Hey Rik

Mitch here, thansk again for all your help with my project and the questions you answered via email.

BTW!! are you going to include the Network Television Prologue in the Extras section of the set.

I mean the the DVD I sent ya and you reencoded! Seems since this is a Defenitive set it would be best to include and havea little snippet of what it was and why it was.

Thanks

The word about your restoration is getting out. I have atleast all of my Rare and Uncut Movie Collector contacts as well as my European movie and film collector contacts aware of it. I have shot them all emails and I hope atleast one of them has some material or information or anything.

Just an idea.. I hope it can help.

A documentary actuaklly sounds awesome

Sort of like INSIDE THE MAGIC OF THE THIEF: A FILM TWENTY FIVE YEARS IN THE MAKING

What are your ideas behind it?

Would it discuss the whole project from the beginning to the restoration?

What re your ideas... Spill the beans?

And please put in some of the conversation with Roy and Alex and others if you have the chance..

The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut

I checked my mail box on Friday and suddenly I noticed a disc from OCPmovie in my box and I quickly openend it.

It was the Thief, i was like cool!!!!!!! sweet!!!!

I got home and my future wife wanted to play scrabble so I told her ok! But also that we watch the Thief, she was like what?

You want to wach a cartoon? I said it wasn't like any cartoon, you'll see.

So we started scrabble and turned on the Thief and suddenly she was paying more attention to the Thief. She told me that she thought the Thief was the funniest character and boy does he have some bad luck. Later, we eventually stoped playing scrabble and finished the Thief we both laughed at the damn Thief the whole time. We had a great time and she applauded the work of OCP.

Mt little two cents.

After I watched the workprint last week and then watched the Recobbled Cut I was amazed at the work you put into this.

I was in the total oh! My fuckin G!!! Mode

The stuff of the Thief that you worked hard on was the best, he is so fricken funny....

Thanks again Garret for another fine ass release and I hope you like the X-Men DVD I snet ya!!

peace

This disc could pissibly be added as a supplement to your collection as I have already released this disc. I stated above that I love your collection so far and I wouldn't mind if it could be added as a supplement disc to your series. My offical release date is Ie: release date 3/7/2006 restored

If you want to copy the transfers from the disc and add them to your project that would be fine also, just give me credit for the idea in the credits section for the work and the idea.. peac4e

I actually anm sending copies to Revernbeastly, Fanfiltration, OCPmovie and Rikter for there help and patience with me on other projects.

Also Byakko, I noticed on your original -Season One release you had station FOX Station ID"S on your EPISODE copies..YOU COPIED THEM DIRECTLY FROM TV - for and upgrade I could send you transfers of

Night of the Sentinels and Enter Magneto and Deadly Reunions

All four of these Episodes are clean transfers and have no station ID's and no commercial cuts..Something to think about... oh ya!! and IN STEREO......

and if no one cares I'll have it for myslef..lol

I am also working on my dubs of the alternate versions of the X-Men Animated series..

There were many production delays leading up to the premiere of X-Men in the fall of 1992. The show was originally going to premiere over the Labor Day weekend at the beginning of September, but it was soon pushed to the end of October. The "Night of the Sentinels" two-parter was rushed to the air and billed as a "sneak preview" even though it truly wasn't ready for broadcast. Consequently, there were many animation errors in these two episodes. However, they were corrected when FOX re-aired the pilot in early 1993. The original version has never been rebroadcast, so the following deleted scenes, changes, and additions cannot be found on any VHS release or ABC Family Channel rerun.

FAN PRESERVATION

THE UNCANNY X-MEN 20th Anniversary Edition

Because of my love for the original Uncanny X-Men comics I have transfered my original 1987 X-Men / Pryde of the X-Men Video to DVD.
This was a proposed failed pilot series narrated by Stan Lee. After re-working it a few years later X-Men the Animated Series was lauched.

