Episode III: A Less Grievous Version (* unfinished project *)

Marvolo, that's a really good suggestion, but I don't think I'll use it in my edit for a couple of reasons.

First, I think it's important to have Padme and Anakin together in a couple of scenes, and I've already removed two.

Second, in my edit Anakin doesn't go to Palpatine to rant. I cut from Anakin promising Padme he won't lose her to Anakin hinting to Palpatine that he might abandon the Jedi if Palpatine tells him how to save Padme: "More and more I get the feeling I'm being excluded from the council... I know there are things about the force that they're not telling me." I've also tried to emphasize the Anakin/Palpatine friendship in their earlier scenes.

I faded into Anikan's line "More and more I get the feeling I'm being excluded from the council... I know there are things about the force that they're not telling me." This is Anikan ranting in a sense. Even his facial expressionas and intonations show that he is frustrated, and in the scen with him telling Obi-Wan goodbye he mentions his frustration. So, yes he is venting to Palpatine. He is frustrated with the Jedi, so he goes to Palpatine. If you place the Padme's apartment scene inbetween these two scenes you break up this flow, because there is no reason for him to be frustrated or worried by the time he gets to the scene with Palpatine because he has already discussed his thoughts with his wife. Anikan is suppossed to trust the Jedi less and less as film and story progresses, and by cutting out Padme's apartment scen you make this idea stronger, because Anikan is only getting more and more frustrated. Plus, padme's apartment scen has a totally different theme than the scene of him telling Obi-Wan goodbye and his scene in Palpatines office. In the scene involving Obi-Wan and the scene involving Palpatine he is mad and frustrated with the jedi, but in the scene in Padme's apartment he is talking about wanting more power. I just don't feel the scene in Padme's apartment flows well with the other two, but it is your edit so it is up to you.

Bridge scene, plot to destroy the Jedi and Jedi Council #1. I didn't include the Padme's apartment to Palpatine's office cut, because I'm still undecided on what kind of transition to use there. I'll probably include it in the next batch of clips. Bear in mind that these clips are in no way final, and may change for the final release.

Something I tried to see if it would work was cutting Padme's apartment scene and transitioning from Obi-Wan's starfighter entering hyperspace to Palpatine's by use of a fade to black transition. It works good, because the last look Anikan gives Obi-Wan is one of confusion, and in the next scene with him he is confessing to palpatine instead of Padme. I just thought it seemed better for him to discuss his concerns with Palpatine and not Padme. It shows he has a stronger friendship and trust with Palpatine. Plus Anakin going to his wife and discussing his worries and then going to Palpatine gets a bit redundant.

I enjoyed the first two quite a lot, though the first one is undoubtedly superior in every way.

The third one I have mixed feelings on. While I enjoyed some aspects of it, there wasn't nearly enough of it taking place in the matrix itself and I hated the fact that everyone from the first film but Morpheus is dead. And yet the Superman fight between Neo and Smith almost makes up for its shortcomings in my mind.

I guess 'cheated' is a good word for it. The first film set my expectations very high and the Wachowski's failed to deliver on them completely.

I kind of have the same feelings. I enjoyed the frst two, but the third is so-so. I love some parts, but absolutely hate other parts. The Battle of Zion was utter crapt in my oppinion. I enjoyed the Architect scenes, but hated the Battle of Zion. I know it is wierd. The parts in the matrix are the best though, because there are less limits as to what can be done. The Neo-Smith fight was good, but had one to many water ball explosions.

Sorry if you took my "status" question the wrong way... it just seems to me that if you are asking for donations and selling merchandise to help fund the project, people have a right to know what is up with it. Simply asking how much is done seemed like a fair compromise.

How about releasing ONE finished scene so people can see what they'll be getting?

Honestly, if you really want donations, keeping folks in the loop and showing them bits of the finished product is a good way to entice them. I asked my question originally because I was tempted to donate and wanted to know more before I did. Several other posters also liked the idea of a progress report, maybe they were thinking of donating too.

Giving us a heavy, condescending attitude is probably not the best way to fish for cash.

I doubt you meant "fishing for cash" to sound the way it did, but you make it sound like they are a bunch of beggars. The X0 team is not fishing for cash. They are just offering us a chance to support the project in a monetary fashion. But no harm done, I just thought your phrasing could be misconstrued.

What if the island is Atlantis? A lot of wierd stuff happens on the island. That girl that crashed on the island said in last weeks episode that she was flying towards the coordinates given by Penny. She thought that nothing was at those coordinates, and that it was a useless waste of time. As she got closer to her destination thick clouds set in and her navigational equipment would not work, and she had to bell out and she landed on the island. Another wierd thing is that no communication signal of any kind can be sent off the island. Also, when Michael and his sone left Ben said they could not come back, maybe it is because the island is Atlantis.

Just got back from seeing it. Man, it was pretty awful. I really liked it from the start, up until about the Harry kidnaps Mary Jane scene, and from there it got pretty bad. The whole evil Peter thing was WAY too over the top. Just terrible. All the dialogue during that section was just painful. The others had plenty of campy moments in them, but I have cut them plenty of slack and still enjoy them both a lot. But this...

The raindrops scene in the second one was awesome. I love that seen. It was purposely campy, but other than the music it wasn't so retarted. The jazz scene was beyond campy. I don't even see the two scenes as comparable. I did like the beginning and the end of this movie though. It was just that mid section that totally lost it.

EDIT: Oh, I almost forgot. I hate how in just about ever scene with Venom talking he had Brock's head, I also hate his constant refering to himself as "I", that was an extreme oversight in the writing. In the comics he always refers to himself as "we".

But on the upside, the Bruce Campbell appearance was pretty cool.

The Jazz scene's stupidity serves a purpose to the story. This scene lets the audiance know that the suit is amplifying traits that were weak before. The suite is giving him a major confidence boost, and the audience needs to see that. Yes, Peter looks beyond stupid strutting around the city, but that is from the audiences point of view, not Peter's. Because of the suit Peter thinks he is invincible and that no matter what anyone does it does not matter because he is better and stronger than them. If Peter would have not had the suit's influence he would never have strutted around the city like that. The audience has to realize how bad the suite is affecting him, and it all culminates to the point where he hits Mary Jane. Had you not preceeded this scene with something silly and light hearted it would have made the moment when he hits Mary Jane less dramatic. To know what drama is you have to know what the opposite is and that is humor, and this is exactly what the Jazz scene was.

Zion, this is my favorite line: "I protected you in high school, now I am gonna kick your little ass." And then Peter does that little fake shudder. Also, I loved when Peter was standing over Harry in the Goblin's liar and he says " Ahh, is little Gobwin jr. gonna cry?" And Peter's jazz moments (besides the piano moment) beat the crapt out of the raindrops scene anyday. I just can't stand the song "Raindrops" or whatever it is called.

Help: looking for... 1997 SE TB Digital Broadcasts

One thing about the GKar releases that I noticed is that the colors are so much better in the 97 release than they are in the 2004 release. I would have so much less hate towards the 2004 SE if it didn't have such screwed up colors. Also, wainsco if you would rather not upload the movies to a site that requires registartion you can upload the movies to mininova. It is sort of a sister site to demonoid and requires no registration. It is just as good as Demonoid and just as popular. Just thought I would suggest that, and thanks for providing these to the community.
