I’ve been having a really bad habit with memory with this thread recently, due to putting more focus and attention into my own projects. Has there been discussions for the Rey Nobody version yet?
What is this I’m hearing about giving Rey Luke’s green crystal? Put it in Anakin’s saber?
Plus it is a long film as it is.
Just curious if you consider runtime to be important when fan editing, Hal. Personally, I find it a bit irrelevant when it comes to delivering the best quality edit you can make out of a movie, no matter how much is removed and added in. No offense if you feel runtime is important. That’s just how I see it.

look at Rey’s feet in the wide shot of Rey running. First, the lightsaber is discolored as red. Second, she is kinda floating since her feet don’t actually touch the ground.
Holy crap! You’re right! The discoloration of the saber is only in the reflection in the water. Rey does look like she’s walking in place, like an unfinished game bug.
I think it’s a nice scene overall, but as I stated a couple pages ago, it would suck to have yet another anti-climactic moment in a movie that is already full to the brim with them. And that scene in particular had a huge buildup which comes to a crashing halt in the name of a joke.
There is also the problem of missing visual effects that appear when Rey is running. This makes me wonder if it would be possible to remove that portion of the scene. That way, there aren’t missing visual effects and it doesn’t build up suspense for as long. I would personally be more interested in the scene then.
Regardless, this is probably best reserved for a TLJ thread.
I agree that it’s best reserved for The Last Jedi thread, but I don’t know what you mean by missing VFX. It looked pretty complete to me, apart from the the sunset background behind Luke and Rey looks a little incomplete.
Honestly, this is just me, I would’ve added the deleted scene of the third lesson back into The Last Jedi. I understand why you didn’t add it in because it revolves around the caretakers, which you removed, Hal. I didn’t mind them too much, and I also would’ve added back in the moment of one of them eyeing up Rey.
Are the VFX for the crackling saber done yet? I don’t think it has been done for when Rey fights her Sith self.

If anyone still subscribes to this thread, I have a request to make when it comes to lost deleted scenes. This is for Looney Tunes: Back in Action.
The DVD release contains an abridged version with commentary from Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, and if you insert the DVD into your PC, it contains a link to a now defunct hidden website on the Warner Bros site that shows all the deleted scenes in their full form.
User squeakyboots13 uploaded those scenes onto YouTube, but the video quality is very low, which he says is how they were presented.
I’m not entirely sure if there is a preservation of these scenes in standard definition or even high definition out there, but if there is, could someone here provide me a link to them?

Thousands of years from now the pages can serve as documentation of contemporary discussions of the ways of the force, only to be (nearly) destroyed without being fully understood.

I know that this is for The Last Jedi, but wouldn’t it make sense to leave the line about “bridging their minds” intact? Even when it begins, both Ben and Rey are confused as to how they are being connected. Unlike The Rise of Skywalker, where it seems as if Ben is the one making the connections, in The Last Jedi, it happens at pure random.

Wait!? Real props and filming? Okay, I’ll admit, I really haven’t been paying much attention to the thread due to completing the next audiobook in my Harry Potter series, but are we literally about to start going the Adywan route here for V2?
My intention was always to try and film a scene of Rey building her Saber using Luke and Leia’s Crystals and now reshooting two dice shots with kylo ten. Adywan is most definately an inspiration.
How is that even possible? Hiring actors and deepfaking them?

It wouldn’t solve as many things as elegantly, as to me it still begs the question “why was Palpatines literal or figurative puppet so keen on killing her last time?”
Possibly because Rey has changed a lot in the year between VIII and IX.
What if Palpatine’s line to Ben, “Kill the girl” was just removed?
