That's really great- thanks! :-)
That's really great- thanks! :-)
I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but I sent an email to Roger Ebert once, several years ago (about something unrelated to SW) but I got a reply.SilverWook said:
We really need someone like Roger Ebert though. He once called Disney out on their practice of cropping Snow White and other pre-widescreen classics to fit modern theater screens, and they listened. Subsequent reissues were pillarboxed.
Has he ever weighed in on the special editions? I can't recall if he ever reviewed them...

If the world doesn't blow up in 2012. ;-)

A lot of people seem to like dark_Jedi's burns of the g-force script, though I have very serious reservations about them for their detail and grain removal and would not recommend them for this reason.

Update: Had a quick scan of it. I have a feeling dark_jedi's next version will become THE one to own.
I definitely like having it as an option, since the music was composed for that scene. I guess I'm more used to the scene without it of course, but I like having the choice of which version to listen to.hairy_hen said:
Do you like having that music there? I think the scene is improved by it--otherwise something just isn't quite right. The music adds emotional resonance, and I don't know why they decided to get rid of it, but I'd understand if some folks didn't want it there, since no 'real' version of the movie had it.

That's what she said. ^_~
I'm very sorry, Mielr, but I couldn't resist.

The problem with Return of the Jedi is the fact that all the actors look like they just want to get done with it.
I love it- flaws and all. It had enough great, classic moments to make up for the weaker aspects.

I'm pretty sure there's some hate for the prequels here...
Holyday Special?! You mean just the cartoon, right?

Mielr! You're supposed to do all six, like I did in post #2.

but fixing the music-editing mistakes in ESB would be great. That would be my one suggestion.
I have no experience in audio editing, so if you have a link to this audio already done I could add it.

So you are not interested in hairy_hens new 70mm mix, or the 5.1 upmix of hairys new mix?
also give me ideas for all 3, or I could just keep them the same as what they are already.
...of course! ;-)

Just wanted to let anyone know who's interested that I am doing a version 3 of all 3 films, and want to know what audio files people would be interested in having included.
I am ditching the subs because I have no idea why they turned red on me, or how to change them back to what they are supposed to be, so ditching subs altogether.
What about getting in touch with Kevin Smith via Twitter, or something like that. I just joined the "I will not buy star wars on blu-ray...." on Facebook, Kevin Smith should be made aware, as I'm sure he'd join, too.
To what address is everybody sending their letters?

The "not 720p, and not from a laserdisc" edition

That'll be an easy letter to write.
Lucasfilm has a tight grip on deleted scenes- they would have never allowed a "lost cut" to be broadcast, in any way, shape or form.
This may be a silly question, but does that mean you haven't seen G-Force's SW in it's entirety? (either Dark_Jedi's version or some other version that used one of G-Force's scripts?)
zombie84 said:
G-Force's script obviously is cleaner looking, but IMO it's too clean. It looks like video from some of the shots I've seen, I don't feel like I am watching a film from the 1970s..

Hmm... sounds like you're not trying hard enough.

I'm a female (most everyone here already knew this, though). ;-)
Alright... let's hear your side now. What's it like being the Star Wars girl?
