I am still looking for someone to create menu art and a dvd cover art to keep the lines of the Superman II. If anyone has any talent in this area, please contact me.

Superman II RIC had wonderful cover art, I couldn't begin to draw anything that fantastic. It would be cool to bookend since we are putting forth the effort.
If anyone has any talents -lmk! It would be only fitting to have the Cover and Menus similar to the SII-RIC. The RIC II logo looks awesome.

Thanks in advance.

Also, I have come across yet another wonderful direct first gen copy of the ABC cut. Now if I can just get him to send me a copy, lol! The guy is a very cool dude and has his own website. So I think he is gonna help.

Just to make sure its not a player issue, do other tapes work with the BETA player? Sometimes there are professional shops that might be able to transfer tapes with tracking issues.

I contacted a guy that transfer old movies and he said he was worried about Copyright issues. He could re-thread it into a new cassette but I did that and it still didn't work.

Ya! I checked that, I have about 7 Beta tapes and they work great but this one has problems. It's really a downer but we will survive. We have some good material for the edit.

I have previewed the BETA tape on my new Betamax player.

Bad News: The tape still has major tracking problems. I even tried replacing the case. It seems it suffers from TAPE ROT - it tracks horrible in many areas.

The picuture was very good IMO - if it didn't have the tracking issues.

The scenes I would have used was the council scenes, they were not so washed out in this version as they are on others.

All in all it's a major downer! But wew will contiue to work with what we got, and we do have some good copies.
Thanks to all that have contibuted so far ;-)

I was able to grab the Early Euro and Special Zeist versions fairly easy, but Extended Zeist took me over a month to get. (Thanks goes to the seeder!)

I was quite surprised at the Extended Zeist dialog differences. I think some of the music cues were different as well, but maybe I'm thrown off as I watched part of the film on a different system.

Anyway, a terrific job guys! BTW, what's the difference between Special Zeist v1 and v2?

I am going to post these somewhere on the net again soon! I have been getting a ton of questions about them. I don;t think they are around anymore!

Now on
WIKIPEDIA -

Some one posted this about the Extended Zeist Version - very cool!

Some time after the 2004 version was released, a handful of fans took scenes from all three officially released versions, as well as the deleted scenes, and edited together a well crafted fourth version of the film that ran for nearly 2 hours and contained all the new Director's Cut footage but retained the Zeist aspect. In addition to the Director's Cut footage and Deleted Scenes, they also took the well known Fairytale Ending and incorporated it into the end of the film.

Update:
GOOD NEWS

I recieved a tape from a real nice person that is just a part of the second half of the KCOP cut. However, the good thing is it is the best quality I have ever scene, a real GEM. I would put it at a VHS quality level of an official 80's released video of the film. I have compared it to the Warner original release and it's DAMN close. (that's how good it is) to bad we didn't have the first half. But we can't have cake and eat it too. OR cane we? we are geting close.

Once again, the bad thing is it is just the second half.

So now we are getting somewhere ;-)

THIS IS GONNA BE GOOD!

Update:

I am in the process of buying a Beta player once again.
It is tough to not get outbid on EBAY on one of these things.

Notes: I have looked over the stuff I have assembled it and it looks great. (minus the Beta tape) whcih keep in mind its an original recording, now if memory serves me correctly it awesome - tape rot is possible - keeping fingures crossed.

Items we will be using -

Beta Superman KCOP -
Superman - The ABC cut -
Original KCOP channel 10 broadcast -
Second half a KCOP copy which may even be better ( someone here is sending it to me)
The archived - TCM - restoration of Superman - The Movie - This was created just before the Special Edition was released.
The all new transfers from the mega set -
The original VHS and the Special Edition tape as a guide and possibly some sound and footage (if better quality)

This film will be full on fullscreen - no switch back and forth / widescreen to full - sound will be the original dolby sound ( not the Thau version)

Project is getting looking good -

If there is anyone out there with better copies ( so you think) please send them) we want the best to move forward on this project.

Thanks

Mitch

Phineasbg/ HIGHLANDER II: Extended Versions (Released)
Time
At the time we created the Special Ziest Edition we didn't have a widescreen transfer of the original European -AKA: International Version, British Cut. Later, when we finally finshed and released it we came across ( with a little help form a few on this board) a widescreen transfer - Bad thing was it that the colors were not that good and it was horribly greenish. We then had to restore the transfer, color correct and insert the finshed product into the full frame scenes fro the Version 1 - Fairly simple my partner said. So to sum it up - Version I - had some full framed scenes - Version 2 - is the full on widescreen aspect throughout!

BtW! Thanks for the kind words, wait until you see what we are working on now, it's not Highlander releated but it's coming soon!!
