Jokes thread : Reloaded
Time
"After thinking for a few minutes, the cowboy says... "I wish that no matter where I go, beautiful women will want and need me."

***POOF*** He turned into a tampon. "

Another version: A black guy finds a bottle, rubs it, and a genie comes out.

The Genie says, "I will grant you 3 wishes".

The black man says, "I want to be white, tight, and outtasight!"

So the genie turned him into a tampon.

Oh, speaking of black men, how not to get beat up by the police.

BEERFEST !!!
Time
You mean "sneak" into it.

"A movie about an international beer contest without Vince Vaungh"

Agreed. There had better be a cameo by the McKenzie brothers as well, eh!

[EDIT]

Oh my dear god, the trailor is a riot!

A "High Brau" film? Ms. Yeast? Resemblances are coincidental and quite sad? The closing boiler plate is the best part. LOL!

And Thumper was my favorite drinking game.

I have a sinking feeling this is going to be one of those times when the trailer is 100 times better than the film.

YouTube and fan-made Star Wars videos
Time
Lucasfilm has been informed that YouTube recently removed from its site several fan-made Star Wars spoofs and parodies. We would like the fan film community to know that this was not done at our request.

Apparently the action was taken by YouTube as a result of a misunderstanding of a request to remove an item containing material taken from starwars.com without our permission. We have asked YouTube to restore any works that they inadvertently removed.
- SW.COM

Interesting. There was talk in the Fan-film section of TF.n about some fanfilms being removed from YT, and others remaining, seemingly with no reason other than LFL said something or other. People were getting worried about fan-films in general, but this apparently clears that up.

How to create Day For Night effect?
Time
That's a good question. To my knowledge, two DFN shots that I've heard of are the bedroom scene in Manunter (The night before he leaves to find the killer) and scenes of Oliver Reed in Gladiator (Since he died during filming, Scott reused existing footage to make the remaining scenes that he needed.) In these cases, there seemed to be a lot of deep blues, kinda like Terminator 2. Maybe that had a lot of DFN shots as well?

DVD to MPEG2 for Vegas
Time
1) First, you need the MainConcept MPEG2 Plug-in registered.

2) Insert the muxed VOBs directly. Vegas will recognize both the video and audio. To my knowledge, you can't insert the elemental streams. I, personally, like to use DVDShrink, as I can set a beginning and endpoint. You don't want to insert the entire VOB into Vegas, nor do you want to do edits on the MPEG, as native MPEG editing is slow. Cut out the scene you want, render out to AVI, and then edit that video instead.
