Yea, but it is possible they wanted to include new space shots but for some reason they where left out of the final '97 SE print. Its also possible he is referring to un-seen BOE footage in early ROTJ trailers that might have been re-used for the SE trailer.

Just a minor correction here: it was actually done in the late 90s. The IMAX Special Effects presentation came out not long before the Special Editions, and in fact included material from the making of the Star Wars Special Edition. The actual release date was 1996.

Yea, but I thought they where shot for the actual movie but they left them out for some reason. Btw. I would call 1996 mid-90's

Sorry I didn't update for a while, I was in Austria (or whatever you call it in english

) for 3 days so I couldn't really work on 0.83 yet. I was about to check my mail a few minutes ago but for some reason WLM keeps getting the same annoying error message over and over again -.- So I can't give any updates on the opening crawl either (if their ARE updates)

Good idea of making the Endor scenes a bit foggy, I'll look into that. I would want to give you credit either but when I give everybody that brings up ideas credit then I would need to extend the ending credits by 40-50 seconds

(I ain't very good with color correction tools) I ran into a major set back in the development of this project. This morning my entire Windows XP setup crashed, and I lost all information on my hard disc. I didn't lose much information because I made a back-up yesterday, but I lost 3 "blue Luke" shots (they where pretty long), a few BOE shots and everything I did in Womble

Yea, LEGO Star Wars II is a great game. It has great gameplay, graphics, sounds etc., while the 2004 DVD's don't have a single of these things.

Hmm, these HD airings could be very interesting. Even when you need to compress this for a DVD the result will look better when working with the actually 2004 DVD.

I noticed this when darkning the Emperor arrives scene:

Look at the left top of the picture. Those scout troopers that are actually matte paintings don't really look like scout troopers

I can even see a face in that painting instead of a scout trooper

I finally found a way to remove the crappy green glow to Luke's blue saber

I almost finished the Emperor clash sequence, that will be the first complete "blue Luke" scene. Now the only things left to find out is a good way for my blaster bolts and I can start working on the Battle of Endor

Their where made some new shots for the SE, including a new Tantive IV vs Devastator scene, but some off them didn't make the final '97 SE cut. Thats why you didn't saw that Falcon shot in ROTJ.

Lol, I know that all opening crawls end with four dots, but I wanted to keep the three dots since ROTJ is the only movie with three dots in the crawl.
Btw. Could I ask everybody to stop posting new opening crawls? I'm using the one MagnoliaFan made last night now, but thanks for your ideas as well

Yea but i'm having trouble rotoscoping the blue saber. For ANH and ESB, I just need to put a new blade ontop off another blade, but somehow it doesn't want to work that way. I first need to rotoscope my saber, but then their is still a small green glow, I need to desaturate all greens in that scene, and if necesary I need to recolor all green objects in that frame to make everything look good again. I only have this bug in the final battle(i'm happy their aren't many to non green objects in that sequence), but its easier on Jabbas Sail Barge.

Yea I'll try to remove Coruscant. I didn't remove it yet because I don't have the 97 soundtrack of Jedi, but it worked well for Naboo, so why now for Coruscant?

EDIT: It worked

Just a small blend and the music works again

I think its better but the end needs a little work. Any ideas are always welcome

I think I would make the verb usage more active, so it should read, for example, "the Galactic Empire is completing construction of..." Also the last sentence ought to reflect what is beginning the movie, so ou should mention Vader arriving to finish construction on schedule.

Edited the last sentence:

struggling to restore peace and justice to the galaxy,
as the Empire prepares its fleet for the final
battle . . .

Now it doesn't reflect the beginning anymore and I nearly need to edit the crawl text

I'm planning to do SW and ESB so that wouldn't be a problem. I just wanted the start with ROTJ to warm up and gain better skill, then I do ESB and then (I hope) my skills are high enough to do SW, because that really requires the most drastic and biggest changes (I already did alot of work on SW, but I'll make a back-up of this for later). I actually like both Episode III and VI tags, thats why I asked

But I think I will stick with the Episode III tag

I think they used that logo in the early SW trailers simply because they didn't have a "finished" version of the logo yet.
