Two ways:

1) You can adjust the capture qualities under Video>Properties (This is your best bet, especially, if you use Video Essentials to calibrate.

2) You can adjust the colors of the video once you have the video in the editing space. To make sure your colors are "NTSC safe", look at the video plug-in s.

Something else to keep in mind - make sure that your monitor, itself, is calibrated as well, if you want WYSIWYG.

(BTW, I use Vegas 5 myself. I love it, and I'm capturing right now. )

"4. Fake the voice over scene with Yoda using cleverly edited Liam Neeson samples from his body of work and also include #3."

If it turns out anything like the Obi-wan sample you sent, that should work out nicely.

"5. Have Liam ADR dialogue similar to the script, then include #3 as well."

"Is that...legal?"

"Because, I don't understand why he decided to quit at that point. Well, I do, but the falling cape just doesn't impress."

I didn't quite get that reference. What does it mean? (To you, anyways.) I kinda wondered as to what prompted his "Into exile, I must go" line, so in that respect, you are right - putting the Qui-gon V.O. there would be an excellent idea.

BTW, MF. When you get to the lava part, please cut out all the shots showing Obi-wan and Anakin standing on the raft and droid. The close-ups are fine, but the parts showing them hovering around and floating are ridiculous. Hell, I'd almost consider having Obi-wan jumping directly from the huge arm down to the "high ground", but there's some crucial dialogue in the middle of all that.

My review of Episode III (minor, minor spoilers)

Palps: Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis, the Wise?

Anakin: No.

Palps: I thought not. It's not a story the Jedi would tell you. It's a Sith legend.

If we were to take this at face value, and assume the Jedi know about this legend (as implied by Palps), then the story has to be over a thousand years old, since the Sith were considered gone by that time. (Note: I'm guessing Palps says this to make Anakin feel like the Jedi are keeping secrets from him.)

If the Jedi don't know about this story, then his comment about Anakin having heard about it is suspect, and suggests a lie.

If Palpatine is making it all up to begin with (as I believe), then none of this can be taken for granted - especially the power to create life, which conveniently is brought up by Palpatine during the time that Anakin is having dreams of his wife dying. Does no one else see the correlation there?

And again, this power is never used nor seen since, and Palps even says they will have to discover the secret, which shows even more what a trememdous lie this is.

"Also, creating life and keeping life alive are two different things. Its possible that Palpatine could have masterd the ability to 'create' life through the force, but not prevent death."

*I* would agree with you, but Palps does not.

Palp: "She'd live, through the power only one has achieved, but if we work together, I'm know we can discover the secret."

So he's either making this power out to be more than it is, or he's just making it up as he goes along. I think you know where my belief lies in this.

"And you really must change the title? "

Rikter, you don't like the title "Revenge of the Sith"? (or is this MagnoliaFan's "creative decision". )

"I'm not that bothered by Vader's NOOOOOO. After all, 20 years have passed when we see him in ANH. It's the stumbling that got me. Still, even then I can understand the "getting use to his new limbs" angle."

Wow, and I'm completely the opposite. The stumbling made perfect sense, but the "Nooo" sucked. Every other grunt and yell Vader (JEJ) gives in ESB and ROTJ is great. Too bad he never says anything of the kind in the OT, so that Lucas could copy/paste it (i.e. "Bring me my shuttle.")

"I'm also weighing things like if the Qui-Gon scene is not on the dvd, should I cut the reference altogether and the one in II, or finish the Qui-Gon scene myself."

I'm wondering about how the fake "Qui-gon" screen shot was created. That would be an excellent effect to use on existing video. Recreating the dialogue is something else (unless you just had Qui-gon standing behind Yoda while Yoda is talking to Obi-wan about him. )

That would actually take longer, unless you know someone who can host it for you. Youshareit is very qeick.

"Sometimes in a very bright part in a movie the image seems to tremble, in my avis it's like that thru the entire avi."

Your example sounds like blooming - the picture is too bright for the tv to handle. Is this a capture? Are your video settings correct? Are your colors NTSC safe?
