Yeah, that actually makes me wonder what if Tarkin would still be alive at the time of the second Death Star, and also would be in command of it....

All I have to say is that the stormtroopers and construction workers would have had LOTS of BBQ Ewok to eat well before the Rebels ever arrived.

LOl, yeah, "The Emperors Finest", royal Ewok, freshly BBQ by a DS Turbolaser.

Now, when a person with that much power and respect hears a phrase like, "Don't try to frighten us with your sorcerous ways Lord Vader. Your sad devotion to that ancient religion..." it would be like...WHAT?! He's dissing his religion and what he believes in, not to mention something that is PROVEN to be the greatest power in the galaxy?! If that were me, I'd kick his ass all the way to the Bahamas. In ESB, the two officers that made bad judgements and tactical mistakes were intantly KILLED by Vader, but a mistake is not made with the intention of being malicious. Admiral Motti openly insulted him and degraded him in front of the other officers...which, if he were the ESB Vader, would have led to a fate much worse than death...

To add to the effect, Tarkin tells him, "Vader, release him!", like he's saying, "Sparky, down boy!" WHAT?! Talking to a Sith like that?? Also Leia's line, "I should have expected to find you holding Vader's leash", adds even more to the effect by making it seem like that was Tarkin's reputation throughout the galaxy.

I agree that Tarkin should have a lot of authority, but not more than Vader.

Vader knew Tarkin for about 20 years, so I suppose that in 20 years they had much respect for each other. Vader would have killed Admiral Motti (SP?) if Tarkin didn't tell him to release him. In ESB Tarkin is death, and Vader isn't humaniod anymore (in ANH you still was 50% men, 50% machine, in ESB, it was just a heartless cyborg). About your changes, I think you should better make the PT fit the OT, and not the other way around, because thats the same mistake GL made, is to make the OT fit the PT, and not vica-versa.

Vegas and 5.1 audio mixing

Speaking of Vegas, I just bought it last night, but after installation I couldn't get the program to open. The opening screen just freezes. I have a feeling this is due to an incompatibility with my 64-bit processor and OS.

Is anyone else running Vegas on a 64-bit system? Do they have a patch or a driver I can download?

I've e-mailed Sony tech support, but you know how that is. Just thought someone on the boards might know. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Vegas should work on a 64-bit system, because I run it on Windows XP x64 right now, without any additional drivers or patches, did you already try to re-install Vegas?

Opening Crawl

Well, I should say "process", rather than template. Basically, I write the text in a Word doc that is formatted for the size I need. Then, I go through and add tiny spaces in between the letters for better justification. Each paragraph is in its own section, and each section is copy/pasted into Photoshop, where I remove the background color (normally white, but I made it black so that it is easier to see for removal), so that any "space" background shows through the letters. I then save this pic, and then swap it in for the default pic in my Combustion workspace, and render it out.

To be honest, this is a system that I came about through trial and error, and it works for me, but I would not recommend it for anyone else.

Oh, then I hope somebody else can help me with my problem.
Thanks for the efford MBJ!

I suppose someone might concentrate on inserting the altered scenes back into the Spec Editions. There would be a quality jump when you went back to the Laserdiscs but if Xion can capture so well then you might not notice that much! Plus it would be easier to concentrate on one scene (Hans Shoots First for example) and get that perfect rather than trying to do the whole film in one go.

OCPMOVIE already did this, WITHOUT the quality jumps (some scenes have slight quality jumps but most of them are unnoticible)
He just released Return of the Jedi Classic Edition, in September he released The Empire Strikes Back Classic Edition and back in May he released Star Wars Classic Edition. There are all great masterpieces!

Opening Crawl
Time
I normally work with Adobe After Effects to re-create aan opening crawl but this is most of the time for low-quality projects, now I tried it for my DVD project and the results are less then satisfing (SP), especially compared to the 2004 DVD crawl.

What program should I use to get a higher opening crawl that matches the quality of the DVD crawl?
Thanks in advance,

You know you’re an O-OT fan when............
Time

1. You refer to the original Star Wars as “Star Wars” and not “A New Hope”
2. You’ve seen each OT film at least 10 times.
3. You can play the entire movies in your head and have most if not all the lines memorized

5.You own a laserdisc or dvd transfer version of the O-OT.
6. You hate the changes to the OT, but you own the special edition and 2004 DVD anyway.
7. You rarely, if ever refer to SW, Empire and Jedi by their episode numbers, but you do so with the prequels.
8. You blame any and all plotholes on the prequels and NOT on the original films
9. You think the special effects from the O-OT are much more believable than the cgi stuff from the special editions and prequels.
10. You’ve cringed at three or more special edition changes while watching the movies.

12. Han shot first, end of story.

14. You know what O-OT, OT, PT and ILM stand for.
15. You prefer puppet Yoda to CGI Yoda. (I prefer CGI Yoda for the PT)
16. You love and hate George Lucas.
17. When watching the updated versions, you can point out every tiny minsicule change that was made.
18. You wish the prequels looked and felt more like the OT.
19. You would pay over $20 (per film) to see the O-OT on the big screen.

I probably will, but the second cover still needs some work, because I think it feels a bit empty.
EDIT: I added in more movie elements, I hope you will like this cover better
