Also , Rey may have been told one thing during the production of TLJ but it would not be the first time a plot point was hidden from the cast , they told everyone except Mark Hamill that the famous line was " Obi-Wan killed your father !” . I do not believe they will turn out to be siblings , nor do I believe they are going to be romantically involved , but I could be wrong . To state that anything is Empiracal fact is just speculation . You yourself said that things you thought were one way , turned out to be another .That happened a lot in the Original trilogy as well …back in 1977 , I was SURE Luke and Leia would end up together and the comics even ran with that idea , sometimes even after Empire was out .Anything can happen going forward .lastly , and just a pet peeve that my slightly ocd self gloamed in on is the term " shippers " another one I wish would die . I have been on the planet 47 years and have only heard it used in the past few years . That , and “hot take” which is something that I reserve for after a high fiber meal .Good points you bring up though, and as the Dude says , it’s just like , our collective opinions man ".

You are right, all film is subjective. I feel that the reason why Luke and Leia ended up as siblings and did not become a couple was due to George Lucas’ decisions back then. There is a great book called, “How Star Wars Conquered the Universe,” which describes the behind the scenes involvement that was occurring throughout the franchise’s history. At the time, George was still not to sure whether he wanted them to be a couple, or as siblings. These thoughts must have occurred in George’s head when making The Empire Strikes Back. They had hinted at Leia being Luke’s sister by having Yoda referring to another, and her sensing Luke on Cloud City, despite Leia giving Luke a couple-like kiss in front of Han on Hoth.

at this point I have no idea where the sequel trilogy is going and will reserve judgement until it is complete .I think their bond may be something other than romantic though , just touching hands could be a sign of empathy or familial connection . I wish that naming convention would die though “Reylo” “Jaylo” “Jaylaw” etc . It reeks of Hollywood gossip columns which, oddly enough ,modern Star Wars seems to be descending into .I have enjoyed the sequel trilogy myself however, and welcome to the forums . I imagine you will understand what I mean in the near future.

I don’t believe modern Star Wars films are descending into these types of gossip. I believe that the ones who are responsible for creating terms such as “Reylo” are fans and shippers (not to sound critical towards these fans).

You are correct about our views once the trilogy is complete, we will be able to see the full story, and I do understand what you mean. However, I do not believe that Rey and Ben are related. I think that anyone hoping that Rey is related to a familiar character in Star Wars such as Luke, Han, Leia, Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon or Palpatine will unfortunately be dissapointed. I don’t mean to go off topic for a bit, but Rey’s parentage arc is finished. Her parents were nobody, and Daisy Ridley even confirmed that she was told this when she was first cast as Rey. I like that her parents are two anonymous people, as I feel it gives Rey’s story more of an emotional impact to her involvement with the characters we all know. This makes it very impactful when Ben tells her that he doesn’t consider her as nothing. I think that the story and character relations that were carried from VII to VIII were done incredibly well, especially with Rey’s view on Kylo Ren, going from hating him due to killing Han, to feeling sorry for him because of his troubling childhood and past with his family. This doesn’t necessarily make Luke, Han and Leia bad people, but it shows that they have also struggled going from galactic heroes to parents/guardians. Sorry if I may have went off topic in a couple spots here.

Rey & Kylo Ren's Relationship...
Time

WARNING! This thread contains spoilers for all the Star Wars films!

I was wondering how everyone here feels about Rey and Kylo Ren’s relationship in the sequel trilogy as of right now. After The Force Awakens was released, there was a large group of shippers who shipped the two characters together, dubbing the term, “Reylo.” When I first saw the movie, I didn’t see anything between the two characters. I just saw this theory as a pipe dream for shippers and fangirls at first.

It wasn’t until a year later, before The Last Jedi was released, that I looked more into the theory to understand why it was quite popular. I was surprised by the evidence that the theorists have found, and they actually convinced me that this is a plot point that could potentially happen in Episode VIII. However, I always go into a new Star Wars movie with no expectations. I like to be surprised by the next installment in the saga, and not set up unrealistic expectations, leading to disappointment. When I viewed The Last Jedi the first time, I was incredibly surprised to see that a romantic relationship was set up between the two characters as I watched them touch each others hands in the hut. By the time it seemed as if Ben had decided to rule the galaxy with Rey, I had thought that the film was misleading the audience. That wasn’t until the last force bond between the two, I could tell that everything that had happened between the two was just the beginning of their relationship, based upon the looks on their faces, with Ben once again pleading for Rey to join him, and Rey very disappointed in his decision, hoping that maybe he will see how destructive his actions were.

It has surprised me that even after The Last Jedi came out, there were many fans who didn’t even see, or at least mention, the romance set up between the two characters. Whether they never saw it or they don’t want to bring it up due to having some distaste to it. The Last Jedi actually won me over to liking the story idea of the two in a romantic relationship. Just like many Star Wars fans, I love the original trilogy, and I grew up with the first six films. Despite not being a fan of the prequels later on, I did warm up to them more, and have also made my own fan edits of the prequels, as many here have also done as well. I am a big fan of the sequel trilogy, and I’m excited to see where the Rey and Ben are going to go in The Rise of Skywalker.

I am curious though. I would like to know how everyone else here feels about the relationship between Rey and Ben Solo.

Oh no, I perfectly understood what you meant. It’s just I think we could stick to one thread for all thing relating to rescoring Harry Potter. If this is a personal project you actually intend on making this, then yes, this warrants its own thread. If you’re just throwing out ideas to see what people think, it should just go in the other thread.

I don’t necessarily intend on making this, I just thought this is a specific topic that’d be fun to discuss about, and quite possibly spark the ideas for other fan editors to try out for fun.

Should’ve posted this here. Anyway, I’m in a public place right now, but I’ll give it a listen when I get home.

I think you may have misread the topic. I am talking about a project that re-scores all of the Harry Potter movies with music from the Harry Potter video game adaptations. It’s a different series of soundtracks. You can listen to the music from the games here.

I was wondering if anyone out there has ever thought about making fan edits of the Harry Potter movies, re-scoring them with the music featured in the Potter games. It is something that I am curious about. I still think the music in the movies is great and is the definitive Harry Potter music, but this is something that I think would be fun.

Here are two examples.
