I would like to change the title of my post, which contains a typo and my fanedit also saw a change of title. Is it possible to do that? If not, can I start a new thread with a new title? Tx for your help! 😉

Update July 24 :
I just finished a 2 hours 51 minutes version (credits included), edited with Sol point of view in mind, in a five arc structure, added soundtrack, some new sound fx to facilitate transition… It’s elevating the drama, the tragedy, that is already there but buried, plagued, by the weekly format.

I just finished a pass, tweaking transitions, music editing (replace some, and adding a few for dramatic effect (without exagerating) and adding a few sound Fx for continuity purposes only (I didnt redo sound Fx nor did I add new, I try to keep the editing in phase with the original work. Ex: I had to remove some musics, but I needed to keep foot steps in the grass, so I replace them, without the original music - I also needed to use silence between sentences, to recreate a roomtone which is really useful when you reedit dialogue…)…

I’m still waiting for some feedbacks, from colleagues, and I continue to improve the musical transitions (I don’t have the stems - which makes the job harder). I hope to make it available through private mail soon. 😉

A lot of filler, while making sure to keep the breather - as a screenwriter I know how to apply the “tension & release” principle…
Combining ep 3 & 7 already cut the flashback scenes in half…
I took care to keep in mind, and on screen, the tragedy of Sol’s demise, while trying to create empathy with Osha (which is non existent at the moment!).
The actual conclusion of the episode 8 is draging too long, for my taste, Sol is dead… Osha is escaping, so I reduced in lenght the scene under the tree… I used however some shots under the tree that I cross-cut during the conversation with Vernestra - as quick visual flashback, suggesting how maybe, Mae don’t remember anything…
I also used a lot of ovelapping sound editing between scenes, J-cut and L-cut…
I while try to compile the modifications that I’ve made soon.
The actual lenght is 2hrs 56min with credits and “fan edit notice”
All in all, I rearranged the continuity a lot…

Quite early after the fight kung fu scene - then 16 years earlier… merging scenes both from 3 & 7, then later during the last arc to show what happen… We undertand the cover up and why Osha is pissed…

Still working on it… Rearranging continuity with the last episode, cutting the rat lol - stuff like that, keeping the plot from unnecessary thing “feature film wise” to make story moving forward dramatically. I think emotionnally it works better when we experience Sol’s demise & Osha’S falling to the d… I’m gonna let people know here when it is finished… (I might wait for the soundtrack vol2 to be release as it helps me preserve the continuity between scenes that otherwise don’t match). Final lenght should be around 2h45-3hrs - but I still find it too long…

Hello there! 😉 French Canadian yes (which explain my bad English lol)
I might compile every alteration I’ve made… Quite a lot, but essentially for story purposes (I have Even used sound tracks from the series to smooth some new transitions). I really decided to focus on Sol’s guilt… I let the first kung-fu scene without some cringy lines (yes my child… Attack me bla-bla-bla lol), introduce the mystery sith figure and then to the « 16years earlier », a sequence a decided early on to merge some of the ep3 and 7. Like this we know early on in the story that the jedi messed up when Mama is « maybe » killed BANG I jump 16 years later with a calm Sol. But how is he going to deal with that event?? I think it is much more interesting emotionally then to keep too much informations from the audience, so much that we can’t invest with them and understand their personnal arc… for that reason I mostly cut Mae in the first part and Osha is already in custody (well she’s in the ship before the crash - I cut the actual crash as well lol)… I can’t wait to see how I’m gonna cut in the final episode!
