Look for Carrie Fisher in upcoming Jenny Craig commercials- she's their new spokesperson! :-)

Sorry- I haven't paid attention to that thread for quite a while.
Is Zion's site down? "can't find server" ?

Every time something like this comes out (despite my HUGE reservations), I always find myslef even more disappointed. I know it's coming, it's just... when it gets here.... it sucks that much more....
I was thinking about re-titling this thread anyhow, since it's pretty much only about Pittrek's project(s) now (if that's OK with you, Pittrek.) :-)
Same here- I'm really only interested in 3. ;-)
That's nice- I saw the tail end of that the other nite on TV. I was hoping to record it the next time it airs.SilverWook said:

I was wondering the same thing- it does seem that they were referencing something else.SilverWook said:
Luke's brief encounter with that Wampa had an amazing amount of pathos. Was that based on something from another movie?
...and "Lapti Nek" in the "Risky Business" spoof. ;-)SilverWook said:
The fact the Sarlacc doesn't have that damned Audrey II mouth, and we got original Anakin ghost makes me think someone on the show is on our side. (Not to mention "Yub Nub" song!)

Is there Life on Mars???
Yeah but it's a god awful small affair.
Interesting. That very much contradicts the claim that very little of her contribution remained in the final script.
A case of Star Wars burn-out, perhaps? Or poor publicity for the auction?

Vanity Fair interview with Kershner from October:

I was saddened to hear of his passing today. He was a wonderful artist.
He directed my favorite movie, and I will always have immense respect for him.
I hope his version of ESB will be given proper treatment again, someday.
Would anyone here be interested in participating "sticker campaign"? We could do something similar for the blu-ray set as well and it wouldn't be difficult.
Quiet, but effective enough to raise awareness.
It would be great if we could somehow organize, and print off stickers saying something like "this boxed set contains the 2004 version of Star Wars, not the original 1977 version", and surreptitiously stick them to the boxes at local stores.

Also, my "Han Shot First" clip has gotten over 5,000 additional hits since the CNN article. I changed the text last nite to drive the point home more forcefully for the benefit of anyone who isn't aware of the history.
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd like to hear them. :-)
I sometimes wonder if you should remove the zoom tag so that it stays boxed in on all four sides like on the official release.

One more thing. Mark Hamill is lying. He was either lying before or after this scene was released.
I think he is lying after the fact. George needs him to lie, if he doesn't than George is screwed on this scene and would have wasted his money on a bombshell extra scene that would go a long way in selling a crap load of Star Wars Blu-Rays. Its all about the money to George and Mark has decided to support George's "vision".

He actually believed that what he saw was the remains of the original Death Star, and that half of it was blown away.
I have several of Sansweet's books and there's no doubt he's been a great fan and a supporter of the franchise, but the fact is he became a LFL sycophant, and whether he wanted to or not- told an outright LIE to the fans when he presented the GOUT DVDs.
Maybe he voluntarily left LFL, or maybe he was let go, but I hope whichever is the case, that he's having second thoughts about being an accessory to the current LFL culture, and I hope that he'll end up doing something constructive and positive for the preservation of the films that we all love.

It stopped being fun for me in 1997 with the release of the SEs. Unfortunately, my love for all-things-Star Wars is now a love/hate thing. I love the originals, I hate the SEs and what's been done to the OT.

Good grief. Anyone have something worthwhile to say?

Love or hate the guy, he has an impressive collection of SW items a lot of us wish we could have had, or still owned today. To label the entire collection "crap", or wish it to burn is really not cool. :/

And no, this isn't fake. Anyone who has the "sounds" book will verify this.
I don't know about the UK, but in the US they pretty much stopped the factory-folding of movie posters in the early-mid 1980s. Maybe JT34 worked at a cinema after that time period (?)adywan said:

......And you say that you once worked in the cinemas so you should know that at that time many posters of that size were given to the cinemas folded and not rolled because of the size. i have a supersize poster of the Star Wars / Empire double bill that i got direct from my local cinema and that was folded exactly the same way when they received it.
