"Owen was always afraid that your father's adventurous life might influence you, might pull you away from Anchorhead." He shook his head slowly, regretfully at the remembrance. "I'm afraid there wasn't much of the farmer in your father."
Luke turned away. He returned to cleaning the last particles of sand from Threepio's healing armature. "I wish I'd known him," he finally whispered.
"He was the best pilot I ever knew," Kenobi went on, "and a smart fighter. The force…the instinct was strong in him." For a brief second Kenobi actually appeared old. "He was also a good friend."
Suddenly the boyish twinkle returned to those piercing eyes along with the old man's natural humor. "I understand you're quite a pilot yourself. Piloting and navigation aren't hereditary, but a number of the things that can combine to make a good small-ship pilot are. Those you may have inherited. Still, even a duck has to be taught to swim."
"What's a duck?" Luke asked curiously.
"Never mind. In many ways, you know, you are much like your father." Kenobi's unabashed look of evaluation made Luke nervous. "You've grown up quite a bit since the last time I saw you." - ANH novelization

(Many years ago, I found a Japanese website that had the full text of all three novelizations - with occasional spelling errors.

I appreciate your enthusiasm, but one of my biggest problems with any version of H2 is the inital premise: the stupid shield over the Earth. Unless you can make that go away.......well........
Oh, and immortals coming from another planet kinda blew it for me too. In my mind, the film just went in so many wrong directions all at the same time. If it had been anything other than a Highlander film, it might have been better - it just seemed like someone took two very disparate films, and tried to slap them together.

I hated the Jedi Acadmy series, and stopped reading the Han Trilogy at the beginning, when the wookie who raised Han died. //roll eyes.
I started Tatooine Ghost awhile back, but I don't know where I left it.

"My favorite game ever was Dark Forces."
DF was extremely cool. It was very dark subject matter, and had incredible puzzles to figure out. Fun stuff.
"about a year ago I bought the collector's cd-rom version from ebay"
I played X-Wing allllll the time. On every level, I would stay and take out every single tie-fighter , and when all the waves were exhausted, I would take out the Star Destroyer. And this was without invulnerability or unlimited weapons. I was that good (and probably still am.
Tie Fighter was okay, but just not quite the same. One thing I thought was funny was the tractor beam on the super-duper tie fighter. It was a pain in the butt to lock on, so I always turned it off and diverted power to weapons and speed. MUCH more effective!
BTW, just thought I'd add....I have a stand-up coin-op console game: Karate Champ. Anyone remember that one? "Half-Point!....Full-Point!"

Anyways, it got old after awhile. We had about 2-3 boards (my mom liked pulling it out during parties), and then they finally got thrown away.
Interesting story: In high school, I found one of the boards and we played with it at my friend's house. Among other things, it said I would marry a Mexican girl, and I had always pictured a girl that looked hispanic (wouldn't have minded.) In college, I met (and eventually married) a beautiful blond-haired, blue-eyed girl. Well, turns out she got her mother's colors, as her father is full-blooded Puerto Rican.
Does that count? If so, I'm glad the board didn't say it would be a Mexican boy.

Just like beer: after 5-6 bottles, you really don't mind the flavor anymore.