What I love about this version is it is closer to the comics books in the character styles and for me closer to what I always thought they sounded like in my head. I have transfered this to go along with the great Animated series V0l- 1 - 4 showing up on My Spleen, they have done a spectacular job to the series and I hope this honors that. I have also dug out my original Pizza Hut give-away tapes that included two five minute round table discussion by Stan lee and others discussing what it took to get the animated Series luached and the direction it is going to take. I was un-happy when the discussions weren’t on the Vol-1 DVD that was released. I have also cleaned up the video and color corrected the picture and cleaned the audio.
Here is some info on the release.

This is my first transfer that will be creator catalog. Also included is the Pizza Hut give away comic book scans as well as the OOP and very rare UNCANNY X-men FIRST APPEARANCE ANNUAL FROM MARVEL. SCANS TO COME.

I hope you enjoy the THE UNCANNY X-MEN

Mitch

INFO:

A failed pilot episode based on the same Marvel comic book series that spawned the 2000 box-office blockbuster X-Men, this short animated film was originally a pilot for a planned animated program that was never picked up. Narrated by comic book legend Stan Lee and directed by Ray Lee, the man behind such classic 1980s cartoons as G.I. Joe and Jem!, X-Men introduces audiences to the titular mutated superheroes by highlighting the initial induction of Kitty Pryde (aka Shadow Cat) into the elite organization. Featuring the voice talents of Michael Bell and Neil Ross, X-Men was also released under the title Pryde of the X-Men. ~ Matthew Tobey, All Movie Guide

4. Are there any scenes you are starting from scratch?

I'm not sure what you mean. No, no new animation is being created for this edit. That would be crazy.

****What I mean is, there raw state such as the scenes in the workprint.

Such as you animated the claw in one scene yourself, was that hard? and are there other scenes like that that you are addingt hings back in? Little things... sorry if I sound confusing but it's interesting stuff...

I am starting to get interested in your project OCP. I have a couple of questions?

1. Is this the closest possible version of the Thief and the cobbler to the workprint? or is this the way you want it?

2. Where are you getting your knowledge of the scenes that were never finished

3. Do you plan for your version to do justice and pay tribute to what Richard tried to do?.

4. Are there any scenes you are starting from scratch?

Kirby Puckett Dead at 44
Time
I am sure everyone has heard that Hall of Famer Kirby Puckett of the Minnesota Twins has passed away. Kirby was one of my childhood heros growing up. I used to listen to all the Minnesota Twins games on WCCO radio when I was a kid. I can remember listning everytime he came to bat and you just knew he was gonna smack one to win the game.
He once told at an autograph signing that to "go for your dreams and never give up" I did just that! and I am not doing to bad in my life right now. Sorry! for it being an OFF TOPIC and nothing to do with Star wars or any movie but when you step back and look at it all from my piont of view it was one heck of a childhood ride I will nver forget.
If there is anyone else out there that saw him play then they will know for sure what I am talking about. I once made a video where I was pretending to be him and my friend was the Twins announcer Bob Casey saying KIrbeeee Pucket!!

Just thought I would share this with all my friends at Originaltrilogy.com. It makes you step back and realize how important life is and how important capturing the past and to never forget things are. That being said, let's keep up all the restoring and preservation of the art that we love becasue if we don't it will be gone.

Thanks for your time and say a prayer if your a believer.

Help Wanted: The Voyage Home - Star Trek IV (Released)
Time

Stardate 8390.0
It’s the 23rd century, and a mysterious alien power is threatening Earth by evaporating the oceans and destroying the atmosphere. In a frantic attempt to save mankind, Kirk and his crew must time travel back to 1986 San Francisco where they find a world of punk, pizza and exact-change buses that are as alien as anything they’ve ever encountered in the far reaches of the galaxy.

For release in Japan, Paramount added a short segment to the beginning of the film which gives a brief overview of the events that occurred in The Wrath of Khan and The Search for Spock. The Pan & Scan editions are the only versions of the film to include this 3½ minute introduction.

Anyone got this segment beside me, I have some bad tape problems in mine…

If anyone has this I would like to transfer and then begin work on a restoration of the segment in widescreen… my version has subs from another country and is fullscreen…

Anyone?
