I won’t be sure until sometime later, but I think that scene is pretty well tethered to the loss of Leia.

My memory is also kinda hazy too, but we can discuss more about moving that scene once the film is out on video so we can watch the movie as many times as we want.

About the deleted scenes, I am hoping that we get a lot of really good juicy scenes come the film’s home video release. I heard that J.J. Abrams wasn’t that much of a deleted scenes guy when it comes to releasing them to the public. That would explain why we got a handful of short deleted scenes for The Force Awakens. Hopefully we’ll get something exciting.

Just a question, when you made your edits of the Prequel Trilogy, you described yourself as more of a curator, considering that you were borrowing ideas from other editors for your edits, as well as some of your own. For the Sequel Trilogy, you’ve been coming up with ideas as well as taking ideas from fans. Is there anything from other Sequel Trilogy edits that have made you want to use them as well. I know your inspired a bit by poppasketti’s edit of The Last Jedi.

I honestly bought everything with the relationship the whole trilogy, even his redemption. But that’s just how I felt.

Here’s a small continuity adjustment you can make. Take a look at the two shots of Rey turning around to face Ben in Snoke’s throne room. It looks like she turned around twice.

On a side note, I’ve now seen The Rise of Skywalker. It was pretty good, but had some flaws for sure, I need to see it again. When will you start your thread of your edit of The Rise of Skywalker.

Also, I noticed you made an edit of Rogue One on your Google Drive. I thought you said you weren’t going to make edits of the spin-off films.

They may have every single documentary, featurette and deleted scene from the entire saga.

I mean, just because they rescanned the film doesn’t mean they didn’t reuse the 11SE mix they already had. They certainly wouldn’t recreate it.

They could’ve, taking the 1997 Special Edition mixes and removing such things as Luke’s Palpatine scream and adding in the “NOOOOO!” Just like everyone else, I am not fans of those additions, but I think we’d still want the films to sound spectacular as well.

I might be late to the party on this, but I looked into the 4K versions of the Original Trilogy on Disney+, and correct me if I’m wrong, but here’s what I think they did here. They took the original Special Edition prints from 1997, remastered them in 4K, and recreated the 2004/2011 changes, as well as the notorious “Maclunkey” addition. The recreated changes look very good, especially removing Anakin’s eyebrows in Return of the Jedi. This new version also looks very good and not as dark and saturated as the DVDs and Blu-rays, but I’m still not a fan of 4K remasters of older films adding teal filters to them.

This conversation should probably be in the thread to The Last Jedi: Legendary, but adding Palpatine’s laugh in Ben’s mind would also be fitting foreshadowing if any of you have seen the recent TV spot of Ben visiting a Sith temple and hearing the voices of Palpatine, Snoke and Vader. Also, when you start getting ideas for your edit of The Rise of Skywalker, what name would you probably give it?

If you plan on making another version of this edit, have you thought about adding in the Emperor’s laugh over the wide shot of Rey looking at the Knights of Ren? DigModiFicaTion did this for his edit, and it works well to foreshadow Palpatine’s return.

I wonder if it might just be better to use the original opening logos for this Custom SE, even if they are meant to stand alongside the OOT. I think I’d prefer for a ‘desert island’ version of the saga to be that way, with each trilogy having its own flavor of opening.

I’ll carefully see if there’s anything that would make ANH end up being worth revising again, whether things from the new 19SE or anything else. However, if there really just isn’t, I won’t reissue it just for the logo change and will leave ESB and ROTJ with the SE logos also.

If you wanted a version that keeps the old Lucasfilm and Fox logos, you could use the Despecialized Editions. Although, correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think Harmy has put out a 1080p version of the trilogy yet.

That makes sense considering that the new films are not distributed by Fox. Any fan editor who adds in the 20th Century Fox logo for their edits of either The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, The Rise of Skywalker, or even Rogue One or Solo, has a very heavy amount of nostalgia of seeing/hearing the fanfare along with the Lucasfilm opening. And we all know why Disney doesn’t put their opening before the Lucasfilm logo, for the same reason they don’t do it for Marvel movies. It would be jarring and feel out of place.

All I’m saying is that I like some company logo updates for older films, as I kinda feel it helps it feel modernized, as opposed to 4K remasters where studios have an obsession of adding teal to their older back catalog. I liked what Adywan did for his Revisited edits in that regard.

Have you ever thought about updating the 20th Century Fox and Lucasfilm openings, or at the very least, updating the fanfare? One of the things that has bothered me about the Special Editions is that they updated the company logos (at the time in 1997) but kept the same old fanfare which is incredibly off putting when synced with the revised opening.

I gotta say, I am bummed that they didn’t put the Clone Wars episodes in the correct chronological order on Disney+.

Even though us fan editors will most likely never do this, but would you consider color correcting the 4K versions on Disney+ for an edit like this?
