I saw a cool SW T-shirt at Target (Simple STAR WARS [over-under] with faded yellow ink), and of course those were all sold out, along with the "Chewie" shirt (with picture.)

They are actually both THX mastered, but the Faces set is newer (and the DC is actually rife with mastering errors.)

As to the temporal smoothing, the reason it caused problems is because after each frame was "smoothed" by comparison with the previous frame, the subsequent "smoothed" frame was used to fix the next one, instead of the original unsmoothed frame. This led to loss of detail and ghosting. In this respect, the non-THX versions actually have a leg up in quality.
