DanielB, what part of "You caused this" don't you get? He decided this because of your behavior towards him and others on these boards ! Do we really need to hit you over the head with this fact!?! Is this not a big enough clue? Are you seriously in that much denial?

This thread is being started in the hopes that concerned forum members can speak out against a tremendous problem that plagues these boards.

DanielB's history, and even his recent posts, make it extremely clear that he is incapable of communicating with people on a meaningful level.

Seems like he's well aware of the animosity he causes. What he does not realize is that this is the core of the problem. It is this behavior that routinely aggravates several other members on this board, with no end in sight. In addition to that, despite acknowledging to no personal experience with the techniques being used in these projects, he continues to treat even the professionals amongst us as misguided and misinformed.

The atmosphere on these boards has changed significantly. I know zion was very upset at the fighting that was occuring, and took a break from these boards because of it. Laserman is leaving us now, being fed up with the treatment he is receiving from an admitted video amature, and to be honest, the only reason I returned to these boards was because it seemed like DanielB had stopped posting here. Sadly, he has come back with a vengeance, and is back to his old tricks.

I realize everyone has an opinion, but it's sad to see one person terrorizing everyone whom he disagrees with, and attempting to drive off others whose projects offend him. I would argue that his moralizing and philosophizing have as little place on these boards as the projects which he consistently rails against. On top of that, I can't help but wonder if his opinion is shared by the very creator of this forum, who has seen fit to create it and to sticky the project posts, regardless of the nature of the project, for others to share in and enjoy. Who is DanielB to say which projects are and aren't to be here? That's very facetious of someone who claims we have no right to change the SW films in any way, because they belong to Lucas.

As to being facetious, let me save DanielB some typing: stop trying to make amends with me. Laughing at my jokes and calling me "mature and civil" are just too little, too late. This has nothing to do with holding a grudge. This has everything to do with knowing, based on your posting history, what kind of person you are, and knowing that I want nothing to do with you. A leopard cannot change his spots, and you know full well that your posts are distracting, annoying, and very myopic in regards to why other people come to these boards. perhaps you took my recent silence as an implicit truce, but I can assure you, it is not. I've simply been working behind the scenes to prevent people from goading you with their responses. Many of your initial responses in these threads make it clear that you are more than able to create flack on your own accord, and yet you want to paint everyone else as the bad guy after you deliberately ruffle their feathers. Unfortunately, my efforts to save these boards have failed, because you continue to rub people the wrong way, and then act dismissively about any problems you may have cause, or feelings you have hurt. Even the people who do agree with some of your beliefs cannot stand the manner in which you express them. It's no wonder no one on these boards supports you (and please, no wishful comments about the "silent" support you claim to have on these boards. I've not seen one person put themselves wholly in your camp, and for good reason. No one wants to be associated with you.)

It's quite clear that you desire attention, and that the majority of these projects offend you. Hopefully, you will find it in your heart to seek attention at another, more pleasing forum, because you have shown an inability to provide any positive encouragement or assistance beyond meaningless token gestures: "Hey, I bought his shirt.", or just parroting the advice given by others.

Folks, this is probably the last hope for this forum against a not-so-phantom menace. As much as I would hate to leave again, there's no point staying and watching DanielB trample over these boards like they were his stomping ground. Hopefully, if and when Jay sees this thread, he will either warn DanielB, tighten his leash, or at the very least, institute a much needed "ignore" function (excellent idea, ADM).

Make your feelings known to Jay here, and in time, I will contact him so he can see how fed up we are about such trolling. Do please try to keep it civil, but make one thing clear - we've had enough!

And DanielB, don't waste your time defending yourself in this thread. No one's going to buy it. The damage is done, and you've no one to blame but yourself. (Of course, if anyone else is willing to defend DanielB here, go right on ahead. I'm certainly interested in seeing if such a person exists.)

P.S. To those of you who are still interested in the X0 project, fear not. I won't leave you hanging. At the very least, if I have to leave, there will be updates in my thread, and I will contact you when the DVDs are done.

What card were you using? My card didn't capture at 640x480 until I found some excellent third-party software. I found it funny that the software that came with the card didn't allow the card to perform at its full potential, so you might want to take a look at the card and get back to me.

I guess it would depend on who you ask, then. As for me, I intend to make at least one straight transfer from the X0. I also hope to make a Pre-ANH edit from the X0, as well as a de-SE'ed DVD version. I have created a great SW crawl that follows the example from the DVDs, but I don't have anyplace to host it to show others. I was planning on getting some cheap webspace this month, but it'll have to wait for next month. If someone wants to host it (9 Mbs.), let me know.
