what'a good age to introduce kids to star wars??
Time
The only SW film my 4-year-old has seen is ROTS, but that's only because I wanted her and my son (1 year in April) to see an SW film in a theater. (She didn't like it, thought it was too scary.)

It's been a looooooooooooooong time since I've actually sat down and just watched SW, either on LD or one of the fan-made DVDs. Unless she asks otherwise, the films she will see first will be the OT, simply because there's no way I'm ever going sit and play the PT for myself.

"Big departure from the original...now the fleet has 2 Battlestars??"

Just another in a long line of.....though I also wonder how long they are going to keep the Pegasus around. There's still a lot of bad blood between the two crews, so it could get very interesting.

"See, I do know how to search."

With all due respect, this was in one of your links: "i spoke w/ someone at my local video store about this and he told me that he had heard (rec.movies.urban.legends)..."

It's little more than one person hearing something from another person. If you've ever played the game "Grapevine" in school, you would know how quickly and easily a simple fact or assumption can be distorted.

Unless this footage can ever be found and seen, it's all academic.

What You're Reading Now: Revisited

"The author of those books, Kevin J. Anderson, is the same guy who wrote the Jedi Academy trilogy. His books were some of the better star wars books. "

I'm aware of that, since I've read a lot of EU, and I consider his to be the worst. His Dune and X-File books are very good, though.

"I'm also reading "The Name of the Rose", but it's real slow going. "

Is that the book that the movie of the same name is based on? I love that film.

"I've finally got around to begin reading "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sleep?" It's the novel Blade Runner is loosely based on."

"Loosely" is right - I was bored to tears. I guess I just wasn't ready for it at the time.

I'm currently reading "The Machine Crusade", the second book of the earliest Dune prequel trilogies. I find it a lot more interesting than some other prequels that are out there. I've already finished the first set of prequels, but I only got as far as book 4 (Children of Dune? It's been awhile) of the regular series. It was starting to get a little tedious. I can see why only the first was made into a film.
