I just watched a few minutes of AOTC on Spike (I couldn't take any more than that). it's amazing to me that even though I saw the film in the theater, I had no memory of the scenes I saw on TV.

The CGI looks even worse on TV- the characters don't look like they're part of their environment. They LOOK like they're standing in front of a green-screen with CG cartoon creatures surrounding them. That's one of many fatal flaws.

This is all very different than what happened for the DVD release in '04. Aside from this forum, Home Theater Forum, and some other sci-fi and movie related forums, there really was no mention of the addition of Hayden to ROTJ (which was a MAJOR alteration), the new (worse) Jabba in ANH, etc.

Now, the blu-ray alterations are being mentioned on countless entertainment sites, blogs, the radio station I was casually listening to a while ago, and there's still 2 weeks 'till these things are released.

There's been a sea change of some sort. Who knows if anything good will come of it, but something has changed.

I was actually just sitting here and the announcer on the radio station I'm listening to mentioned the uproar over the new blu-rays. They played the audio from that joke nooooooooo youtube video (the "heh heh heh" one). ;-)

I've been trying to keep on top of the Facebook page as best I can, adding video clips and pics as they leak (thanks to everyone that has joined!)

But, remember that anyone here can post videos, pics, etc on the page, so if there's something you think would add something to the page, please post it as it will be more efficient than going through me, OR if there's a site that you think would be a good place to promote the Facebook page, please mention the name or link to it. That would be a great help! :-)

BTW- thanks to whoever added the extra category on the poll (if it was someone here...LOL).

Even on HTF the Lucas apologists have been unusually quiet today - maybe now they've gotten a little taste of what it's like to have your favorite films ruined.

I think Lucas really has gone too far this time.

The whole scene with the emperor/Luke/Vader was very strong as it was BECAUSE Vader was silent.  Just the way he was standing there looking at what was happening was extremely powerful - there was more expression in his silent sadness than by adding juvenile dialogue.  George simply doesn't understand the less-is-more concept; he believes that more is always better. Notice that he has never removed anything from his movies, he always adds more and more doo-dads.

I have some film cels from SW- I'll have to check and see if there are any that show Luke's saber blade. I always thought his sword was the same color as Ben's, too. :-/

Do I have a choice? LOL! I'd actually be happy if I knew for sure that the OOT was coming out on blu-ray four, five & six years from now.

Why 2015/16/17, though? 2017 is SW's 40th anniversary, 2020 is ESB's and 2023 is ROTJ's.
