"Warning: The following material may offend some people. It contains well thought-out arguments against selfish capitalistic censorship, and should be read with extreme caution. The material in this post will challenge what you strongly believe in, and may change your mind on something which was very important to you."

You know what, DanielB? IT DOESN'T MATTER!

First of all, "capitalistic censorship"?!? I was going to put these on MySpleen, you moron.

Secondly, you are not going to change my mind or transfer in any way, shape or form. I'm not even going to bother reading the rest of your post. What's the point, since I'm going to make my transfer MY way. If YOU don't like it, too bad, BUT DON'T COME IN HERE BITCHING AND WHINING BECAUSE YOU AREN'T GETTING THE VERSION YOU WANT! Lucas didn't give me the version I wanted, so I'm investing my own time and money to satisfy myself. You, on the other hand, are having a temper tantrum (over 5 frames of lightsaber touch-ups that can't be seen at normal speed, I might add), and mistakenly believe it's going to make any difference whatsoever. At this point, all you are doing is embarassing yourself and raising your post count.

For all your talk of "censorship", I can't get over how much you are trying to censor my version. If you continue to troll and spam in my thread, I will contact Jay about your behavior. Post in a thread, like Moth3r's, that has a version you want.

Better yet, if you want to rally against the "evils" of censorship in the SW films, make your own thread. It's off topic here. "Move along, move along".

Info: Stop ebay pirates

I believe Rikter does something along those lines. I know he has personally contacted people in the process of bidding, and sold them sets.

That being said, $30 really isn't cheap when you consider having a capable computer, laserdisc player, DVD/Editing software, DVD burner, cases, printing labels, etc. Not to mention the time involved (except for those who make their version in a week with a DVD-recorder.) Unlike the DVD manufacturers, most people making their own versions don't have the necessary infrastructure or means of production to offset their initial costs. Economy of scale is certainly not on our side.

Thought on de-SE'ing the DVD

"The title on the foreign language angles on the DVD are in fact the correct speed."

The foreign crawl is correct, the foreign surround soundtrack is correct - does Lucas hate Americans now? LOL!

(If any foreigners are offended, please understand I wasn't referring to you specifically - I was referring to the other foreigners. If they are offended, then I was referring to the Dutch. )

Do you think George Lucas might release the original triloggy
Time
"Lots of people think it is about three more(7,8,9) flims"

That won't happen. Lucas took all of the crucial events from those chapters (Luke's real sister, meeting the Emperor) and squeezed them into ROTJ. There's really nothing left of the original material to use for any future post-OT chapters - at least, not enough to fill 3 films.

At this point, I'd rather Lucas leave Star Wars alone.

HELP!!! No audio in VirtualDub

"What program do you use to capture?"

I ended up using the capture program with the stand-alone MainConcept encoder, because it gave me the most consistent captures with no dropped frames (crucial for good IVTC.) Sony Vegas works great with my Fire wire camcorder (and keeps audio and video in sync), but it apparently doesn't like my third-party videocard drivers. Otherwise, I would use it for every thing.

As for running filters during capture - don't. You want your CPU focusing getting all that video in the best form possible. Save your editing/filtering for the resulting capture, when you can test without making anything permanent. The only filter I've run is the cropping filter, which actually cuts down the amount of video the program must capture, so that's a good thing.
