This scene is worth a watch just for the cornucopia of droids glimpsed in the last few seconds. An R2 with a transparent dome, what appear to be mouse droids shackled together like train carriages, and a gonk droid that bravely blocks Darth Vader's way.

Sounds like a good edit. Asking for feedback so I will add that I would rather the Rancor remains and the "Noooo" does not.

Seeing as you are including deleted scenes then I would reinstate the Endor Bunker shootout, on the grounds that it's a cool action scene, it features a brand new set environment, and it shows a tougher side to Han (which as you noted is lacking rather throughout ROTJ). There have already been restoration jobs done on this sequence (adding laser fx, music and re-editing), which you can see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gT-ZsR2P8dU

TN1 why share the work in progress on this site if you do not plan to release the finished restored scenes? Again, sorry for the question but I am interested in your project and the great results you are achieving however I am not quite following what your motivation / objective is?

It would be nice to get all the scenes cleaned up, but whilst some of them are more interesting as curio's, in particular I think the inclusion of several of the ROTJ scenes could genuinely improve the movie.

Obviously the blu-ray deleted scenes all have condition issues to varying degrees. In your experience do you believe any of the deleted scenes could ever be restored sufficiently to include in an HD edit without standing out as poorer quality? If so, which scenes?

This is a scene that was already restored and reinstated into the Special Edition release? Can you explain, as out of all the possible deleted scenes I'm not quite following why you have worked on this scene? Cheers.

If it appeared unclear in the clip, the idea was to have Anakin fly through the West Hanger, straight through the half doughnut ship and out the East Hanger. 

Agreed, this sequence works very well!

Thank you for posting the link to the 200MB version. That makes the world of difference and I recommend everyone to watch it this way rather than the compressed facebook version.

You can even see the blue glow of Dagobah's atmosphere through the cockpit as Luke approaches - fantastic attention to detail.

And the knobby spider shot is the perfect length imho, it's a deep shot with both foreground and background detail and it needs the extra second or two for the viewer to 'drink it in'. Beautiful work!

One new addition to STAR WARS REVISITED that I particularly liked was that when we first see the Death Star it's in orbit around a planet, based on the logic that it would have been constructed in orbit rather than deep space.

It's amazing that no one on this forum appears to have gone off topic and discussed the newly released trailers but it was interesting to see in the ROGUE ONE teaser that the Death Star is indeed shown that same way that Adywan did.

Perhaps when REVISITED is revisited for the HD version it might be tweaked so that the planet matches the ROGUE ONE version?

Hello there. I can only speak for what I have seen as an outsider, but even as an outsider it is clear that you have 'given' of yourself greatly to try and complete SW and ESB revisited. The effort, attention to detail and commitment to perfection you have shown is incredible.

Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back are true classics of cinema (I believe ESB was voted best movie of all time in an Empire Magazine poll a few years ago) and no one would argue that these films were not deserving of your talents.

But when I see the screenshots of Attack Of The Clones... the old saying "you can't polish a turd' is all that comes to mind. Do you have doubts?

My worry is that even if you create the greatest fan edit and revisited edition possible (and if any one can do that then you can) then the resulting film will still be weak. Some fx and visuals can be tweaked but too many of the key actors are sleep walking through the movies.

You obviously are up for the challenge, but will you be able to bear the downgrade of working on this far weaker material after having spent so many years with the comparative banquet that is Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back?

I do wish you luck and I will continue to follow your progress. I hope you can farm out more of the heavy lifting on the Prequel Trilogy so that you do not become over encumbered by the responsibility and workload, and I also think that what you have learned on ESB: Revisited will stand you in good stead. I am very excited for Return Of The Jedi: Revisited, and cannot wait to see what you can accomplish with that. It is a great time to be a Star Wars fan!

Wanted to add that I also preferred the first version of the canyon collision, and that this new sequence is incredible - superb job Adywan.

It is also a part of the original theatrical version of ESB not a later addition, and a fine early example of Phil Tippett's stop motion fx. I think it would be such a shame to lose it.

I understand your rationale is that it's the only shot of AT-ST's we see at the battle. Yes it is - but isn't that what makes Star Wars so incredible? Monsters that would form the basis for a whole lesser movie are glimpsed just once at the Cantina. Costumes that took weeks to craft only having seconds on screen. It is such things that cause the viewers imagination to expand, to fill the mind with moments that are never glimpsed on screen. I don't need to see the AT-ST in extra scenes - I can picture it zapping away at the Rebels in the trenches without the movie actually showing me that happening. I think perhaps you have seen it as a continuity problem when it really isnt - and I believe ESB: R will be a lesser film for trimming the shot.

I wonder if perhaps you might re-evaluate this decision, turn it over in your mind whether you really do have to lose this shot? There's a fan of yours here that would be very pleased if it ended up staying in your cut.
