right
I was going through some boxes in the garage and I found my ISD Superclass set along with the Star Wars Trilogy Widescreen (LONG) Box set.
Has anyone ever did a transfer of this set? The ISD is a beautiful VHS set.
I remember when I bought it back in late 1999 or early 2000. I paid something like 150 US dollars. And now it sits and collects dust, has a great booklet.
Does anyone know where I can get this and the "Star Wars The Bootleg" DVD
any help would be great.
Thanks, I am just looking for pre- ANH stuff. If you can help it would be appreciated.
anyone got a myspleen invite? been years. But I want this Shea copy.
Interesting project. I just got a copy for the Japanese version and was hoping for something better.
I am still looking for a Bravo or E Network cut broadcast years ago that had a hybrid cut of the film, it used the theatrical and inserted extended footage for the fist half of the film. I had a copy but lost tape it actually existed.

if it's japanese laserdisc, then the video is ntsc and not pal. so anyone with a good player and the right capture tools can do it.
wasn't there talk about a blu-ray release with this version? i might be mistaken. if i was, then a proper preservation of a your ld would be sweet - clean sd video with lossless audio :)
Albert Pyun the director has released a hybrid type cut already to bluray but this one differs....
Thanks for the info on the NTSC.
and yes he does need a hybrid but I am not into fan edits...

I own this LD. However, I can not transfer it.
I anyone is up to the task to transfer it.
Not sure if you have to have a PAL LD player? anyone know anything about these Japan LD’s?
This version of Albert Pyuns’ milestone in the cyborg action genre is a lot less known than the original cinema release although it offers some new or extended scenes. The ending is also much shorter but there is an alternative ending scene which is darker and more open than the original. </span>
Nice project
that is great news
I own the theatrical as well
only the so called Directors Cut has been released in the states
Yes, excited to see screenshots
Nope, not dead. Was in a flux but it's back on course. I would know, lol
The Five Star Series of the 97' is my favorite. It always takes me back to seeing the re-release on the big screen (in 1997).
I am so happy I have the original pressed copies of the three films
Update: This edit is still moving forward
I am seriously considering taking my original TV cut airing, the DVD release, the Commentary from the OOP German LD and few other versions and create one sweet ass DVD
- THE recent DVD release was poor Video in 1:33.1 an was bare bones.
I heard Nic Meyer on Coast to CoastAM radio recently and he said he was sad that there was not a better presentation.
Specs would be -
WIDESCREEN - proper ratio of 1:75:1
Commentary track by director Nicholas Meyer.
The original broadcast intro and discussion panels.
The original radio address by the President of the US whch was given by a voice that was a mimic of Ronald Reagan.
In subsequent broadcasts, vhs, DVD, etc., the voice was changed to a more generic, non-identifiable voice.
Alternate Opening
Restored Audio in English
Wow! where have I been, lol Incredible....

Any news or new developments on this project?
Can't wait to see it.
It is coming along very well. I'll post an update soon.
Thanks
Sorry we have not updated for a while now. Some people asked me to update if there was new news.
Sorry! No real new news for this project BUT!!!
Well the Highlander II projects are complete and three of them have been released.
There is talk between Phineas and Myself on a revisiting project of it, 2.0 Anyone?
We never fully released the American Cut of the film even though it was cpmpleted. In order to make all the edits that PhineasBg created for the other three in edits in the box set the American cut had to be created from acratch in WS. Revisted 2.0 would most likely include ALL new Motion menus for all the films and a few other things. We would ofcourse release the American cut to complete the box set.
Reality Check - Lets be real though, we are years away from returning to the world of Highlander II. Highlander right now is kind of at a stall anyhow. As of now we are working on Superman RIC and then we have a bunch of other projects.
Rest assured we do want to revisit them and finish the complete box set.

Rolmao!!!
You can bet it will not take that long ;-)
Is the XO project still going on?
Announcement:
Superman The Movie - The KCOP cut has joined forces with Supermanii.com and CapedWonder 's RIC (Restored International Cut) in a bid to put together the best possible Superman The Movie - the Salkind international cut presentation imaginable.
The RIC editor, Phineasbg and Nighthawks have unloaded several burdens off each other, this will make things (hopefully) go faster and bring a smoother and tighter finished product.
A full restoration of the deleted scenes is being attempted. Dust, specks and scratch removal for all the extra scenes are being done to create the best possible looking picture.
For more information head on over to Supermanii.com or CapedWonder for continuing updates.
